This is an excellent school! I found everyone to be helpful and kind. I would recommend this school to anyone that needs flexibility with their classes. My student adviser kept in touch with me throughout my entire program. I am considering going back to AIU for my masters.

Watch this school closely. They tell you one thing and the turn around and do the opposite. I withdrew due to a car accident and then found out laterr they kept the money from my student loans even though It was only one week into the class. When I called to question the loan I was transferred to three different people and still could not get the correct person I needed and the last lady hung up on me without helping me at all.

This school is a joke. They continue to add to the price of tuition and classes without notification. Their student advisors will not contact you when they set a time, It is impossible to get in touch with them, they will not return phone calls or emails. They expect you to get all documentation that they need, and when you do send it in they do not email you or contact at all that you sent them the right thing. Everyone that I have talked to at that school, student advisors, financial aid, etc. are very rude and not helpful at all. They get you in and then you are expected to do everything on your own with no help or guidance from any of the departments that are supposed to help. In my opinion, if I were you, I would definately find a different school, and run away from AIU.

Degree: MBA in Finance
Graduation Year: 2005

I got my MBA at American InterContinental University through their online degree program in 2005. I was not only impressed with the online course curriculum, but the quality of the professors. Every professor I had was an experienced industry veteran in the area of the coursework. For example, the professor for the marketing course I took (I had a finance emphasis, so I did not need to take many marketing courses) had been a Chief Marketing Officer of large company and was an active marketing consultant. The criticism she gave on the marketing plan I created as part of the coursework was constructive and educational and I was actually able to work on a marketing plan for a start-up I was trying to create at the time. The online UI was excellent for 2005. I can only guess that it is much better now. I still have login access to my AIU account and can use the cyber-library search services.

My experience with AIU was great! I attended school using their online program. The student portal was very user friendly and there was a great array of resources. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and available to help. There was so much support throughout the process I always felt connected and never felt like I was missing out on anything that would have been available if I had been attending on campus. I am 52 and currently completing a bachelors in Health Care Management. My enrollment counselor was extremely encouraging and instrumental in helping me to determine the direction I should go in. He dedicated a lot of time and went the extra mile to help me with my decision and he was 100% right in his counsel. The curriculum was and is excellent and very challenging. When I decided to go back and get my bachelors degree there was no second thought about what school I would attend. I am now almost half way through my program and again I am extremely impressed with all that is available to me, especially how attentative all the faculty and staff have been throughout this process. I highly recommend this school to anyone thinking about attending or returning to college.

AIU is not worthy. The admission associates will tell you the best about the school and will make everything easy so people get register to get commisions. AIU will put students in huge Debts. Most of the time student don't even know the loans AIU is putting under the student name. People run away from AIU

I had physically attended community colleges in younger years and considered myself a good student. After retiring from the military I thought it would be a good idea to get my BSIT. They were extremely helpful in assisting me with my 9/11 GI Bill and Employer reimbursement: Rating Financial Services at (8.9) due to occasional invoice in the wrong format. Course Material: I found most classes to be easy. Google Searches and restating the the M.U.S.E objectives were often enough to get good grades. I don't believe the grades were always a reflection of the effort. I would have preferred the classes to be more challenging. Evaluation: 7.2 Flexibility: As a full time employee and a father of small children I found the online classes to be very accomodating to my schedule. Working Midnight hours on Saturdays became the norm when trying to meet the Sunday deadline. Evaluation: 9 Group Work - This was the most frustrating as ocassionaly some of your group members showed little or no effort in completing their tasking. After the initial bad experience with group work, I volunteered to lead every group project from then on. If your concerned about your grades your going to have to take the initiative. Evaluation: 6 Professors: AIU hires IT professionals from around the world to teach the various courses. There were a number of professors that taught that had English as a second language. Sometimes the Live Chats were difficult to understand especially if your DSL service was poor and you had bandwidth issues. Most are helpful and understand student problems. People that complain about their grading our turning in late projects have to understand that it is AIU Policy, not the professors. Do your work on time and you will be fine, try to turn it in the final week and you will be disappointed. If you observe a professor behaving poorly simply respond to the teacher and CC your advisor. The school is a categorized a education for profit school, students who are unhappy don't return or make referrals. They will make adjustments if your cause is just. EVALUATION: 8 Finally, the school is nationally accredited and should be able to get you into other higher levels of learning. I will be attending Penn State in 2015 after providing my AIU transcripts. It is not nationally known for it's academics but they do provide a quality education for those that show enough comittment to seeing it through. I have recommended AIU to many of my coworkers, two are in programs now (each with their own levels of satisfaction).

This school is not worth the drama. They deny you services when you become a student. I was even denied me and refused to provide verification that I am a full time student at AIU, when I am the one paying for my classes. I never thought this would happen to me but it did. Prior to returning to AIU, I was told various things to of course get me to come back. Now that I am back I am being disrespected and denied rights I should have to my own information as a student.

AIU was solid from the second I spoke with my counselor until the day I graduated. I never had any problems reaching anyone there each and every department was helpful and answered all my questions. Technical Support I love those guys, I developed a unique relationship with them for sure I would call them at 3 or 4 am no problem they were helpful and every time saved the day. From calling my instructors when I was late with an assignment cause of a computer glitch or whatever the case may be they were there for me. The student Advisors are all awesome and never gave up on me when I felt like quitting they said some kind words and I continued with my program,. I have to admit I am not the easiest person to work with and I hadmy share of melt downs. The support at AIU was all that. The teachers let me tell you have the best of the best credentials Every one of my teachers through out my four years was a Phd. in their chosen field of expertise, with the exception of maybe one or two teachers. But let me tell you that was rare. The teachers are awesome and very patient. They are lienient in their expectations of their students. Meaning they go easy on you. I would 100% recommend this school to anybody who is thinking of going here. I had an amazing experience for my four years and in fact I am enrolled in the Master's program currently and enjoying it as well. I have gotten numerous job opportunities and still entertaining more as we speak. The school has a job placement department as well to help students find a good paying job. You are goning to need it cause the cost is well lets just say you cant get a good job without the education that you get from AIU or any other school. The prices at AIU are competitive with other schools. And there are programs when you finish to help pay the outstanding balances. Oh and one more thing. The hours are awesome I study at my own pace and I am able to work around my existing schedule which is a bonus cause I'm a single parent and work with not many hours left over for school. So this school worked for me. Thanks for reading my story.
