You get out of it - what you put into it. Some people will go to school and expect to be given a degree (not earned) the school is there to learn - yoiu need to put in the time and effort - I see other reviews and I dont get it - I attended AIU from the AA program all the way to Masters and sure there are some bumps on the road but nothing big, Most teachers care - present the material and answer your questions - you have to collaborate - Bottom Line do I earn more ? YES with a Masters Degree I would earn alot less than I do today. Program Manager at HP 12 years
I just started this school on August 24,2015. I have to say I love it. I don't understand why people are complaining about the school itself. If you don't like it please feel free to go to another school of your choosing. I have learned a lot since starting. The tools offered here are essential to my learning. The instructor I have had so far has helped me when I needed it.I love Intellipath as well. I learn so many new things that I had not known already. It's all about Time Management and Planning ahead. If you don't do any of those things of course you will have a hard time. My second session starts on October 5, 2015. I thought I was only going to be getting one class but it turns out I will be getting 2 classes. One is English Composition, the other is Foundations of Criminal Justice. Instead of griping and complaining I took responsibility in planning ahead and applying Time Management skills. I created a calendar list of tasks/assignments that I have to do within each class and included the date those assignments were due by. I also was able to set a specific day and time in which I want to get my assignments started and completed. Doing this you can never go wrong and you will stay a step ahead instead of doing everything at the last minute. Although a challenge, in some regards, I am looking forward to learning more in my second session here at AIU and I would recommend this school to any one who is interested in pursuing a college degree. If you are not the type to read, research or write then this isn't your thing. There will be a lot of reading, writing and researching going on in the classrooms of AIU. All of this works for me as I am a homemaker with 3 children in school. It is time consuming but so what I have a lot of time on my hands and pursuing my college degree is something that I have always wanted to do.As I said before, complaining won't accomplish anything or get you anywhere. If you find that AIU is not up to your standards, go somewhere else but at the end of the day it will still amount to the same thing..WORK...you get back what you put into this. Hard work pays off. Skating by because it's an online campus is cheating yourself and you don't attain and/or retain knowledge that way. Wishing all of you the best. Regards!
Ok but really NOT worth the money! Cost $30,000 for the MBA program but I can honestly say I walked away with little new information. Professors are knowledgeable but super lenient. And they charge you a "graduation fee" with no actual graduation...Don't waste your money!
I loved the program. They were very professional and left nothing in question. The online program was very manageable and interactive and I learned so much and enjoyed attending all of my classes. The professors were great. All of my credits were transferable. I was so happy to walk across the stage during graduation in Atlanta. My overall experience was two thumbs up and I definitely recommend AIU to potential students!!
The online courses were very accommodating to my work schedule. The staff members were all very helpful and easy to contact. AIU also presents the material in multiple formats (visual, written, and auditory) to cater to different types of learners. All-in-all, I very highly recommend it.
Days before graduation they kick me out due to ACGPA not high enough for financial aid. Really, right before graduation. Transfer GPA doesn't count. Cost is $400+ per hour. 4.5 x $400. Save your money and go to a top notch university were someone can explain the assignments thoroughly.
I received my A.A. (business administration), B.F.A. (visual communications), and M.Ed degrees. I would not hesitate to attend this school again if they offered a Ph.D. degree program. Challenging courses and solid education. The degrees have helped me to advance my career.
The classes were decent, as long as you dedicate time to learning just as you would with a brick and mortar school. The affordability is terrible, the amount of loans owed to this school are the equivalent of an Ivy League school. You also have to use Sallie Mae if your loans are not all covered by the Federal Government (they won't be), and they are terrible as well. I have yet to receive my diploma or transcripts (your transcripts, even your first copy, are not included in your tuition) even though I graduated 4 years ago. Repeated calls to the university do very little, they are very unresponsive. All in all, this university was very misleading, over priced, unhelpful, and seems to be a total scam. STAY AWAY!
This school is great as far as academics, HOWEVER, Financial Aid is a RIP OFF. I have 3 degrees from this school from an Associates all the way to a Masters Degree. Every single academic year, I find that there are issues with how Financial Aid has packaged my award and how they screw up my VA GI Bill. Well this happened literally a few days before I was suppose to finish my MBA. It was an error on their part stemming from April of last year. It took for me to call and DEMAND to know the real reason for the balance popped up on my account (out of nowhere mind you). I called several times to inquire on this only to be told that all was clear and that there must be an error because my accoubt was and has always been satisfied through my GI Bill. I called many times just to be told I had absolutely nothing to worry about and that it should clear itself on my student portal. That never happened, instead when I chose to call again because I was very uneasy seeing a $6k balance pop up a few days before graduation. I was FINALLY told that they incorrectly packaged the Financial Aid Award earlier in the year award so before I could be cleared to graduate (Although I was a few days away from completing my entire MBA Program) I would have to pay the $6000 error which occurred on AIU'S behalf. Needless to say I settled with Financial Aid and paid half OUT OF POCKET...This happened in December. It is now almost June and still NOTHING. I held my end of the aggrement and paid for THEIR MISTAKE out of pocket. As a disabled Veteran I cannot afford to continue to pay for their errors. Now with an account that was cleared as instructed, its almost June and now they want an additional $1600 for somwthing that has ZERO to do with the payment agreement and my diploma for my MBA. This is not the first second or third time Ive experienced this with AIU. They will screw you over BIG TIME. Now I have over $100k in Debt solely because of AIU with NOTHING to show for it. They are ridiculously OVERPRICED for an online institution and I find the Financial Aid representatives to be quite rude yet Incompetent. I do NOT RECOMMEND this school as I have referred froends here who are also Veterans and they too have all been acrewed over by the Financial Aid department.
I received my Masters from the school in 2004. I have to admit, the school is very hard. I really took to school for granted. The instructors were very knowledgeable in the field. And they expected the students to write as graduate students I have to admit, the school is very hard. I really took to school for granted. The instructors were very knowledgeable in the field. And they expected the students to write as Graduate students There was one professor who told the class that if they do not like in APA format we will all fail class. I Istayed up all night reviewing my papers. I did not have a problem with financial aid as other students who have posted I did not have problems of anything I was able to attend my classes and get A. Yes the school is very accelerate, but I was told that at the beginning. I love the school. I wish this school had more degree program. If they get doctoral degree, I'm there.
