Very highly PO'd right now!!! This is an e-mail I just sent to them ...

I have gotten several phone calls in the past couple weeks about some supposed balance that I owe on my account!! Ashworth was paid on 7/21/08 $1090 and then ASHWORTH returned it to my Employer on 2/13/09???? NOW 3 YEARS LATER YOU ARE CALLING ME ABOUT A BALANCE ON MY ACCOUNT!!!!! I keep getting transferred to a supervisor (so I think) but coincidentally keep getting "disconnected" after waiting on hold forever to try and fix something you have seemingly SCREWED UP!!!

After I just got disconnected (and you are calling me AT WORK), I have to write this e-mail because NO ONE seems to know what is going on and why the payment was returned to my company back in 2009!!! It says I called and requested it. I can assure you that I DID NOT call and request for you to send the payment back so that NOW I WILL have a balance, and a $1090 one at that!!!!!

Someone needs to get their act together there and figure out what is going on. How many other students have all of a sudden, after several years, wound up getting calls about a mysterious balance on their account???????

Sooooo apparently they are looking for some way to get money. After 3 years they didn't notice I had an outstanding balance of $1090????? WHY BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE IT!!! THEY SUPPOSEDLY SENT THE PAYMENT BACK TO MY EMPLOYER!!! WHY???? BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!!

Degree: Medical Billing & Coding
Graduation Year: 2012

I completed the Medical billing program. I had no problems. It was a lot of reading and I enjoyed my time at Ashworth.

I am doing this BSBM in conjuction with receiving my masters of Education from NCU. I am delighted at the ease, as well as the information that is provided. I needed the BSBM for advancement purposes at the school where I currently teach, and will more than likely continue into their MBS program.

Definitely check the information out. You won't regret it, but as with anything, if you don't apply yourself, you are not going to get squat out of it.

Degree: Management
Graduation Year: 2011

I started Ashworth in 2009 with the Associate degree in HR and had such a great experience I continued my education and entered the BS Management program. This school was a great fit for me as I work as a General Manager for a large management company. The work was challenging and I was able to work at my own pace. I never had a problem with dealing with them except for waiting on line a few times to speak to rep, the wait was longer than I would of like but they always took care of my issue and were very pleasant.

This school is very affordable and accredited. I would recommend this school to anyone who has limited time to work with. I am currently in the MBA program and it is very challenging but I feel good about reaching my educational goals. Time goes by fast so don't wait. I have also never had anyone call me about payment, I get a statement every month and that's been the only contact I have ever received about payment. If your a motivated person with some computer experience then you can do this, not all easy but very worth it!

After reading the review entitled "The Truth About Ashworth," I just had to let you all know that the school itself is "barely literate." I had complained several times about errors in the tests, and each time I received an email with this same paragraph (copied verbatim): > We appreciate having you as an Ashworth Student, our goal is to provide you with an excellent customer service experience, if we can assist you further, please let us know.

So how about that, Mr. T? Here is an online college, sending out form emails with not one but TWO run-on sentences! And that is proof that anyone considering this school is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Degree: Accounting
Graduation Year: 2012

I am just about finished with my Associate of Applied Science in CJ. I have had NO problems with this school. Low tuition, quality textbooks, (my Criminal Investigations book was about 500 pages long) accredited by DETC and listed as a member of CHEA and HETA.

Books and lesson guides arrive on my doorstep as soon as I finish the second to the last study lesson. They even email me when a book has been shipped. Best thing is I am about to graduate tuition free and I have learned a great deal. I have even had debates on CJ with students from brick and mortar schools and they get proven wrong. Those that complain don't need to be in college or were homeschooled their whole lives. Quit blaming others for your ineptitude. I was going to enroll in California Coast but I am sticking with Ashworth.

CCU's BSCJ's curriculum is weaker than Ashworths BSCJ. Before you settle on a degree compare the curriculums!

If you're disciplined enough to do things on your own, Ashworth is a good way to go. You also need to be a little bit computer savvy (but you don't need to be a genius). The only drawbacks I've seen so far is they're a little slow at sending course materials, and opening up the next course when you're done with one.

The course work is challenging, but not hard, and the lectures and reading assignments are very thorough. I'm earning my degree faster and much cheaper than I would anywhere else, and I love that I can do it all on my own schedule. Since I work full time, that makes a huge difference.

For my situation, this school is perfect. I absolutely love it. I am married with a kid and have a good job that pays all my bills. I decided to go back to school so that I could advance farther in my field, and to have the satisfaction of having a degree.

I started Ashworth in September, I had some transfer credits and they accepted them; I paid the original fee and I was enrolled. It is now February and I have done 9 classes so far, with the 10 classes I had that transferred that leaves 1 more till I get my Associates Degree then I will immediately start trying to get my bachelors. It's not the easiest school, but it's not the hardest. I actually really WANT to learn a lot of this stuff and it teaches very well. I put in probably 20 hours a week; it's tough sometimes but it's supposed to be.

People have different ways they learn. If you need a lot of feedback and need a teacher to email, this is not for you. In my opinion this school is for people like me, older and more disciplined who are focused. I love the fact that I enrolled here because another school that demanded time constraints would most likely not have worked for me.

Graduation Year: 2012

I have been extremely disappointed in Ashworth College. It is unfortunate that the school is so disorganized. Since they have most of my money now, they delete my posts when asking for help from student services and my multiple calls are not resolved.

IT issues are very backed up and issues that I have had for over a month have yet to be resolved. I am almost done now, but here in my final semester, they removed a course that I already completed, but they did not grade, instead they removed the completed course from the transcript area and added a new course in order to charge me for yet another course.

I run a transportation business and I do not treat customers in such a manner. I do not brush them off the phone, I resolve issues immediately in hopes that my customers will be happy and refer us to friends and other contacts. I do like that the courses can be done on line at your own pace, but students that are done with a course have to wait weeks for another course to be sent or released. I think the slow pace at which the school operates works best for students that start something and procrastinate for weeks or months before taking another course.

I do hope that my post will help others that are considering Ashworth. The program is less expensive than most, but I would recommend checking out Penn Foster. The price is the same and if they had a degree program that worked for me, I would have gone with them as they are not only DETC, but they offer ACE credits which often time can transfer to regionally accredited colleges.

I have been with Ashworth 2 months. All my interactions with the school have been 100% positive. I found out about an issue with a few questions on one of the exams. When I contacted the school, I was switched to a supervisor within minutes. She was very understanding and patient. Within 10 minutes the IT department called me back with the issue resolved. Perfect customer service. Great school and great folks so far IMO.
