"This school is an absolute joke! If I were to apply with crayon and submit my information on an index card, Bay State College would have accepted me! They are solely interested in money, and keeping their scam going. The Dean of Academic affairs wears T-shirts and is a hack! Beware of their for-profit mentality which seeks to strip you of any money to line their pockets. This school is a joke and I'm transferring out!"

"Honestly I had a terrible time, The roommates I had where nothing but bullies.. so bad that if I ever see any of them so help me god. On top of that the faculty did nothing to stop the fact they bully me out of the room and the girl before me. I wish I never wasted my money here. luckily I transfer out and the college I ended up attending was amazing."

"Plus - school is small enough to know people. Campus is fine. Negative - Quality of education isn't great. Too many adjunct instructors who don't really care about the students and aren't exactly top line teachers. The absolute worst class I had was with an algebra instructor named K. H. She knows her subject, but doesn't know how to teach or relate to students. She was moody and often seemed unbalanced. I don't get any sense that she cares about students and sometimes her comments to people in the class were very insensitive and downright cruel. I don't know why she's even teaching because she doesn't appear to like her job. I think she was more interested in herself than the class. Her teaching style is lazy and she often showed no interest in listening to the students. She was never available to help students after class and there was no real way to actually contact her. I'm now at BC - much better!!! The faculty there is a lot more professional and they know how to teach. At BC, they do care about their students. I wish I went there from the start of college. The future - I'm not so sure Bay State will survive with enrollments dropping across the country and I'm not so sure it should. This school needs to change and the change should start with raising the quality of it's academic staff. Get rid of the low-end dead weight and please bring in academic professionals who understand how to teach and want to be there to teach."

"Don't waste your time with Bay State College! Going in is fine because you're on a high and excited to live in the city. Everyone goes home on the weekends and there are strict rules on who can visit and sleep over. I was roomed with three other people non of which were studying in the same program as me. Whilst three of us got along, the fourth roommate aggressively threatened us daily. The campus solution was to move her one floor up in the same dorm. I left school early as threats continued and i did not feel safe. Nothing was done in preventing this psycho from flipping out and killing us. Food was terrible - Housing was terrible - teachers were terrible. Now i'm stuck with the $10,000 bill from eight weeks of schooling, nothing can be done about the fact i was bullied out of the place but they still want their money and have held documents hostage until i started paying them back. Please don't waste your time in attending this school. You will get nothing out of it but a headache."

"I attended the evening division and also took classes online. I worked hard and believe that I received a great education from professors who were knowledgeable and cared about student success. You get what you put in. I currently work in a related field and make over $70,000/yr in Boston, which I feel is adequate for a bachelor's degree. I am currently applying for grad school and have received support from my previous professors at Bay State. I would recommend this school and specifically the CJ program if you are willing to put the work in."

"I'M COMPLETELY DISGUSTED WITH BAY STATE COLLEGE!. I'm currently attending this hell hole and there's so many thing's wrong with it. So let me start by saying when I was applying to this school the admissions hounded me down to go to this school. This is a money hungry school that only want you to apply and then when your here they don't give a shit about you. It's a whole scam. The dorm life is absolute trash. There are RATS, bedbugs, food is trash and get my sick. The cafeteria is 15 minutes away, but in the winter it's 20 minutes which is dangerous. Beds are hard as hell and there's no way to get on top of the bed without falling down. The hot water always turns off and on, the computers always freeze, and the printer never works. The only way of getting food is the snack machine which never works. The RA's don't care about me and the heat is never on. There's so much ridiculous rules that aren't necessary. This school has no social life and no one every does anything. The downtown area is okay, but the residential life is so bad that everyone goes home every weekend. Now lets get into the education part of the school. The teachers are all uneducated in what they teach in class. I feel like I'm not learning a damn thing. They fired all the good teachers because of budget cuts. I would say if you still consider this school don't you dare live on campus, you will regret it like I have."

"Attendance at this school was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. The instructors look for reasons to fail students and brag about their lack of retention in the program. The professors do not care about the students. Do not waste your time with this school. There are better programs for less money available."

"After going through the PTA program, graduating, taking the boards and starting my new career as a licensed PTA, I can honestly say that the PTA program at Bay State College is the best program out there. The clinical placements are amazing and the schools goes out of their way to make sure each placement is a good fit for the student. The practicals are tough but prepare you to step into the real world with the confidence you need to be a good PTA. The professors are there for you and will support you when you reach out for help. They want you to succeed and will go out of their way to help you and share their knowledge. This program is challenging and you will have to work hard and be organized, but when you walk across that stage at graduation you will be ready for your new career as a PTA!"

"Bay State was the single worst financial decision I've ever made. The college was unbelievably overpriced, staff was incredibly demeaning to the students in the PTA program, and would often brag about how they do not graduating two thirds of the original class. There are several other PTA options in the state that are cheaper worth your time, please do not attend Bay State."

"I have read reviews on here claiming the program was great and the teachers cared about the students. That is simply not true. If you asked any student their honest opinion they'd tell you that the teachers only looked out for themselves and making sure they didn't get fired due to budget cuts. The teachers would not only over worked their students but treated them with little to no respect. In the teachers' eyes when they were right they were right and when they were wrong they were right. They found the smallest reason to write you up or to fail you during a practical. I wouldn't recommend this program to anyone."

"I will start off by saying I don't know if this review will apply to any other program here besides Entertainment Management, but I have a feeling that many of the issues I have with this college are likely prominent in other programs as well. I can not even begin to explain how poor of an education Bay State really offers. Like any school, if you attend you will find yourself in good, even great classes occasionally, but the negatives just outweigh the bad elements on so many levels. First of all, the school sets up the degree to focus on you on Business and Management, the subjects in which they have acquired the least amount of good teachers. Almost all of the general education classes are a joke, they feel sub-high school level and I've heard this sentiment echoed from so many other students. In terms of major specific classes, I had some okay audio/EM classes my first two semesters, but that was it. Starting your second year, your advancement in learning reaches a plateau. If you are looking to be prepared for a career in the worlds of live sound, or recording, 10 minute youtube tutorials will do you better than most of these classes. Not to mention the fact that the audio recording facilities are awful and outdated, with older versions of updated programs. You would be much better off just spending a couple grand getting a nice project studio space up and running, and learn from friends, online, and trial & error. Teachers will not challenge you, they are looking to dumb down the material as much as possible so everyone gets through as quick as possible. The staff in general is not helpful either. The dorm facilities are awful and depressing. The living conditions are below sub par, the food is terrible and gave everyone stomach aches all the time. The students generally are not invested, and consequentially there is barely any campus initiative. Make sure to commute if you go, because the dorms are truly horrible, but honestly I would shy away from going at all if you are serious about a career in audio or music. One positive thing, I guess, is that if you have a lot of drive, some of the staff have mildly useful connections that can help you get your foot in the door with some corporate audio and live sound stuff. But generally these opportunities are incredibly limited, especially on the EM side (for which there are virtually none) and they are places you could easily get to without a degree anyways. Attending Bay State is an overpriced endeavor, that will actually DISCOURAGE your drive to further your career to focus on terrible classes that are mind numbing to sit through and below an elementary level."

"The PTA program at Bay State College was extremely challenging but once I completed it I was ready for my future. Bay state college has a reputation of having the best prepared new graduates out there. As class we are pushed to succeed. One has to go in to this program willing to spend nights and weekend outside of the classroom studying the materials, writing research papers and developing the physical skills. I was embraced that I was struggling to learn the enormous amount of material given to us that I did not ask for help at first. However, later, I learned the most instructors are eager to assist those who ask, inquisitive questions and seek for clarity on topics. With that said they do help you find your independence with research and problem solving, which is needed everyday in this field. I recommend the PTA program at Bay State College!!!"

"The PTA program at Bay State is incredibly challenging and fast paced however the knowledge and experience I had after these two years well prepared me for my first job in the field. The teachers have varied backgrounds, from orthopedics, geriatrics and peds, to acute care and nursing facilities. The affiliations Bay State has for clinical rotations are the best of any PTA school in the area and I consistently heard from PTs and PTAs in the field that Bay State students are the most well prepared students they've worked with. You will work very hard while in this program, but if you make the effort, you will have a strong career ahead of you. I had no trouble finding a job after graduation and feel I could not have received a better education."

"The PTA program at Bay State was extremely challenging but worth every second of stress. Throughout my clinicals and current work I have heard from many physical therapy professionals that Bay State students are the best prepared and most sought after. It is amazing how much someone can learn in two years and I owe my teachers and instructors a big thank you for giving me the tools to become successful in my chosen career. I believe that this PTA program is the best in the state. If you decide this is what you want then you should definitely chose this program but be prepared to work incredibly hard. If you are lucky not only will you come out with a great career but also with life long friends that struggled and laughed with you the whole way through. Trust me it's all worth it in the end!!"

"I graduated in May of 2015 from the PTA program. I have seen comments that "they" set you up to fail. Its actually quite the opposite. The program is challenging, as any program preparing you for a career in the medical field should be. The professors are very accessible and are very knowledgeable. They will suggest peer mentors for the student that may be struggling as well as offer their own help. Time spent outside the classroom to practice lab skills with classmates is a must. I found that the students that struggled underestimated the program demands and generally did not put the necessary time in needed to succeed. I have been employed since passing my licensing exam and our staff is impressed at how prepared I was as a first year graduate. Many of my classmates received similar comments, with many clinical locations commenting on how BSC students are much better qualified than students from competing local programs. I recommend the PTA program at Bay State College without reservation."

"Going into the PTA program I was extremely excited. After my experience I just has at bay state in the PTA program I would never recommend that program to anyone. The students are set up to fail from the moment they step foot in the classroom with there rules and regulations. A student spends thousands and thousands of dollars to enter the program but they don't care they look for any reason to dismiss you from the program with no care that you put a lot of time and money into it all. The professors could care less about you. Most of them mislead you with information and then test you on what should have been the correct information but if you try to approach them about it they give you no respect and then end up writing you up for "challenging there authority". They treat you like children but preach that they want us to act like adults. This program was truly a disappointment and waste of time."

"Bay State College is the worst college I have ever attended. The PTA program is designed with policy's to fail students out of the program, not retain them. The practical tests of the program are graded subjectively not objectively. The college says that they care about your success but their actions say otherwise. The PTA program can not maintain the clinical education sites that they have and accepts more students into the program then it has the space or equipment to properly teach. The professors are some of the most un-humbled and unprofessional instructors I have ever dealt with. If I knew what I know now I would of never went. I would never recommend this program to or school to anyone."

"As a current student, thankfully getting the hell out of here, I can say Bay State is the furthest thing from a succeeding college. If you were to go to this college I suggest only health related students to apply and DO NOT live on campus. Although I do have a few favorite professors, a majority don't know how the hell to teach a class. This campus is ran by 20 year olds that are beyond inexperienced in how to run a college there has been a new director in every department EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Aside from classroom life, on campus living has been a nightmare since my freshman year. They now only have 3 dorm buildings, since they lost a building to Berkeley. If you live on campus be prepared to feel like your being baby sat. The school is so damn small everyone knows everyone and everything about one another. You can't have any guests passed midnight even if they live on campus in another building. You must fill out an over night request guest form 48 hours before you want those people to come and can only sleep over for 2 consecutive nights. The RAs have nothing better to do but report you for every little thing they believe is wrong, and then you'll have to pay a fine. This school looks for every possible way to take money from you. As for the food, you will be eating worse than what your high school had to offer. Nothing is ever fully cooked or properly set up so who actually knows what your putting into your stomach. It consists of two small dining rooms and have specific hours and closes at 7 PM, which means if you work and come home late you'll be starving until the next day or spending money on take-out. Me and my group of friends cannot wait to get off this campus and not have to deal anymore of their crap. Me and several current students would NEVER recommend this college to anyone. I don't even believe for this to be a college."

"The classes are a complete joke as well as the professors. Many students here are dull and cannot get accepted to other colleges. The professors clearly can't get another source of income so they "teach" at Bay State college. The stuff that i have "learned" so far this year I recall learning when I was in 8th grade. The only decent class here is the music management class. The dorms are pathetic, small, no elevators, printer in the lounge doesn't work, the wifi sucks, your not allowed to have microwaves and oh wait....UNLIKE MOST SCHOOLS you have to alert the dead beat resident director 24 hrs in advance of having a guest sleepover. You can't smoke outside the building or you will be violated, you can't have more than 2 guests signed in or you will be violated, you can't have a guest after 12 or you will be violated. If your loud during "quiet hours" you will be violated. If your 15 year old sister needs a place to sleep and is stuck in boston and you have her stay there without letting the RA know in advance you will be violated. You are only allowed 3 absences in each class even if you do all your work/get good grades so if your sick and you miss class after 3 absences your grade gets lowered. Don't expect to receive your mail in a remotely timely fashion....or sometimes at all. The resident director is too self-absorbed to distribute the mail until it has piled up in her tiny ass office and sits there for days. The whack ass cafeteria food gets your terribly sick and the people serving you are very unpleasant. The cafe is segregated most of the time and people are unfriendly. This school consists of hoodrats, emo punk kids and preppy cliques. Deciding to attend this "college" is the same as taking that $30,000 + dollars and putting it in a paper shredder. SAVE YOUR TIME & MONEY PLEASE. This school is a joke run by 25 year olds looking to get some money."

"I did go there last year and I don't anymore. I hated it haha. There are so many ignorant "gangsta" kids, and blonde morons that think they know everything about fashion and think they will be working for huge fashion companies in 2 years. The people are fake, and their are so few people that dorm there that the drama is insane. It's like going to a smaller high school, with more drama, and you have to live with them. Not to mention the buildings are in s*** condition. They are old, trashy, 5 story buildings with no elevtors. After going there for a year, I learned nothing that I didn't already learn in freshmen year of high school. The teachers aren't very intelligent and half the classes you take are just college students that need to teach in order to get their masters degree so they divide the classes into groups and assign them chapters and have them teach the class while they sit back and do nothing. It's a joke. The only nice thing about BSC is the location. Beautiful part of Boston and the brown stone buildings lining the park are amazing. But I really wouldn't recommend BSC if you are looking to further your education."
