"Chico State is a wonderful college, everything there is so close. When your hungry head to the bear and there are also several restaurants, thirsty for a drink, there's a lot of bars downtown. There's a 2 story gym right next to the parking lot which is right next to the main office which is on campus grounds. The professors are nice but still google and get some reviews before you take that professor if there is more than one professor for that class subject. They have a lot of clubs that you can join especially if your a business major. There are several places to study: the library, the cafeteria building, the gym and even the the outside lawn. I would only recommend this college if you don't mind the short distance of everything in one location."

"My college was a party school, it was easy to be distracted by the constant events that were going on. However, my school had really good programs for a few majors, like mine."

"I absolutely loved my college. Though many people get lost in the social aspect of college, especially in a well known drinking university, Chico State was the best experience of my life!"

"Pros: I can research my own interests in the area of psychology. It is less about coursework and more about teaching and researching. It will prepare one for PhD programs and teaching. Cons: Loans, loans, and more loans. Unlike other research based grad programs, the grants, stipends, and etc are almost non-existent, which forces me to work and take loans to pursue my education."

"The faculty in the physical anthropology department are wonderful. They go out of their way to provide support and encouragement. The program itself is challenging and fulfilling. My only complaint is that there is no financial support from the school in terms of tuition waivers or stipends."

"The MPA program gives me an opportunity not only to apply my previous professional experience in the military but also to pursue a career in autism research. It does not afford the versatility of other graduate programs, like an MBA, but I believe that the MPA program allows me to be in a position to make social changes."

"California State University, Chico, Nutrition Science graduate program is outstanding for a variety of reasons. However, I believe the most appealing aspect is the automatic entry into their accredited didactic internship. Not all graduate programs offer students the option to earn a Master's degree and a seamless transition into a didactic internship. Although this graduate program offers excellent support in areas relating to clinical and community nutrition, there is a lack of support in areas relating to alternative or holistic nutrition. Few universities emphasize this; such education would make CSU, Chico, a well rounded university. Despite the lack of support in the above mentioned research area, the CSU, Chico, Masters of Nutritional Science program has a plethora of positive attributes to suite the needs of most students."

"As a student who has been to multiple campuses, Chico State is by far the best. The faculty are truly interested in your success and have a genuine interest in your future and experience at Chico State. There is a club for almost anything you can think of and you can find that answer to any question you have at the Student Services. The food court is great and so are the people. On the other hand, not all colleges in the University are as well funded as others. Also, faculty change from department to department. In one case, you can have a very good experience and meet people who will do what ever it takes to insure the student have a good learning experience. Where others feel that you get what you get and don't throw a fit. All in all, I would highly recommend CSU, Chico to anyone who is looking for a great learning experience with great people."

"I am just beginning my graduate program so I cannot comment from personal experience on an academic standpoint quite yet, however I also completed my undergraduate years in this same program. Our program is small, and the faculty are few. This makes our experience extremely personal and interactive. Our class has become a family and our professors have made sure we have a complete and well rounded education. I have learned so much more than I could have expected in this program and am excited to continue doing so at the graduate level."

"The MSW program at Chico definitely has its pros and cons. Some of the faculty are amazing and really care about Social Work and us as students. Like any program, there are others who don't seem to share the same passion. I feel like there could be more support of the faculty in regards to supporting us in our internships and in the community. I have had a great experience, but some in my cohort have had a challenging time with their internships. The work load is definitely manageable. Chico is a great place. It's cheap to live here, great people and there are a lot of things to do."

"My graduate program offers wonderful field work experiences and great support from the faculty. However, they do seek for students not to be working during the program, which for many of us students is a problem."

"During my undergraduate education at CSU Chico I had the opportunity to develop positive relationships with faculty and peers. My positive experience prompted me to pursue their masters degree program. Positive aspects of the program include diversity of course work, and first priority when applying to the CSU Chico Dietetic Internship. The program emphasizes community nutrition education, which can be a pro or con depending upon the students interest."

"The M.F.T. program at CSUC has been successful in implementing a postmodern approach to the field of psychotherapy. In doing so, our therapists-in-training are learning to understand people for what they are: a product of their unique environment. By branching out beyond the medical-standpoint of therapy, we are better able to understand humans through working with persons and families of diversity. Laboratory based practicum courses allows students hands-on experience in working with persons of various races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, ages, sex, genders, and so forth. Financial resources can pose an issue for our program. For example, we sometimes experience recording glitches and lose valuable footage that needs to be reviewed by our supervisors. Regardless of setbacks, our graduate program continues to provide students and the community with extremely well-trained professionals who practice genuine and ethical therapy."

"The pros of the program come down to a select core of people inside the Credential program at CSU Chico. Two people in particular are consistently checking up on my progress and making sure that everything is in order for me to graduate in time. This has been a great help, I only wish the other workers in the program followed suit. Their is the negative; while two people shine, their are 20 others that dwindle on responsibility. It is a negative thing when I can only trust 2 people in the entire program to properly get back to me with correct information within a reasonable time frame. A pro to the con though is that I thrive when I am pushed to do things on my own without using people as a crutch. Not having too many people to help me has provided a great learning experience in individualism, something that I am proud to have."

"CSUC provides options for funding for its graduate students, even out-of-state students. The availability of tuition waivers is fantastic. The pay for serving as a GTA is low, however. While this is not the school's fault (it is a lack of state funding), it is difficult to make ends meet at times. In my specific program, the quality and difficulty of courses is not uniform for all graduate students. Certain cohorts have "easier" workloads than other cohorts, which seemingly devalues my degree. Most of the faculty are amazing and willing to give as much of their time as possible to the success of their graduate students. Overall, this is a great graduate program."
