"I really enjoyed being able to create my own schedule. I am not a morning person, so I usually didn't start class until 10:00 am, some semesters I started at noon. It was great. I also enjoyed meeting people that were different from who I normally would meet in high school. For example, there are older people in class with you, ROTC kids, etc. - lots of people with different backgrounds, jobs, and experiences that were interesting to hear about."

"College is a great social experience and not just about education."

"Sacramento State is a great college, but the old adage "you get out of it what you put in" really applies here. The school is definitely willing to help students, but you have to show initiative and create your own experiences. But that is what I enjoyed about this school: you are free to shape your own experience. I had a great experience because I took advantage of many academic and social opportunities available. I found most of the professors to be extremely friendly and personable. The only negative I could list is the often ineffectual administration which caused me many headaches. That is a common issue at many colleges, however."

"I think they could of challenged me a little more. Did not learn much to do well in interviews, had to hit the books during the summer to do well in interviews."

"I am currently in the M.S. Counseling (School Specialization) program at CSU-Sacramento and will be graduating this May 2015. I attended CSU-Sacramento for my undergrad at well (Majoring in Biological Sciences), and this campus has become home to me. The M.S. Counseling program is wonderful and the faculty and staff are supportive and extremely knowledgeable. One of the things I appreciate most is the diversity this college offers. The campus is beautiful with lots of trees and squirrels. The only con I can think of is the limited restaurants on campus compared with other schools, but other than that this school is highly recommended. In regards to my graduate program, I have learned a lot and have gained valuable experience working in the field. This M.S. Counseling program is CACREP accredited, which "ensures that students receive quality educational experience". We currently only have 4-5 full time faculty members, therefore that may be a con because part-time/adjunct professors may not know the course work as well as our full-time faculty members. I have met great friends and mentors in this program and am so glad I chose this program at this school."

"I am in the Master of Social Work Program and I love the environment that I am in. My professors are the best and my cohort. Everybody is supportive... I love the idea of internship place of two years because I learn a lot of it."

"CSUS is a great school. The professors are passionate and helpful. There is great transportation to campus from downtown Sacramento and the surrounding areas. Unfortunately, there is very little available financial aid"

"I am in my first semester at Sacramento State, and I am thoroughly enjoying it. It is providing me a college experience I never had before. I am an older non-traditional student, and I work full time while taking classes part time. The professors understanding of scheduling time, and the quality of the education I am receiving is unbeatable. It is a very highly competitive program, and the school is not easy to get into, but it is worth the effort to put in and try."

"Sacramento State is located in the heart of California, this makes this school a great place to be as far as location. As far as how valuable graduate students are to there programs, it seems that students prefer to attend schools that are willing to offer more financial support to their students. So far, even before our program has started, we had about 5 students drop out for financial reasons. CSUS does not support or offer any scholarships to their DPT students."

"The teachers at Sac State are amazing. During the time that i attended there I never had one bad teacher. They were all genuine and really there to help students. On the other hand the administration is terrible and their policy are terrible. They really need to re-evalaute their policies and practices and stop using the excuse of "we don't have enough money"."

"This university was a pleasant experience. I found that having good independent study skills and being able to work in a group setting were typically the way the instructors approached teaching. The professors would expect you to read a lot on your own and write either an individual essay or a group project to present to the class. This school offered scholarship opportunities and affordable prices."

"As a Biology student, I found the hands on, intensive laboratory experience immensely useful. The instructors were amazing, helpful and truly care about their students. I would strongly recommend that anyone in California pursuing a career in the Bio Sciences consider Sac State before a UC!"

"There definitely are a lot of great things about CSU Sacramento. The support from professors and the technology that is offered from the campus are amazing. Also it is a beautiful campus that offers a lot to its students. Social life is a major lacking point due to the fact that CSU Sacramento is more of a commuter school and students usually do not stay on campus outside of class time. It is academically challenging, but also rewarding at the same time. There are a good amount of opportunities in government in the Sacramento area."

"CSUS has helped develop my skills to continue my educational aspirations to receive competitive experience in research. This foundation has helped earn to further my educational goals by being accepted to a PhD program for the upcoming fall. I couldn't have done without the faculty support and the experience from the program."

"As a prospective educator in the post-secondary sciences, Sacramento State is offering me a great opportunity to work as a graduate teaching assistant. I will have hands on experience teaching college level courses before I graduate. I do have interests in teaching outside of biology, so I wish that the graduate program included courses in physics. Overall, I am very pleased with what CSUS has to offer."
