"This is what I would say to anyone who asked me if they should go to CSN for nursing, "CSN's positive is that they are an affordable option. If you can handle teaching yourself and balancing a toxic learning environment, then by all means go for it." The way this program handled the COVID situation was horribly poor. It was very clear and evident and most teachers were not technologically advanced enough to structure their lesson plans accordingly. A lot of the material was left for the students to learn on their own. Major concepts were never explained and it was on you to figure it out. An infuriating thing that this program/staff does is they expect the world from you. Nothing less than perfection all while the program itself is a mess. Students were left to figure out their class schedules a couple days before starting, teachers were never assigned to certain classes, students would show up to clinical without their instructor there, unclear deadlines, instructors publicly verbally abusing students in the hospitals and all of this with a 3% deduction on our overall grade hanging over our heads. There is no one to explain your grievances towards the program without the fear of backlash or expulsion from the program. It is absolutely ridiculous. There's no one holding this program and it's instructors accountable and that is a major problem until this year. The board of nursing came and talked to the students privately and there were about 50 of us and we let them hear it. Only now, is the staff showing a slight interest in what the students think about the program but it's really not enough to change the program. They need to figure out their communication within the program and what they expect from students. It's not fair for your first semester teacher to teach you to do something and then the next semester it's completely wrong and you get reprimanded for it. It's how the instructors in the program are teaching us?? It's just a lot of fear mongering throughout the program. You're met with vindictive instructors that clearly are still operating on the "we ate our young" mentality. Sorry no, you're in for a rude surprise because this younger generation isn't putting up with that behavior anymore. If you want respect, act with respect. Crazy to believe that in a profession that revolves around the CARE about others we get treated like we are the dumbest people alive. Please get your act together, you're instructors...not gods. A lot of the problems in this program are PURELY due to the fact that the staff, administration and students are not effectively communicating! It is 2022, there are about a million different ways to communicate. This shouldn't be such an issue! It's embarrassing and it's going to run this program into the ground if they don't figure it out. Anyway, I'm glad I'm done with this Clown School of Nursing. You've given me PTSD, it's a joke that you think people actually want to go back and get our bachelors from this dumpster fire."

"To put it bluntly, College of Southern Nevada (CSN) was my last resort and now I wish it wasn't. Reason being is because CSN has 3 campuses spread throughout the city, and while you might need one class at North Las Vegas there is another one you need that can be only taken at the Henderson campus. The problem is they don't have all the classes you need at one campus which causes many students to take the RTC bus throughout the day sometimes taking 3 to 4 hours depending on which campus you're going to. You live on Charleston and want to go to the Charleston campus to take all of your music courses? Too bad! Also, if you were the type of kid that didn't care for high school gossip and bs then don't be a part of any extra activities at CSN. Clubs become cliques very quickly and a game of he said she said. Degrees can also be a hassle to figure out as you may need 6 credits to cover the humanities part of your degree but 17 credits to complete the electives in your degree. However they only have classes that start at 1.50 a credit to a max of 4 credits, yet most electives are 3 credit courses that won't add up to 17 credits. Doesn't make sense, does it? They do this so you have to take a 4 credit class that costs more or another 3 credit course to cover that 1 credit. Always talk to a counselor that is for your particular degree DO NOT go to a general counselor at student services because they will confuse you. Financial aid will not pay for classes that you're on a wait list for, so beware when disbursement day comes and you're still not enrolled they will not pay for it. This can be extremely frustrating since good professors are taken up quickly. Most professors that work here will tell you that the reason they are still teaching is because of mortgage payments, the recession, or student debt. You can tell as most will do the bare minimum to help you or completely leave you to figure things out on your own. I have spent time and money on classes that aren't even towards my degree, because I didn't make a high enough score on my math assessments. I had to take 3 additional math courses to even get to college level math to complete my 1 math requirement. This is coming from a student with a 3.7 GPA and to deal with these inconveniences while maintaining good grades isn't easy. There are too many hoops to jump through to get the information you need. I am graduating next semester and I can't wait any longer to get the hell up out of here."

"Terrible on-line degree completion program for dental hygienists! The instructors treat 2 credit classes like 3 credits. Extensive homework, expect to spend 8 to 20 hrs a week on assignments. Grading scale is 96% an A which is utterly ridiculous especially if you want to pursue Masters in another fields of study. Communication with instructors about assignments is poor - it's as if they have never taught an on-line class. They changed the program to include summer terms AFTER enrollment. I would have spent double the cost for a better organized school. 1/2 of the students dropped after the 2nd semester. Consider all options before choosing this school!!"

"CSN Nursing Program is probably one of the best out there. It has a high pass rate for the NCLEX, and the professors prepare you for both the NCLEX and the real world of nursing. They want you to get as many skills and as much experience as possible. Make sure you are proficient in test taking and can decipher what a question is asking you. Also, if you need practice with math, do so well before your math exams as failing them twice is failure of the program!"

"College of Southern Nevada (CSN), successfully prepped me for the wonderful world of nursing! I graduated in 2013 and their nursing program was indeed very rigorous and challenging! That being said, I'm so glad I chose CSN for my nursing studies and absolutely recommend their nursing program and institution."

"I'm currently working on getting my education to get accepted in a Chiropractic School. I enjoy my time as a student at College of Southern Nevada - Las Vegas. There are classes available all day including weekends. With 3 main campuses and around 4 locations providing classes all over the valley."

"The school and courses are overall great. The hygiene program is truly intense (the most challenging thing as far as academics that I have ever endured.) You have to find your own patients in order to remain in the program........lots of stress"
