"Eastern Connecticut State University is a great school with a lot of opportunities both educationally and personally. A lot of the major programs here are fantastic, with professors who really care about their students and want to see them succeed. I graduated with a biology degree and was able to have good relationships with many different professors through different focus areas. They also offer a lot of support in terms of advisors, mentors, tutors and more."

"Eastern provided me with lies, cheating, double standards and a fight for a worthless piece of paper. The advisors had no idea what I needed to finish told me to go online and figure it out with no help. Found out bout a test I could habe taken to test out of a class after I finished up. The theatre professor went insane yelling accusing me of cheating while it ran amonk around the whole campus. I never cheated in my life. Career services was useless."

"Horrible. Teachers get in your face and yell at you. You tell the school nothing is done or they don't believe you. You get a email from your advisor saying the teachers yelling was your fault and you bring it on yourself and that you thrive with negative things. The financial aid sends you to register which send you to bursar which sends you to fin aid. They are in the same building looking at each other for Pete sake. Money delayed late fee. Horrible professors. Not prepare you for career. They just graduate you say find something you like and that people don't get jobs with their majors at all. Worthless arrogant money hungry short sighted."

"Eastern provided me with a plethora of opportunities. First, the clubs and organizations Eastern offered were plenty to fit a multitude of interests. I was able to join diversity clubs, vocal groups, dance groups, community service groups...the options were endless! Secondly, the Center for Community Engagement (CCE) had ample volunteer opportunities for students, most of which were within walking distance of the campus. Immersing myself in the community as a volunteer proved to be an enriching experience that helped me feel connected and of use to an impoverished Willimantic community. It also helped me understand the ways in which my education could be used to benefit more than just myself. Thirdly, Eastern's staff and professors were highly personable which was important to me. Coming from a small town, I really sought connections with professors that would know my name and recognize me in passing. This level of acknowledgement helped me feel as though I was a part of a community that cared for one another. I wasn't just another face amongst many others like many freshmen experience in their first year courses. Similarly, class sizes were small ranging anywhere from 6-35 max - another important asset when it comes to not only learning but also feeling recognized by professors and peers. Fourthly, I really enjoyed the housing Eastern offered. As far as CSU's go, Eastern had the lowest number of commuter students. The dormitories are impressively nice in comparison to other school's dorms and there are ample opportunities to improve ones housing from year to year by accruing something called priority points. My roommates and I already had our own private rooms by sophomore year thanks to the priority point system! Lastly, I absolutely adored my job on campus. Many students work and Eastern has multiple on-campus job opportunities. I was fortunate enough to be employed by the student center, the focal point of campus, and main hub for activities. Having a job on campus increased my familiarity with the functions of each department, further assisted in expanding my social circle, and provided new networking opportunities for me as I was able to associate with more members of the Eastern community through my work place. Overall, clubs and organizations, volunteer opportunities, relatable professors, small class sizes, preferable housing, and working on campus aided in my wonderful experience as a student at Eastern!"

"Eastern Connecticut State University was an affordable and great education. The opportunities to grow as a student and citizen are endless. Earth Science, in particular, was a very supportive program. The professors were always there to help and guide."

"I loved the school counseling program. Eastern has a unique was of incorporating theology into its classes without being overwhelming. The people I met at Eastern have become life long friends. We help and look out for each other. The curriculum taught at Eastern was very useful for the field. The only complaints I have are the intense schedule. However, I can't really complain too much about it as I signed up to be a full time student. I would have also like classes that addressed sexuality. I suppose they weren't offered because it was an education class. But they would have been useful."

"I had been to two schools before I attended eastern. When I went to eastern I realized that this place was like a second home for me. Most of the instructors were helpful and actually cared about the students and their ability to learn. I myself had instructors that helped me to the full extent and made sure that I graduated and while in class and out understood the material that was being taught to me"

"There is not much to say other than my rating. I mean yes they had transportation from building to the next but it is not a direct drop off. You have to go all the way around and that makes you late to you next class."
