Everglades University has a structure that is accommodating to students who are adults, work full time, have families and additional life responsibility. The academic structure of one class every two months works great with my schedule. The online library and research tools for academic databases is extensive. Due to the fluidity of classroom structure, the routine needed to flow from class to class seamlessly helps keep me focused on my ultimate education goals. I'm half-way through my degree and I can't say I feel I've come so far already because of how comfortable I have become with the expectations. Overall, if you are a person who can manage your time, self motivate and focused, the online environment is for you. Everglades makes it possible!

I feel like the classes aren't challenging enough. They all seem to be the same thing just a different subject; write discussions, take tests, write an essay and/or journals that don't even seem to get read just a random score assigned, mine are usually good but, no feedback is given most of the time as to how to better construct the research or anything. I'm not even sure at the time I go to graduate school if my research paper skills will be sufficient enough. Also the 'online library' is a piece... Read More of crap, I don't even know why they have it, the databases are okay but, the library platform is awful. The 'faculty's concern for individual students' is the WORST! My academic advisor only emails me when I 'haven't participated for a few days' not even checking that all of my work is done for that week, she never checks in to see if I feel comfortable about my classes or anything. The financial aid department is so horrible trying to get help figuring out paying for college or understanding student loans or any of it is a waste of time. I have wrote the financial aid department numerous times about needing help with private loans explaining that I can't talk on the phone most of the time and to email me, yet they completely ignore that and call and I can never get ahold of them. No one at this school actually cares about the students, which is disgusting and if the program wasn't so convenient for me with moving around, I'd quit the program and go to a better school.

I work 45-50 hour weeks, have a two year old, and married; I work for an Engineering firm, which requires me to travel. During my time at EU the staff, deans, and teachers have all assisted me through the entire way making it possible for me to maintain 4.0 CGPA. Since, the cost I pay is a large investment, I take ever opportunity to gain as much as I can from the textbooks and the classes. It has served me greatly at work. I've previously attended FSU, and the information I have retained at EU exceeds that of FSU. Even when the cost got to be too much when health insurance costs doubled, EU eliminated nearly $2,000 in debt and has helped me obtain grants. EU also provided me a $1,000 scholarship, which I was able to apply for last year. Overall, the university wants you to succeed. For me the cost was significantly less than any other university which offered a BS Construction Management in the online format.

I started the Alternative Medicine program through Everglades University in July of 2016 and I would definitely NOT recommend this to anyone. I asked to switch to the Science Track at the VERY BEGINNING of the semester (two days in), I sent an email to my Academic Advisor, to which she responded she would process it accordingly and change my classes to the ones required for that program. Next thing I know, I'm put into the wrong class, there's no way of withdrawing from classes on your student portal... Read More or anything, and she was unable to speak with me until the first week of this course was over (meaning the class was ONE QUARTER OF THE WAY THROUGH) and I had to switch to the class I was actually supposed to be in and start from the beginning while everyone else was already 1/4 of the way through. After lack of follow through, my next complaint would have to be their lack of caring for the students. It's all about money money money. They don't care what you want to do for a career, or where you would like this degree to take you. After reaching out for some help and guidance from my Academic "Advisor" this was made very clear to me from her apathetic attitude, and lack of advising. I expressed my frustrations to her as well about not being able to decide my classes and not feeling like I had any control over my education. I understand it's an online degree program, and every degree has it's requirements, but they also do not give you any sort of choice as to what classes you'll be taking and when. Furthermore, they truly DO NOT CARE about what you want. After I expressed my problems with having a lack of choice, Ms. Vermiglio and the Dean Dr. Mendez gave me two choices for classes - Nutrition or Biology, I stated I wanted to take Nutrition first. Only to be told that I had already fulfilled my nutrition requirement with an ANIMAL AND VETERINARY SCIENCE CLASS I had taken at a prior university (when I intended to be a veterinarian), and that I would be put in biology. When you want a degree in Alternative Medicine, nutrition is an absolute necessity in my eyes. Even after stating several times to both the dean and my academic advisor that I didn't care if I had already fulfilled the "requirement" I STILL wanted to take it, I was ignored. This degree program is a joke and I completely regret my decision to start here. It's extremely expensive, and not worth the expenses whatsoever. The classes aren't comprehensive enough, they're rushed and rather bland. The faculty and staff don't care about you. College is supposed to be a fun, information-filled, eye-opening adventure, NOTHING like this.

Two months ago, I spoke with 2 staff members, one being Michele Vermigliano, and the other I can't remember her name, but I made mention of withdrawing from classes after my current semester. I was told, byt Michele, classes ended in OCT, come to find out classes begin in OCT and since I entered the beginning class of the semester and not the ending, i own an extra semester and I had to call them again to remind them I wanted to drop even after... Read More they noted in their previous conversations that it was noted! $17,000 because it wasn't official cause it wasn't in writing even though I call and asked what do I need to do? All i get, contact us before the semester ends. I do and lo and behold, it's the beginning of a new semester. STAY AWAY, staff doesn't give a crap about you, just that green in your pocket.

I started my Alternative Medicine program in 2014. The admissions process was easy and well put together. However, the financial aid office was a mess. I was using my GI Bill. I had some difficulties and had to with draw from the program, that went without a hitch. I got my act together and went to re-enroll and they waived my reentry fee. They had me speak with FA and the gentleman that was in there was a vet and understood what need to be done. The class are fast but informative. You get out of... This School is a joke. If you have ever been to a traditional junior college or University you will be able to see that this is truly a waste of time. School is suppose to be exciting and challenging in the learning curve but the admissions process and financial aid were more stressful than the actual program in general. Read More a accurate review not just a post from an upset student. In ten years of going to College never had to work so hard to get direct answers related to what I am doing. Which makes no sense being in another state trying to attend a online university. With financial aid, VA benefits ect, watch out!!!! This money is disbursed quite a bit differently than most colleges. So, don't expect to collect a good portion of financial aid that you are approved for. It all goes to school then you wait for the VA to disbursed their payments. Very different. The few staff members I have spoken with excluding one have been professional and courteous. But overall I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE. Trust me.
