I would NOT recommend this school. I was only there for 1 class and dropped out. From day oneof orientation it was unorganized. I completely understand how college works as I have been to college before, just changing career paths.

Hard work is a must and dedication. However I believe if your paying money, especially the kind of money that I was charged you should feel as if you are being taught something. You are better off going to a bookstore, purchasing some books and learning on your own.

My 1 class that I withdrew from cost me 6000.00 which is a joke. I will continue my career path as a nurse but definately go to a school that I feel actually does something for the money I am PAYING them to do.

Please talk to current students before deciding to go

I just had to withdraw from fortis college in westerville(columbus oh) today. I lost $7,500 but had I tried to continue my education there I would have lost even more. They are UNORGANIZED. They loose everything you give them, currently our teachers were lecturing over the books we had but tests us on books the class before us had. So regardless of knowing the book front to back you could still fail. Their grading method is horrible. And their policys are ridiculous. They are currently trying to kick out people without telling them until the last min. to keep their money. Please do not go to fortis, save your money, and save the stress. Do not make the mistake I did. I am now transferring to Hondros and couldn't be more relieved.

It is poorly managed, and it is run by teachers and the school officals in a disruptive way. Run for your dear life. I had the worst nightmare in this school. They don't have enough clinical sites, and they are biased in their clinical evaluations. It is a horrible school.

Fortis college is the most UNorganized school you could ever attend. You can't trust this school for anything. I advise anyone to not waste their time nor money. I am in the dental assisting program and the teachers are the worst. They aren't even teachers, they have no previous background in teaching.

You will not become certified upon graduation although they tell you that you will when you sign up and pay all the money that you do. Teachers want to speed through the course super fast to have three weeks of sitting around chatting while you should be studying.

I honestly am speaking as a CURRENT student at fortis, please do your research before enrolling to this school. I wish I did. School is an important investment and I would hate to see this school get more and more people to invest their money into this school . You would get a much better education at a regular old 4 year university. It will give you a much better outlook of a REAL college.

This is a great school nothing is misunderstood. It's like they're training for the job market, you know to punctual, do as your asked.

As far as a job though, I have realized that in the paperwork that you sign there is no guarantee of a job, they do help you find one, but they cant make anyone hire you. I liked it though. I received good life skills and career skills.

After reading the comments below I was confused by the negativity. I just finished my medical billing and coding program with Fortis and I'm in heaven right now. Not only they provided me with a laptop and all my textbooks but they FOUND ME A REALLY GOOD JOB!!!

School is not supposed to be a joyride..You'll get what you put your time into. I studied my butt off to get where I am now. They provided me with Financial Aid and I loved my professors. They were very attentive to my needs and because I took the online program it was more convinient for me to make my own schedule.

I already reffered couple my friends to the college and they love it as well. I would give this college a big thumbs up!! Good Luck to those who are interested in getting a degree from FORTIS College!! I did!!

This program was a joke, the main director of the Aesthetics Depaartment was hardly there, the teacher that I had didn't even look the part for the program. I had spent more time just reading the material out of my book than someone accually standing in front of the classroom making sure the students are absorbing the information.

The parking at the school was out of this world, they had more students than they had parking spaces. The open door policy is also a joke because if you wanted to get in and make a comment about something they would tell you to come back another time with they joked and fooled around with the other staff members. Make sure you observe this school before you register and I mean sit in the classroom so you could see for yourself.

Gulf Coast College has good programs but when it comes to the administration, no one is able to answer a question without referring you to someone else. I got the biggest run around and no one was able to give me a straight answer. I would call or write and it would take a week or two to hear back! The instruction was not bad but the admnistration and the way the school is run is really lacking.
