Degree: Business
Graduation Year: 2014

Whoever wrote do your homework before starting a program like this is correct. I went to Fortis on-line to get my bachelor's in business management. I already worked the field for over 30 years without the paper, but times have changed and corporations want them. For the most part the teachers I had really knew their stuff and were very helpful, although I could have taught them as well, they didn't have the application part. Books and real life are definitely two different things. I found that when dealing with Fortis, it is all about the money, not only do they lie, and cheat, they also change grades. If you go here protect yourself, take screen shots often of your grades and credits. They cut me out of class for financial reasons having to do with year past taxes, something stupid, 2 weeks before graduation, that hurt in more than one way. Not to mention they had also changed a grade and insisted I take the class over again, of course for more money. You also need to be aware that one department does not know what the other department is doing, they are not located in the same place. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

I think that Fortis Online is a great college regarding the academics side. They have a lot of great teachers who really seem to to care about helping achieve your goals. They also have a really good academic support team who really try to make sure that you stay focused and reach your full potential. The only department that I feel could really use a lot of improvement and possibly even a whole new staff is the financial aid department. They take forever to respond to you when you leave a message or email if they respond back at all. When they finally respond back they usually tell you just enough to get you to stop calling or emailing. They also take forever to send you the balance of what's left once your tuition and books have been paid. In closing I would recommend Fortis Online as a great school but you have to stay on top of the financial aid department because their services really leave something to be desired.

Degree: Graphic Design
Graduation Year: 2014

I’m very disappointed with this school. I feel I’m not receiving a quality education for the price I’m paying. For starters, the instructors aren’t much good at answering questions and the classes are way too short. You’re crammed with 2 classes every five weeks without any breaks. This just isn’t enough time to be productive, and to efficiently retain information. Most of the instructors set up discussion areas for students which are mandatory for attendance, but rarely participate in the discussions themselves. The posts are not really conversations at all, but rather people posting and not really communicating with each other which is why the whole thing about having a classroom discussion area is pointless. The staff is not available when you need them; as was stated they would be when I was signing on. Whenever I try to reach someone, I mostly get the answering machine and when leaving messages, I rarely ever get a call back. The courses seem to be out of order and unorganized; for example, taking a web building course before going over basic HTML/CSS, you’re expected to just get right in there without the basics which is very frustrating. There are so many times I feel like giving up or transferring to another school but I have come this far and I don’t want to have to start over at this point in my life. I recently found out on top of everything else, the credits I’ve earned so far are non-transferable. It will be very interesting to see exactly how knowledgeable in my field I’m going to be after graduating from this school.

Degree: Health Sciences
Graduation Year: 2014

IT HAS BEEN A TRIP FROM HELL AND BACK TRYING TO GET STARTED. THEY KEPT HAVING ME CHANGE PAPERWORK RE-SEND INFORMATION AND TELL ME THAT WAS IT, BUT CALL BACK DAYS LATER WANTING SOMETHING ELSE. THEY ARE VERY UNORGANIZED AND THEY DO NOT MAKE GOOD WITH MAKING APPOINTMENT TIMES. I SHOULD HAVE STAYED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX BUT I WILL RETURN THERE FOR MY B.A.

I WILL NOT GIVE THIS SCHOOL ANOTHER DIME OF ANY MONEY THAT I HAVE TO PAY BACK. I GRADUATE WITH MY ASSOCIATES IN AUG 14 AND I AM DONE. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL. THEY TELL YOU WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO HEAR THAN ONCE YOU HAVE GOTTEN YOURSELF INVOLVED ITS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DEMEANOR AND APPROACH TO YOU AND YOUR PERSONAL LIFE. ITS HORRIBLE
