"Professors pick favorites, cater to those favorites. It is an unfair system, professors act as though they are superior to all without any regard to students ideas or thoughts. Many are condescending to students, two in particular come to mind and they play a huge role in the completion of the program. Find another option for NP school if you can. Hope this helps anyone looking to pursue a degree as a NP."

"HORRIBLE! The professors are unprofessional and they do not CARE about the students. Professors are unorganized and do not cover material to help students succeed! It’s like they want students to fail! Very stressful environment due to non organization and lack of preparation on their part! DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL"

"This program is by far the WORST program in the world. The professors are unprofessional, unorganized, and VERY incompetent. They do not care if you are struggling financially or health wise (even when they claim that they do) and will NOT do anything if you are having issues because of THEIR MISTAKES. DO NOT ATTEND THIS PROGRAM I PROMISE YOU WILL REGRET IT."

"My time spent at Francis Marion University was time well spent. Francis Marion is a very affordable school and prides itself as such. I was able to attend a 4 year school and not worry about how my education would be paid for. I was able to get a great education in biology and learn so much during my time there."

"It takes a lot of work to succeed at this university, but if you can find ways to standout and interact with the professors you can go far. The campus has a nice environment and isn't too large. There are several opportunities to study if you take the initiative. There are new things happening all the time and the student body is constantly changing."

"Hi. CACREP accreditation for a school the gives Masters in Psychology is a MUST today. Why is the school still not accredited? I've moved around and have different LPC licenses and had to go back three times to take classes to full fill licensure requirements. Also since they're not cacrep accredited I had to take the national mental health exam years later, along with the NCE that I had to take in South Carolina right after graduation. If you're in private practice then you must have cacrep accreditation in order to be licensed with some of the major insurance companies. The university has known about this for many years and still has not gotten the accreditation. Highly disappointing."

"Francis Marion University is an amazing school to attend. I am currently enrolled in the Masters of Physician Assistant program and I enjoy every moment of learning! Being that I attended Francis Marion University as an undergraduate student, I knew the quality of education that I would be receiving as a graduate student. I knew that when I graduated from this program, I would be very well educated and knowledgeable in my field. One interesting fact about this program is that it is brand new to the school! My cohort is actually the first to matriculate and so we are all learning as we go. Even though this is a new program, I have never doubted the success of myself of fellow students, or the competence of our professors. The class size is small so it enables up to learn in a family-like environment. Small size classes allow for more attentive professor-student relationships. This is especially important when we have questions about coursework that need to be clarified. If there are any students contemplating applying to this program, I would greatly encourage them to do so. It is an amazing experience to be a part of history and representing the outstanding education that this school has to offer. I know for sure that when I begin my clinicals, I will have the information that I need to be an asset to any healthcare environment that I am placed in. Francis Marion University has continued to exceed my expectations and I will be forever grateful for their confidence in me."

"Francis Marion University (FMU) offers a wide variety of undergraduate degrees in the School of Business, School of Education, and School of Health Sciences. The University also offers graduate programs in business, education, psychology and nursing, and Physician Assistant Studies. I pursued the BSN program at FMU because the whole program was offered online. This allowed me as a parent to still have time with my family and be able to work a fulltime job. The facility and staff were very supportive, available, and ready to help in any way possible. I am now pursing my Family Nurse Practioner Graduate Degree and will began this fall. The majority of the full-time faculty hold doctoral or terminal degrees. My personal professors cheerfully shared their knowledge, skills, and time. I am confident I will receive the same attentive help as I have in the past. This program is a hybrid program with one day of class time and the rest of the program in available on line. The one day a week class is offered the same day for the whole program which allows you to plan ahead, if you chose to continue working during the course of study. I have found FMU to offer an excellent learning environment, small enough to give students individualized attention from faculty and staff, and large enough to let students grow their prospects. The college is located close to downtown Florence which offers many outlets of entertainment for students when they need a break from studying. I am excited and looking forward to The Luther F. Carter Center for Health Sciences that will be opening this fall. It will exemplify the forthcoming of health and medical education at FMU and in the Pee Dee. The Center will accommodate FMUs Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Education Program, the new Physicians Assistant Program, Clinical Psychology Masters Program, and USCs 3rd- and 4th- year Medical Student Clinical Programs. Students will find that anyone can fit in at FMU. There are diverse cultures, races, programs, groups, and ages. There is a place for everyone at FMU."

"Francis Marion University is a small school in South Carolina and is ideal for someone who wants and small town feel and loves specialized attention. The graduate program I am currently enrolled in has only six students; therefore, students really get to know there professors. Although the Francis University is small the workload is challenging. Francis Marion hires quality professors the expect all students to reach there optimal. Although there have been many pros while attending Francis Marion University, there are also some cons. Francis Marion's location is off of a highway and there is nothing within 5 miles to entertain students. In addition, there only seems to be one standard culture in this area; therefore, Francis Marion University lacks diversity. Overall, I would say that the pros outweigh the cons and Francis Marion is a great university."
