Degree: Communications
Graduation Year: 2011

The George Washington University is an excellent choice for undergraduate admissions! With it's location in the heart of DC, the culture is unbeatable. Plus, all students attending for 4 years get to live in DC during a US Presidential Election and Inauguration, which is a priceless experience. Course and academics are incredible and you will have a leg up from other students who do not get the outlet of DC in their fingertips.

Degree: International Relations and Affairs
Graduation Year: 2014

I felt that the Elliott School of International Affairs was an excellent institution for me to receive my education in International Affairs. I had the opportunity to learn from professors who were professionals or had been professionals in the subject they were teaching. For example, my International Economics, Finance professor was a consultant at the World Bank. This was invaluable to me as a student.

If you want an isolated campus, there are plenty of other options, but GW provides endless real-world work/internship/education opportunities. The GW brand is strong and growing.

My school was a perfect fit for me. It allowed me to gain the academic and professional skills I needed, while having a vibrant student life and social scene. It had a perfect balance.

Would you get the same degree if you could start over?

Yes I would have. International affairs has always been my passion.

What advice can you offer other students?

In college, explore all your interests. Do not be afraid to find out who you truly are and go for it. College is about leaving your comfort zone.

GWU was perfect for me. Sure there are over-priviliged kids, but there are kids from all walks of life. I never felt discriminated against, probably because there are so many international students, and the professors were very good. I highly value my education from GWU and do not regret my decision to go there. I recommend GWU to everyone, especially because the location is perfect for young professionals.

Would you get the same degree if you could start over?

I probably would, just because I'm fascinated by psycology and I value the knowledge I gained from that experience. Unless you want to go into a specific field, say business, then I'm not entirely sure the field of study plays a big role. I am working for international law enforcement now, but I guess it helped that I minored in criminal justice. I'm actually going back to GW for my master's in International Development Studies, and my liberal arts background, coupled with my minor in business administration really came in handy.
