"Over great function and communication. Season instructions as a guide line. Subject on point and knowledge through out the campus. Just wish it would be somewhat better and changes though out the degree plans. Offer product for such as tools for all parties"

"The people on campus are wonderful, and most professors truly care about student success--academic, professional, and personal. Due the relatively low teacher-student ratio, professors are usually able to take time to talk one-on-one with students, advising them in courses, degrees, minors, and just generally how to get through college. The campus is beautiful, and though the insides of the buildings and the classrooms could use some sprucing up, they're not bad. I would caution against this school, though, in light of the administrative troubles and investigations into the "missing" budget and President Glenn. There have been several program shut-downs and good professors let go, despite administration having all received raises. The golf club received a $1 million piece of equipment (that camera that measures the speed of balls when you hit them), and yet the philosophy department is in danger of extinction. To save certain programs at this school would require an influx of students to those programs specifically, but in light of the changing tactics of recruitment officers for the school I doubt that will happen. If you attend HSU, go for the networking and friendship, with your degree(s) as a springboard to further education at bigger institutions."

"Henderson State was a great place to call home for the past four years. My college experience was everything I could ask for. At the start of my college career I started out in the wrong major, and then I fell behind because I was not content. With all honesty, I failed a class, and my GPA slipped. I believe that was the moment I realized something wasnt right. I can say I matured a lot when I transitioned into a sophomore. Once I got on the right track and found sports management, there has been an increase in my GPA and all around happiness and motivation to get my work done. I even got control of my financial responsibilities like housing, personal and education. The professors in sport management are awesome. They are all very genuine and understanding and all around great people! I love Henderson State and will be continuing my education as a graduate student, but all online this time! I couldn't give up being a Reddie just yet."

"The professors were incredible and really cared about their students. The only real negative thing was that I lived off campus and the parking situation was less than desirable. I think that has improved some over the years. Other than that, the school was a great place to get my education."

"The experience I had at Henderson State University was top-notch. I developed personal relationships with peers and professors and learned more than I ever thought possible. My time at Henderson made me a better person. I would not be who I am today if it weren't for my time there."

"As a non-traditional student, I found Henderson State University to be a very welcoming place. The campus is beautiful, and the instructors are so helpful. The education department is amazing as well as the social studies department. At HSU, if you have a question, you can be sure that you will receive an answer. When walking about the campus, the University President is sure to speak and carry on a conversation that makes you feel like an old friend. I love Henderson State University. It is truly the school with a heart."

"Tell us about your college experience.I enjoyed school because of the social interaction and friendships I made. There were a few great teachers in our business program that really made the difference. The other teachers lacked care about the students which made for lackluster classes. School was a good fit as it allowed me to better myself towards a career I enjoy.Would you get the same degree if you could start over?I would not take the same degree. I would go with an Accounting degree. While Finance and Accounting are similar, most finance jobs can be taken with an accounting degree but not vice-versa. I think it would just open up my possibilities and not constrain me from those I have now. What advice can you offer other students?Live on campus for at least one year. Enjoy the time, friends, and fun you will have but do not forget to take class seriously. Participate in extracurricular activities, you will not regret it."

"The graduate school is very well run. Each student of the MLA program is required to take the TOB classes, which are great classes where we speak more in depth about important works of literature we may have just skimmed over in our previous education, and the teachers take it further and teach us to see how all aspects are connected: the history of the time period in which it was written, the society of people, the psychology of the people, political and economical aspects, etc. These classes set the tone for the MLA program and what we are expected to take on and how students should consider all aspects of any given area of study."

"My program offers top-quality professors with relevant experience to my field of study. They are willing to help guide students on the best path towards their future careers and do their best to make the environment feel more like a family setting to make students comfortable."
