"For anyone with the desire to go to medical school but who has had prior academic setbacks, the Heritage University Master of Arts in Medical Sciences (MAMS) program is for you. After being rejected by every medical school I applied to in the 2017-2018 cycle (committees cited my low GPA), I knew I needed to significantly strengthen my academics. I was living in Maine at the time, and the thought of uprooting my life to move across the country to Washington seemed scary. However, I wanted to do whatever it took to ensure I would not be rejected again. Since starting the program in August 2018, I have taken scientific foundations of medicine classes with first-year medical students at Pacific Northwest University of Health Science, which helped me re-learn how to study and highlighted my ability to handle medical school; health psychology and bio-medical ethics, topics that aren't covered much in medical school yet are essential in medicine; clinical skills, which gave me an introduction to performing the basic patient exams; and pharmacogenomics alongside first year pharmacy students to better understand drug interactions in the body. Even as master's students, we have been allowed to participate in events at the medical school, and the medical students have made us feel welcome on their campus. With Heritage located on tribal land, I have also had unique opportunities to learn about Native American culture that I wouldn't have gotten elsewhere. Since day one, the faculty and staff have supported me academically and emotionally and have given me direction as I re-applied to schools. I was recently accepted to medical school and will be starting this fall. The MAMS program has given me the confidence and the skills to know that I will excel. Coming to Heritage was the best decision I could have made."

"I graduated this year with my Masters degree in Business Management. The program was very helpful and quick to complete. I dual enrolled with my bachelors degree and was able to complete my masters degree within 2 semesters. I had a great experience with Herzing and appreciate everything that I was taught throughout my course."

"Often times the communication between departments within the university failed, and some university staff expressed a nonchalant attitude toward student concerns. The professors I received instruction from were skilled through practical experience in the field, and held a rigorous, high standard of expectation for all students. The tuition is substantially higher than a public university, and Heritage is less well known, perhaps still establishing a reputation."

"Terrific, experienced faculty with a well rounded class. 32:1 ratio which is great for PA school. Several opportunities for hands on learning. We work very closely with the local medical school to truly collaborate in our learning."

"The medical science graduate program is an excellent value. The faculty are innovative and care about the students. The program is limited in its uses after graduation if you aren't applying to a professional school."
