"This school was terrible!!!!! I attended one semester here and absolutely hated it. Everything that is promised at tours and orientation does not come true. The instructors were lazy and didn't care about their whether their students succeeded or not and many of them said this was because they worked at other colleges. For the amount of money I was paying it was definitely not worth the level of education I received. I stayed on campus and the food was terrible!!!! I selected random for my roommate and it seemed as though they selected someone the complete opposite of me. When I wanted to change my roommate they stated there were no available rooms. They assign roommates before orientation so if you meet someone at orientation... goodluck trying to room together! Everyone that goes here is rude! The only thing to do on the weekends and weekdays is party so if you don't do that good luck having a social life because there is no activities set up by the school. This school ruined my college experience and cost a pretty penny for a miserable experience."

"Good professors, tuition was not cheap, even with a lot of scholarships, I would advise to find scholarships on-line to help with tuition. Had to take a lot of liberal arts classes, which I did not think was necessary. I think it would have been helpful to take more classes in sociology and psychology instead."

"Hofstra is a great school. You learn from people who have been in the industry and know what the real world uses are for the stuff you are learning."

"Hofstra has a very strong student life and excellent multicultural and LGBT programs. Hofstra rewards creative people who take initiative and show leadership potential. I have the best memories of my life at Hofstra."

"Hofstra University is a decent school. It is quite expensive though and the exams are not easy. Most of the exams in my program were long answer. I am planning on going back to graduate school because it is difficult to make a comfortable salary with only a Biology degree. It is still rewarding to have a degree though."

"Hofstra University has been a great fit for me. It has provided me with ample opportunities to learn and gain experience in my field. The program I was apart of is prestigious and is well known out in the field. All of the professors in my field have been so supportive and helped me succeed. I enjoyed the program so much, that I decided to continue on to obtain my Master's Degree through Hofstra's Five-Year program. Thus far. that program has been one of the best decisions I have made. I have learned so much and am getting ample preparation for working in the field."

"My time at Hofstra has really been quite the learning experience. It did not only make me grow academically but I've grown significantly all around. Whilst there was a lot of academic support from professors, the nature of the learning environment lends itself to autonomy. The campus life may not have been very diversified but diversity is present and well celebrated, through clubs and other campus activities. My biggest issue with Hofstra was with the registrar and student financial services. They are not very accommodating to students' financial needs and act very bureaucratic to the point where it can get in the way of a student's education. The advisors were also not well assigned to students based on their majors and as such many of my peers and myself included run into problems with registering for the right classes."

"Hofstra University changed my life. I grew up in a poor socio-economic background in Queens, NY. Hofstra offered me a full scholarship through the NOAH program. I realized in order to change my life I first had to change the people around me. I met scholars, dreamers, and professors who saw the potential in humanity. I gained clinical knowledge in Paychology, research and medicine. Because of Hofstra University, I have been admitted to PA school at Charles Drew University and am blessed to have finally made it out of my neighborhood. I will continue to help lead other students to greatness as Hofstra has led me!"

"My undergraduate degree was in business and my masters in elementary Ed has made me feel just as prepared for the world of teaching as the people who have earned their undergraduate degree in teaching. Kind, empathetic, knowledgeable professors. Most of whom are currently teachers or principals."

"Coming to Hofstra was by far one of the best decisions I have ever made! The campus vibe is everything that I was looking for in a college, and I could not be happier here. I have made amazing friends that will last a lifetime, and the professors are some of the best that I've ever encountered. One of them is actually currently in the process of helping me get my first internship! They're all so interested & invested in your success, and that was something that I was really looking for in a college. You're not just another name or face, and that itself is extremely helpful when trying to figure out what you want to do after college. Not only that, but the fact that it's only 30 minutes from the city by train is AMAZING! I would strongly recommend Hofstra to anybody who is looking for a great education, while at the same time ready to have experiences & friends that will last a lifetime."

"Studying at Hofstra was definitely a great decision for me and my career. I came into undergrad undecided in what science I wanted to study, but very sure about wanting to pursue medicine after graduating. The chemistry curriculum provided the possibility to create a very individualized yet challenging curriculum. Additionally, I had the privilege of presenting at two national American Chemical Society conferences with my expenses taken care of by the Honors College. As a liberal arts college, there is a seemingly endless amount of diversity in courses and extracurricular activities that you can take to round you out as a student and a person. The tuition is a little pricey, but there are many scholarships provided by the school if you demonstrate your drive to learn through academic excellence."

"Some professors explain things in a simple way while others explain things in complicated ways. There is usually around 100 to 200 pages of reading each week. They give scholarships to 90% of incoming students but only 40% can keep 100% of the scholarships."

"Hofstra has a great I/O Psychology program, with knowledgeable teachers, and a great paid internship opportunity. I enjoyed the campus as well, as it was very beautiful, and different from going to a college in the city. The grad dorms were also very nice."

"Hofstra University is a prestigious institution. The university as a whole understands the importance of education. Specifically, Hofstra emphasizes that the function of education is to train our minds to think intensively and to think critically. Moreover, the reason behind Hofstra's success lies within the small class sizes. Admittedly, class size depends on the major the student decides to pick up; however, I always had about 15-20 students in my courses at any one time. Clearly, this promotes further attention per student. Similarly, Hofstra has fantastic professors who are not fantastic because they are easy. The professors truly challenge their students, and force them to gain the highest level of education through rigorous studies and adaptation to course material overall. Personally, I attribute my success to Hofstra University. I was accepted into the Charles Drew PA Program in California and I thank Hofstra for all of the preparation. -A.R. Jr."

"I cannot say enough about the education and opportunities I'm receiving at Hofstra. I've had the opportunity to start a community based organization, attend a professional conference paid for by Hofstra, and network with professionals in my field. Our professors are active and knowledgeable in the field of Public Health and our students are active in taking advantage of all the opportunities presented to them. My time at Hofstra has been the best experience of my life as it has defined my career goals as well as the path that is set before me."

"Hofstra provided me with a great education; it definitely prepared me for my future. It did however, have a veery poor support system. There were favorite students that were taken care of, others had to find their own way. I definitely learned how to fight for myself constantly and how to be self-sufficient because of the lack of assistance, but it has helped me with a further degree. Very, very expensive with a terrible financial aid office. Overall, I would recommend for the education, but get ready to pay a lot, and have little assistance."
