"Okay, where to start. Well my fiance and I went to this school to just check it out. Well the lady trying to get us to join, was basically shoving the school down our throats to join that day and made me feel rushed. My fiance joined that day, but I waited later that week because I had to talk to the head person. After talking to the head guy, she was talked into it down. After talking with another recruiter, I joined. I should have went with my gut and not joined. Honestly I didn't learn much from the teachers, and basically this could have been a online class. Saying this because all the "teaching" was literally online.. To sum it up don't go here, it is not worth it. But the teachers were nice, I'll give them that."

"The college is a joke. I have instructors teaching English but don't speak it, teaching Linux but openly admit they have never used it or experienced it aside from what the book says, and teachers who give grades for nothing. For example, I submitted a paper with the following "Hello, my name is Jerid" Copy and pasted for 5 pages. I got a 100% on that. My courses are all online based, and I needed help in my college math. I drove to the campus in Grand rapids some 45 miles away, only to be told I need to leave and seek help via online tutors as the campus is not allowed to assist me. Now im dealing with a death in the family, and while arranging funeral related events I have neglected my course work. The instructors response, "You are not busy 24 hours out of the day. You need to better micro manage your time and get me your assignments." Seriously? This school or atleast the online only version of it is pure rubbish. I wish I never started it because while my aim is IT Cyber security, I have found that we learn entry level nothing. I know basic coding, have a masters certificate in Hardware, and ever microsoft operating system from Windows 95 to Windows 10, but they count for nothing. My military training, counts for nothing. My former college credits including core class credits count for nothing. My employer does not recognize this "Nationally" accredited college due to past issues of document falsification so there is no ED assist grants for that. The federal Government (My ultimate goal or career path) no longer recognizes the cyber security program from this school. I feel really lied to and mislead. So far its cost me around $15,000 and im not sure how to get away from that."

"It's been 4 years since getting my degree and a dead fish has more value than the 40+k I'm in the hole for a useless piece of paper. I regret ever going to this school, went to make a better future and it's been nothing but a nightmare. It should be illegal for schools to make use false hope to bring in students to fill their pockets."

"Do not go to this school. They tried to make me pay my administrative fees and admission fees of 300 dollars multiple times and then sent a collection agency after me. The tuition itself is astronomical for the education you are receiving and employers don't take it seriously. Only attend this school if you have loads of extra money you don't want. Please do yourself a favor and don't go there it could really ruin your life if you don't know what your getting in to."

"Excellent instructors and course material. ITT prepared me well for a career in the IT space and opened many doors for me. In addition, ITT is flexible with work schedules so that someone taking care of a family can still get a great education. I have had nothing but positive experiences with ITT."

"I had wanted to get my bachelor's degree, yeah, wished I had done more research before attending ITT. I had an associates, so only 2 years to complete the bachelor's. I am now graduated, with no job prospects, no help from career services, and $70000.00 dollars in debt. Yes, $70000.00 for 2 years.......and the interest will only grow. I had one employer tell me the degree was worth no more than toilet paper, it was not recognized. I did graduate with a 3.75, and I thought since I was an older student, it would be easy to find a job, I was wrong. I could have attended an Ivy league school for a doctorate and still would have been cheaper. THANKS for nothing!!!!"

"For those of you considering attending ITT Technical Institute, please read this review before you do. I attended ITT Tech from 2006 - 2008 studying Computer Drafting and Design. For starters, the amount of useful information you will receive is of no real use in the real world. Some of this information is common sense and is not necessary for a career in CDD. You will learn more on your own than you will in class. For example, one of the courses you will take is College Physics. I learned 20 times as much AFTER graduation just from studying on my own. DO NOT be lured in by the casual way they make student loans sound. They will tell you "You can pay all the interest while you're in school and that will help tremendously." The price for a two year education at ITT is $40,000+. While this doesn't seem like a lot, you could go to a junior college for less than 10% of that. I started working at a job and my supervisor at the time had gone to a junior college who earned the SAME degree for just over $2,500 dollars!!! PLEASE consider cheaper alternatives to ITT....and PLEASE DO NOT believe the stories you hear on TV! If you do not plan on starting a business after ITT, it will leave you in a pit of debt! It's a sad testament when people ask me what's the biggest thing I regret in my life and I tell them....going to school at ITT Tech!"

"After completing a few courses with ITT, I decided to transfer to the local college to get some actually classroom time. I found out quickly, that the local community college and even the other colleges and universities near by would not accept one credit from ITT. SO long story short, i would not even waste your time with this place. If local colleges wont accept it, then what about when time comes to find a job. How will employers look at ITT on the resume.."

"This school was awful I am very good with computers and work well with others. This school did not make any sense, The work was unnecessarily hard, the teachers either gave me attitude or didn't know what they were talking about. In order for me to get a job in Chicago I had to delete the school from my resume. At one interview an employer said he would never hire those from itt tech because they do not support any current technology. I am stuck with a $13000 bill that has only diminished my opportunity in a big city. I am telling anyone that reads these reviews please take every review into consideration."

"When I started at ITT Online, I had a really good experience. The instructors were very communicative and prompt. I managed to do very well in my classes. For the first time, I managed to get a 4.0 GPA. My family was really proud. Then came the Electronics courses. When I started DC-AC Electronics, the student toolkit did not come in on time. As a result of this, I was a week behind on all labs, which constituted a majority of my grade. To top this off, I had a hard time finding the extra resources for the provided textbook. I had contacted the instructor about this, but instead of directing me straight to the resources (and giving me a reminder of noting where the resources were for future reference, which is understandable), he had simply said to look in the course materials, adding to the the already growing frustration of catching up on late work. Unfortunately, due to an emergency shifts at my job, I had to retake the course. The situation got even worse when I started my Solid State Devices course. Some of the materials that were required in the labs I didn't even have (for example, I only had one 1uF electrolytic capacitor shipped with the toolkit when the lab required two.). Also, I ended up having to research substitutes for some of the components. For example, lets say that lab required an integrated circuit chip with the code Axx. But I do not have an IC chip Axx. I only have IC chip Zxx's, Txx's, and a couple of Dxx's. If I use the wrong component, I could end up either frying the circuit, frying the myDAQ, or lock up my computer from software issues. So I now have to see if one of these is a substitute. After some time I had found out that a Txx IC chip should be an acceptable substitute. However, I now have more concerns. The readings will be different than intended, as well as the settings the circuit has to run on. I definitely have to cross my fingers since now I am not sure if I am doing the assignment correctly. Contacting the instructor or another student was quite frustrating at best. Most of the students did not respond at all, and when one did, they were in the same boat as I was. When I try to contact the instructor, especially when there was an issue with the assignment that I needed to have resolved as soon as possible (mainly the labs), I could not get a timely response. (Unlike my other instructors, in which I would get a response the same day, if not early the next day at the latest.) Sometimes I would not get a response until sometime in the next week, long after the assignment was due. Once again it ended up in a vicious cycle. My computer being repaired (a fault on my behalf) made it even worse. I was originally hoping to drop this course since I was transferring to another school. However, I was told by student support that, since I was under the Opportunities Scholarship, I had no choice but to finish the course, which does not make sense, since (please correct me if I made an error) the scholarship only required two classes during the quarter (I'm registered for three: Composition 1, DC-AC Electronics, and Solid State Devices. I have already completed Composition 1 and DC-AC Electronics) and a minimum 2.0 GPA. I am now afraid that my failure in Solid State Electronics will opt me out of the Scholarship, which I really need to cover the costs that I am not able to pay at this time. When it comes to the Electronic course sessions by themselves, the classes are far too fast paced. Five to six weeks is a short amount of time to cram in a very large amount of information. In my opinion, Electronics is a very complicated subject, more complicated than Composition and Algebra, maybe even Calculus, and it should never be rushed. Due to the shortness and intensity of the sessions, I felt that I had actually barely learned anything. I just simply went through the motions of completing the assignments. And that's not a good thing, since it would impact me negatively in the long run. There also needs to be more videos on the Electronics subject. Videos are a great way to bridge the gap between the words describing how something works and showing how something works physically. Also, real-world equipment, like an actual Oscillator, should be considered. Overall, the general ed. online classes were very well planned out. However, even though it has potential, the Electronics courses need a little bit more work. "

"I attended ITT & was passing classes with honors, still wasn't feeling like I had learned too much. It is way too easy and the education provided for Legal Assistants was mediocre. I felt like I wasted a lot of money on mediocre schooling. Would never recommend this school to anyone, don't make the expensive mistake and I wished I listened to all the other bad reviews before enrolling..."

"I have to agree with some of the points that most of the reviews give but I would not write off ITT Tech completely. I have been a student for the past 3 yrs due to my job not working with my class schedule. I guess it depends on what area you are going to school because I have found my instructors to be very knowledgeable in their subject but they were not given the freedom to teach how they wanted because ITT Tech has a syllabus that they require the teachers to follow. They also tell the teachers that they want them to teach by power point and that these power points should be sent to the students in order for the students to be able to catch up if they miss class. Many of the teachers do open book exams but they don't allow the students to share information while taking the exams. Most of the exams are structured so that most of the answers can be found on the power points given by the teachers so most of the time the students are able to pass by printing out the power points and using them during open book exams. Because of this system, ITT Tech seems to have a high rate of turn over of employees including advisers. My reason for deciding on ITT Tech is the fact that you don't have to take non essential classes like biology when you're taking electronics. I liked that they go through your financial aide with you step by step because I was taking classes at NC Wesleyan College and I had to do my own financial aide which I always seemed to have done wrong but had no one to show me that until it was too late. Now I owe the college money and I can't get my transcripts for the classes that I did complete. While at ITT Tech, I did end up owing because if you drop out or don't pass a class, ITT Tech does not take the money from whatever financial aide you applied for. You end up owing the school for these classes instead of what ever loans that you take in order to pay for school. As far as the degree you get, I have talked to several students who have received a degree and said that the job market for that degree wasn't what they expected. So my plan is to get my degree in Electronics and then go to the community college and take the courses specific to Biomed in order to get the knowledge and training for that particular field. So while ITT Tech is not for everyone, its no different than finding out that a big prestigious college wasn't for me, so you can't really base your decision on someone else's bad experience but on whether or not the curriculum will work for your schedule or goals."

"Most expensive waste of paper ever. Not to mention if you ever need transcripts they hold them until you pay up. They have cost me tons and even if you do pay them, they still lose all your paperwork constantly, are unprofessional idiots. They have zero customers service. YOU ARE A PRIVATE SCHOOL, get that through your thick skulls you have to be nice to students or they write reviews. If you are testing for police departments do not go to this school. A LOT OF departments will not take your transcripts from here, they know its a joke too."

"After my experience with ITT Tech I realized how bad of a school this place is.The sylabus for classes are confusing. Often providing old information.Professors appear to change frequently. I did not seem to have the same professor more than once. Students I know who have a degree from them have found it to be useless when it came to finding a job. Do not waste your time here!"

"ITT is good at one thing, and one thing only: taking your money. If you have money to blow, they will occupy your time and spew out lots of nonsense. For anyone who actually wants to learn something that would help them with a job, go elsewhere.I have nothing against hard work. While the money is pouring in at ITT, the rest of the country is suffering from a bad economy. ITT takes advantage of students, promising that they'll step right out into a $100K job. LIARS! Those jobs don't go to entry-level people--particularly if they went to ITT.Nonetheless, there's plenty of people sitting in class at ITT hoping for easy money. Really, there is only one way they can get the easy money, and that is by working for ITT, where they can excrete another batch of IT ignoramouses.I hate to bash the school I attended, but it seems ITT's reputation couldn't possibly get any worse, and no one will hire an ITT graduate, anyway. Anyone who has a good opinion of ITT must either be one of ITT's recruiters, or ignorant in the IT field."

"No one hires ITT "graduates". I found this out the hard way. After putting my time, effort, and money into this worthless "school", I actually had an employer tell me that they will never hire an ITT graduate. His reasoning was that they didn't have any computer knowledge. After some argument, he let me take the tests, and I was embarassed to find that he was right. Despite all my hard work and high GPA, I discovered to my dismay that I didn't know the first thing about anything. I know I worked hard. I know all the things ITT taught. Unfortunately, it's worthless."

"I spent 7 weeks at ITT in Brooklyn Center, Mn. I encountered the most unbelievable amount of ineptitude I have ever witnessed in my life. The first few weeks they didn't even have their own IT person on staff!I suffered through one mistake after another at the hands of the faculty. The entire atmosphere at the classes was nothing less than chaos and no one lifted a finger to stop it."

"I went to ITT about 2 yrs ago and when I went I made sure I told them that I wanted everything to be student loans, I had to drop out about a yr in, in about a month I recieved papers from a collection agancy saying I owed money to the school, when I called the school they told me it was a temporary credit that they give to the students, this was news to me and the collection agency kept harrasing me.I called BBB and got it out of collections but still owe the money directly to the school. WARNING: do not sign anything before you look and asked lots of question, I did all that and still got screwed ( $8000 screwed). I was not expecting this extra payment. Also the teachers are not very helpful, one math teacher did not even teach he expected you to know the material, as quoted by one teacher "You had this in High School". I was 46 at the time thats a long time and never took trig in school back then."
