"JMU is an amazing school with wonderful professors who are always willing to go above and beyond to help their students. I have felt prepared and excited for my career because of my preparation at JMU. I would recommend this school to anyone who asks, because it is a great school with many strengths. There are several academic programs for which JMU is a notable school."

"James Madison University offers many opportunities to its students. It is a school that is still finding its identity, especially with graduate programs."

"James Madison is a super friendly school settled in the valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains. People are so happy to be at the school and the professors are all willing to take time to help students. The campus is not only beautiful but there are so many things to do on and off campus."

"JMU was the best four years of my life thus far. The atmosphere that was provided is something that no other school has! Everyone is genuinely friendly, I mean the campus is known for it's signature door holding! The little details also made the school something special too. For example, when you get into your class schedule routine you start to see the same dining services people, baristas, housekeepers, and maintenance workers and it wasn't uncommon for them to start saying hi to you! My favorite barista was moved from ECL to Carrier library Starbucks so I changed my entire schedule just so I could see her. It may sound crazy but everyone at JMU is family. I was out of state and was only homesick for my first week of school. I was 700 miles from my family but had found my own in the Shenandoah Valley. I strongly believe that JMU should be on every high school senior's radar for colleges!"

"GREAT SCHOOL. I chose this institution because of where it is located and the small class sizes. Let me tell you as an Alumni, this is the best education you can buy. I recently graduated from a different school and I have been thrown through the ringer for my transcripts and copy of diploma. At the other end of the spectrum, JMU's website is easy to navigate and it is FREE and quick to order your official transcripts online. My transcripts were sent via email within 48 hours to where they needed to be. It has been 3 weeks and $20 later and I have still not received my transcripts from AI. I had to call JMU to ask for a replacement diploma because of a moving accident and again FREE and quick service was provided. I spoke with a lovely human being on the phone which is something that you do not get often with companies or schools. As far as my education, I was young and flighty at the time so my grades reflect my absent mindedness. However, my educators have left lectures that replay in mind years later and lessons that I think about almost daily. I had a wonderful experience here and I push anyone debating to go to JMU. Also, the food was bangin."

"The JMU School of Music may be small, but it's excellent. I felt VERY prepared coming out into the "real world." All the music professors instill an incredible drive for professionalism in you and you can see the difference once you're out in a professional orchestra, opera company or choir."

"JMU was the best time of my life. I believe I got a wonderful education by professors who challenged me to be a well-rounded and enlightened adult, not just someone who read the course textbooks. I had the opportunities to study abroad and both join and found campus community organizations, based on my interests. The friendships and social activities were perfect for me, and I believe I had a perfect balance of academics, service, leadership, while all still having a fabulously fun social time."

"Very flexible with scheduling classes, Hands on approach with research. The only downside with the program is the funding. assistantships and fellowship stipends are considerably lower that comparable universities"

"The program is the most rigorous and well-recognized in the state. However, it isn't perfect and could really use diversity among its students. This is likely a problem with the field as a whole, however, as it is overwhelmingly white women that dominate the field."

"There are a great more deal of good things about this program than bad things. My chief complaint is the lack of diversity in the program, but that's a function of the profession as a whole, rather than this particular program. The faculty here are wonderful and want you to succeed."
