Keiser University Reviews
Student & Graduate Reviews (210)
Wow, where do I start, and where do I find help? And also, what can I do to forewarn people about the mistake they may be making enrolling in an Asoociate's degree program at Keiser. I attended Keiser for almost 2 years online, in which time I earned an Associates of Arts Degree in Health Service Administration.
First, let me say that mt research has told me that the AVERAGE cost of an associates degree is around $7,000.00. With under 5% being above $30,000.00. I am saddened to know that now that I have attended Keiser, and received an AA, I will NEVER be able to continue my education any further, due to my OUTRAGEOUS bill of over $30,000.00. This even AFTER making monthly payments for two years, and receiving NUMEROUS scholarships as well as Pell Grants (some thousands of dollars each). With 30,000$ in debt for ONLY school, and a whopping $350 a month payment for the next TEN YEARS OF MY LIFE (this is only paying back $11,000.00 of interest, where if I choose to pay $150 per month I will be paying over $60,000 for my ASSOCIATES DEGREE and will take me over 25 years to pay!!!!!)
I just graduated on Aug 20 from Keiser University Lakeland,Fl. From the beginning the RT teachers, clinical coordinator, program director, and dean of allied health sciences have been negative and condescending. There were many comments made to my class specifically about how "horrible and difficult they know that this class is and that all we do is blame our problems on the teachers because we can't take responsiblilty for our own actions".
Well let me tell all of you something...if this school makes a mistake they will never admit it. I wish I had never attended Keiser. It was the biggest mistake I have ever made. A very expensive mistake at that...$40,000...and all they tell me is oh well for screwing me over.
The first week of my radiology program they hand us all a huge stack of papers and they have to all be signed by the end of the week and then when you need their help they shove these papers back in your face and say see you did know...wow thanks. Im expected to remember something a year and a half later. If anyone else has been through their RT program then you know that you have homework and quizzes and tests all the time.
And clinicals? DOnt even get me started. Most of their clinical sites are a joke. A waste of time. I went to Bayview Radiology for my 2nd clinical rotation. This place taught me nothing. All they did was ignore me and then try to use me. I paid to be treated like crap. This school is a complete and utter rip off. All they care about is themselves. I can honestly say that there are only 2 teachers there that actually cared about the students in my class. I have to wait 3 months to take my RT registry because of a mistake that they made and all I get from them is an oh well..While all my fellow students are takeing their exam and applying for jobs Im sitting here waiting. Thank you Keiser University for being horrible and selfish. All I can tell you is run run run....
DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE I DID ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT THE EDUCATION SUCK RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM HISTOLOGY TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM 5 DAYS 5 HOURS IN A CLASS SUCK A TEST EVERY FRIDAY SUCK KEISER DONT CARE ABOUT EDUCATION ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY PLEASE PEOPLE TAKE MY ADVISE AND ATTEND A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY OR A COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
Nothing but a money hungry school!!! Everyone is extremely nice until you're in & they have your money! They play games, don't answers emails, phones calls, ANYTHING!! A RIP OFF!!!! They will tell you all these "requirements" you need then when it's done tell you that you didn't get all of them & need to get more or your GPA isn't high enough! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY! I'M EMBARRASSED TO SAY I WENT TO THIS SCHOOL! You don't know who's worse, the directors, the dean or the campus president! NEVER! I'm in the midst of suing them! TRUST ME.. STAY AWAY!
keiser is not a good school at all. they make you take all these loans out and over charge you for everything im almost 25 and spent most of my life not being in debt because of keiser im now in debt. Horrible horrible school when it comes to money and they try whatever to suck money out of you. the money goes straight to them and does not go to you first i would recommend any other college besides keiser, horrible school and most of the people that go there already have money problems and cant afford anything.
i feel sorry for all the people that attend that thief crooked school i just wish one day they get so many cases where students sue the school . I would not want any future student to think about going to this school.
In short DO NOT ATTEND KEISER, YOUR FUTURE WILL BE BRIGHTER AND YOU WONT HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE ROLLERCOASTER RIDE.
I currently hold a B.S. Marketing and was thinking of turning my passion for fitness into a new career as a physical therapy assitant. I need to A&P I and II to be amitted to the program. As, a older student I did not qualify for federal grants. I was planning to take one Class on line to see how I did. They said the I should apply for a federal loan. I tried and they said that that I had to apply for a semister. I dod not think I would get the loan but I did. I asked at the time that I was only planning to take one class and if I did get a B as required I would not continue. They said that ok that I had to apply for a loan for the semister but I could withdrawl.
I took A&P I on-line thinking that it was 8week course it was only four. It was a a lot of work which was fine but you are not learning you read the book and take test in which the questions are very obtuce. I thought it was just me. I have been out of school a long time. My friend who is a physical therapist stated you can not possibly learn this stuff in 4 weeks. I got a C and quickly withdrew from A&PII I paid for the class took. However, because I have a loan the school feels they are intitled to it. I wish I never got cohersed into applying for a student loan. I now owe $,1,890.36 cents for a class I did not take.
The people there are very professional when applying however, if you have a conflict no one calls you back. The fact that the program you looking at has waiting list and you must apply now or you may not get into the program. It's also interesting to note that many area schools do not accept credit from classess taken at this college.
This school is very expenive but I doubt people are getting a quality education. This is the pinnacle of what is wrong with the florida education system. Study for the FCAT college style.
I had no problems attending Keiser online for medical assisting. I am doing sucessfully, though hard at times, but I just got on the Honor Roll with a GPA of 3.60. My grades I earned on my on. Yeah it isn't cheap but I knew this before I started here. Does anyone read what they sign?
The only problem I have is that my Preceptor Coordinator who is the one that handles clinicals. I found a place that was willing to accept me for my preceptorship but needed Keiser to contact them. They have never dealt with Kesier before. I called my coordinator and she said to email her the information, which I thought she could have worte it down right then.
I email her the infor and waited with no response for over a week. She claims she did not get the email and send again, so I did. Guess what she didn't get that one either but funny thing is she gets the other email of me complaining. Whay can't she just take the information over the phone and call to dicuss with my choice of a clinical site.
I am very frustrated because the deadline has just passed to get the site. She said from the beginning if we needed help to contact her and she'll help. This is all I needed was for her to contact the medical office. All of my professor have helped if needed with no problem, my financial aid officer is helpful.
I also recieved a scholarship and grant which pays a nice amount of my tution. There are other sites complaining about the cost of tution from Kesier, and one said she will end having to pay over $400 a month for a $3400.
My husband owes over #30,000 in college loans and we are paying less than that but can't say the same when finishes his Masters. I owe credit cards more than $3400 with a sky high interest and pay less than $400 a month. Other than not getting helped with contacting my site for clinicals the school isn't bad.
Keiser University has one of the best programs in Sonography. The teachers and director are very helpful and professional. I think the program is very hard, but it has a very good reputation out there since hospitals prefer Keiser graduates.
Short and simple!!!!Dont waist your time here. I went to the location in Town and Country, Miami and it was a disaster. The Adm.Dir. was the one that I first approach when i step one foot in the office . He was arogant and with no touch at all to my questions on the massage therapy degree. I had to walk away and go to another institution.
Peolpe like this shouldnt be around people that wants to move foward in life...He will destroy your dreams in 5 min. Dont waist your time..
I have read everyone’s review. What I don’t understand is why there are so many negative things said about Keiser’s Nursing program director. The program director was an awesome teacher and an incredible director. She is the reason that I stayed at Keiser and graduated. The disgruntled students that want to say that the program director is the reason that they failed well it is simply not true.
We are responsible for our own success or failure. You alone are responsible if you did not pass or learn.
Another thing , if the program director truly padded grades then you would have graduated with your class . Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I feel confident that no grades were padded. Grades were not given freely as some students may have expected ,they were in fact earned, just as our RN pins were earned on April 23rd.
I was never more proud of myself and my fellow classmates than the day the program director pinned us and we became nurses. I stayed up countless nights studying and doing what I had to do to achieve my nursing degree.
I was tutored by the program director through out the entire program. She was always available to make sure that I understood the material. I resent the implication that grades were padded I have worked very hard and I am incredibly proud of my accomplishments at Keiser Lakeland
