Keiser University Reviews
Student & Graduate Reviews (191)
The only good things about this school are that many classes are online and you take one class at a time. However, they will screw you over when it comes to loans and obtaining your transcripts. They'll block you from a class and tell you more loans are needed and you can't get back in your class until you sign here, here, and here.
I was excited after researching this school online, when I filled out a contact form as soon as I pressed send my phone started blowing up. 3 to 4 times a day I received a call from 813-402-0423. Every time this number called they never left a voice mail, after a week of this I finally called the number back and it told me to wait for a representative, still not saying what company it was, and then after 12 rings I was connected and found out it was Keiser. Unprofessional for a college to conduct business like this. What happened to an admissions counselor contacting you from the campus you were interested in and not some random telemarketer blowing up your phone? Well this was enough to make me want to go with another school
I had a few problems at Keiser University. I wish I had read some of the reviews. I would have saved myself some trouble. I found that the library is difficult to tolerant because a person gets kicked out quickly even while in a database like ProQuest. Trying to reply to posts are hard because one has to go through many posts to find just one. My class had over twenty students. Later I was told that a post could be marked for retrieval. This information should have been available right from the start. We were asked to give parental information. I am old even to be a grandmother. This school seems to be geared toward younger people. We were asked to take an evaluation test but never got to see the results of the test. In my eyes I am paying for everything and should have excess to that information. A person from Keiser finance wanted me to fill out a Financial Aid page and I e-mailed back that I would do it later in the day or early next day because I had guests at my house. The officer called me back in a less than nice tone. I was trying to get finance to send a letter to the Department of Education so that I could get a deferment. Instead, the finance person told me a letter would be sent in about a month. I got the finance office to send me the information stating my status as a full time student. I had to send it to Department of Education. Two days later someone from Keiser finance office sent a letter saying that I was least than a half time student. When I called Keiser finance they referred me to the Bursar. The Bursar affirmed that I was a full time student and sent me a letter which I had to send to the Dept. of Ed. To straighten things out. In all of these dealings I never used less than a professional and pleasant tone. When I withdrew I learned that I had been billed for two classes even though I withdrew after only four weeks and was taking one class. I do not wish to continue at Keiser but I found out there is a fee to go back. Despite all that I just said the weekly live sessions in the class were nice.
Prior to enrolling the staff at Keiser University lead me to believe that finishing my degree early would ensure me of finding a career in my field of study faster and therefor the added expense would indeed be worth it. Here I am $30000 in debt and because I am on a payment plan with Keiser for the books I put on my account, they will not release my transcripts and I can not obtain a career in my field of expertise. Long story short people. Be warned. Pay half as much elsewhere and WALK at the same time (In June) with Keiser Students who paid twice as much. DO NOT TRUST THE STAFF AND THEIR PROMISES!!!!
On my personal experience I am on my 5 class and I don't have any problem with the school. The teacjers are great I do not have words to describe how amazing they are but the program is really difficul and tough. And as you go forward it get way more difficult. It is not impossible but not easy neither. You have to study a lot and sometimes you have 2 or 3 tests in a week followed by comps which if you fail the third time they dismiss you from the program that is the only thing that i don't like from Keiser but the rest I think is great
I am in my fourth of a five semester RN-BSN program with the hopes of going to nurse anesthesia school. The courses are one at a time but make no mistake, they can be challenging with all the discussion boards, assignments and research papers that are required. Not to mention you're packing an entire 16 week course into 4. Nevertheless, I would have to say that I'm pleased with the program. Most of the professors are friendly and reasonable and the (nursing) program is both nationally and regionally accredited by the CCNE and SACS. This helps when it comes time to applying to advanced practice programs offered by other major colleges and universities.
Today I was given a "Do Not Admit Slip" by financial aid. I go to handle the situation & I was told that I'm FORBIDDEN to be in class til I do so. Mind you, I pay $50/month just to attend there. & as far as classes go, don't bother wasting your money cause we barely use the textbooks anyway cause it's a month by month institution. There are good resources we use in class to help you in the legal field but hardly any good material is spoken about in class. Mainly gossip about irrelevant things or perhaps maybe what we saw on the news & even then it's only the "favorites" that matter. At one point I'd say some of the staff are prejudice, especially financial aid (they know your money situation to the core) & one dean in particular that is old & aggy. Overall this university is something at one point I was proud to attend but now all they make me feel is to drop out or transfer my credits somewhere else ... Not PSC, they are horrible too! But not as bad as Keiser. Point is, don't waste your time nor gas to go to a place like this .. it was called Keiser Career College to begin with & that's what it should've remained with their high school ways (even now accepting duel enrollment cause nobody wants to go there & they are STRUGGLING to keep their accreditation, I see why). Jobs are promised, doesn't happen... they'll help you write out yoir resume but that's about it. I'm SICK of this college taking advantage of their students .. I would call the department of education but it's not like they listen to us students anymore. Now on a Positive note, to anyone looking to further their future with college .. good for you! I hope you find the right college for you, maybe it's Keiser .. just don't say I didn't warn you based off of my own personal experiences.
I have been going to Keiser University for my B.S. in Health Science and now working on my Masters. All my teachers so far have been great. Except for this semester Dr. Patrick Wong. If anyone gets him as a professor please asked to be transfer right away horrible professor, takes days if not a week to answer email you have to email him 3 or 4 times to get any answer out of him. Also all my professors have been great and if you are just a little shy of your grade that you wanted to achieve in the class they are always willing to help you out, but this professor does not care about his students what so ever. I asked if there was anything I could do t raise my grade up a few points and it took him 2 days to answer me NO. What kind of professor is that, that is not willing to help his students out. HORRIBLE please if anyone goes to Keiser Univeristy and gets him please please get out of his class.
Keiser University is a joke. Some of their Professors are prejudice. I wish the Department of Education would shut it down. They don't provide you with the materials needed to be successful . Starting from the Dean who is rreally prejudice. She just recently received her PhD in 2006. How can you be a Dean with a PHD. the University is crooked and prejudice against certain races.. So done needs to take them to Court.
Keiser University MBA program was an exceptional program. During my tenure at Keiser University - Tallahassee campus the content of the program of study was relayed to myself in an engaging and informative manner. The instructors delivered the material with clarity and precision. They saw the individual needs of their students and tailored the learning experience to fit each student. I truly believe that my MBA will open numerous opportunities to explore the workforce more. I am now in a distinctive caliber of individuals who have taken education to another level. The experience has been rewarding and truly one that I will never forget. The fostering of relationships I have built with students and instructors has enhanced my personal and professional experiences to see things in a broader, yet descriptive and informative view. I'm now in a profound position to venture into the unknown territories of an entrepreneur with precision . Thank you Keiser!!
