"Academically, it's a good technical college with an established pipeline to many well-paying, reputable companies. The overall culture, however, is depressing if you're of the creative and sociable type. The school has only really invested in its engineering, nursing, and aviation departments. While its ethnic diversity is impressive, its diversity of personalities & passions is disappointing. This is telling in the school's lack of outlets and activities in areas like humanities, Greek life, visual/performing arts, or clubs. The incentive for a more well-rounded culture simply isn't there. It's not obvious from first impressions, but prospective students should be aware of this. Being nerdy is fine, but not when it comes at the expense of diversity. To my surprise, many students & faculty insinuated that investing in the social sciences would make the school too sympathetic to humanistic worldviews. But if being "set apart" means creating a hyper-rational doctrinally oriented bubble-culture, I can't recommend this to anyone in good conscious. While officially non-denominational, the atmosphere is heavily "baptist-conservagelical." Even though I believe this position is still a valuable voice in its dialogue with other worldviews, the culture stifles the type of faith that is free-thinking and holistic. While they often denounce the humanism of secular culture, the 'true evil' is religious perennialism. It seemed the main purpose of their theology classes were to rationalize the supremacy of a spiritual imperialism that is mainly concerned with expanding it's boundaries rather than building bridges. This intellectual inhospitality reinforces sentiments of "us against the world" that is totally unnecessary and, IMO, detrimental to mental health. That being said, most people are genuinely earnest and kind."

"LeTourneau University for me was an excellent experience overall. Though their guild lines and expectations of students are on the strict side, and the code of ethics is looked upon as extreme to many, for me it taught me great discipline and integrity. I always felt that my professors were were well qualified and consistently their for each student, some students struggled to follow the LETU way. This is a school for Christian individuals-period. They make no secret about that and have an almost zero policy for anyone who questions that. As a Christian I appreciated this value. Unfortunately if you are not likeminded in that regard this may not be the college for you-that is the simple truth. If you are on the fence spiritually you will make it. Getting passed the hard core rules set by administration teaches you more life lessons than a lot of classrooms. As for the education I received I will say it was great. Social life not so much. I was prepared for the real world and had all the knowledge necessary to succeed. The tuition was expensive, but in this case you get what you pay for. A solid education, confidence to believe in yourself and growth in your personal walk with God. It was a very safe and friendly environment for the most part- religion aside. I would highly recommend LETU for Christians looking for a small university with a lot of really good courses that can be applied to your career later in life. If you want wild, progressive, and partying this might not be the right choice. Students who did the best were very driven and goal oriented. Nerds to some, but they turn most people into leaders and focus a lot public service, public speaking and spiritual growth."

"Not a good value and the flight department lacks leadership. Instructors are hit and miss and have no accountability. Prepare to be well over budget due to apathetic instructors, downed aircraft, and general disorganization in the flight department."

"This school is a joke with their student policies for example, “ For all students enrolled as traditional/residential or dual enrollment students, or for those participating in University Athletics or living in University housing, it is a violation to promote, distribute, sell, possess, or use alcohol, narcotics, or tobacco on or off campus regardless of the student’s age.” In what kind of world in 2019 does a place of higher learning have a student policy like this? Even though everyone drinks, it leads to students telling on each other to get suspended. So you can imagine how divided the student body is. They will treat you like children at a bible camp for four years, And teach you what to think not how to think, administration does not care about you and are hypocrites, tuition is overpriced and education quality is mediocre at best and there is little to no social life. My personal opinion I would not go here if I were to do it all over again after transferring."

"I loved my experience at Le Tourneau University. I always wanted to go there, but hadn't gone there earlier because there resident tuition was so expensive. when I had about 118 credits and was a Junior I heard that Le Tourneau had a new online program in my major and all I would have to complete to gradate was another 55 credits and I would be done. That sounded awesome to me so I talk more to one of the Aviation program directors and then decided to apply. After admission. I started my first class and found that because I was doing classes online I would not have to sit through a long lecture instead I would just have to do the homework. The classes were laid out in a 6 week format where students would log in a minimum of 4 or 5 times a week to answer questions in Discussion Posts or take Tests. Then they would be required to do a few papers here and there and assigned reading. The classes were set out so nicely that students could spend an 1-1/2 hours six times a week for one class or 2 hours 6 times a week for two classes. It was so awesome. I was able to get off work do a little bit of homework and then be done for the evening. The schedule is so flexible it will work with anyone's schedule no matter what as students are able to homework whenever they want, and then put in a little bit of time on the weekend if need be. The Professors were also super cool, and were willing to work with you if you had something unexpected come or if you just needed more time because of work."

"LeTourneau University is an excellent campus, especially for undergraduate studies. They have a large focus on student activities and growing faith. The School of Business is small, but the amount of knowledge among the professors is large! The professors take time to know you personally and want to see you succeed."

"This School is Homophobic, will run students out, force counseling on you to change your ways of being a homosexual. Professors will start failing students once they have been written up. Its in their rule book you can not date same sex. Also, trainers have relations with athletes, and so do coaches college covers it up so they won't lose their federal funding."

"Don't waster your time. They are not what they used to be, don't expect anyone to help you later on once the check is cashed. No one there seems to know what there job is, but they can sure take a message and have someone call you back...ok maybe they wont call you back but two weeks later still trying to get a call back as job opportunities slip away. Grads welcome to the real world."

"LeTourneau University was incredible. The classes were small allowing the the teachers to know and interact with students personally. The teachers were highly skilled and gifted most of whom had real-world experience that they communicated in the classroom. All the teachers and faculty deeply desired for the students to succeed in all aspects of life. There was an emphasis on community and culture. This allowed students to have social skills and demonstrate teamwork. There was also a huge emphasis on faith. Students and teachers were encouraged to make personal Christian faith real and applicable in everyday situations. There were regularly chapels, mentor ship, faith conversations in the dorms, and small groups to foster and create the oppritunity to grow. This school and the people impacted me tremendously and continues to influence. I would highly recommend this school. All the education degree programs are top-notch. And their emphasis on shaping the whole person with social skills, extracurricular activities, and faith is extremely well done."

"Letourneau University has a great online atmosphere and knowledgeable instructors. I highly recommend to anyone wanting a Christian-based, top notch, education. The Teacingh program made me prepared for the Texas Teacher Certifications and ready to step into a classroom."

"LeTourneau is a great Christian school that places a huge emphasis on excellence in the workplace. I wish they gave a little more attention to their business school though. It is primarily an engineering and aviation school, but offers a lot of other degree programs that are also very good. I feel the Finance program prepared me well for my job as a Commercial Loan Analyst."
