Very sad, the admissions/financial aid process is horrible, I was forced to send document after document to prove I could get fafsa when I wasnt even using fafsa aid because I was using my husbands gi bill I am legally blind and was having trouble getting everything they wanted done and they were rude to me like I was stupid when I just cant see or drive to take care of noterized documents etc and would not allow me to use gi bill instead of fafsa. When my high school sent my transcrips the wrong way they sent rude emails I just cant believe they treated me this way and am going to a different school now, several schools were very willing to help me and my situation but they refused
They school will start out sounding great but it is not. They changed my major without notifying me, refused to change mine. They will not work with you if you have any issues. This was my second Masters Degree and because of them changing my major i am not in debt for classes that do not even apply to my major, or graduation. They also killed my GPA because I had some life issues that cause me to be a couple of weeks behind, Turned everything in prior to the end of the Semester and my proffessor refused to grade them. In 3 days i completed 3 weeks worth of work that was graded as a zero. I appealed the grade and the school told me i should have found a way to stay caught up no matter what, my tough luck i had personal issues that kept me from turning them in durring the week they were due. My daughter also attended and had a similar issue.
I had a very high view of Liberty. I never attended the school. But my brother did and I visited often. I loved the atmosphere and everything I saw and heard. My view of Liberty changed. My fiancé enrolled to Liberty online. His first time doing online classes was definitely a learning curve. He did not do too well in a course and did not pass it. Being from Canada this cost a lot of money. So, yes, maybe he should have worked a little harder to achieve the grades needed. But trust me, lesson learned. He then wrote an appeal in order to remain a student at LU and simply redo the classes. After MUCH waiting and MUCH more money was spent the appeal was denied. So, Liberty was unwilling to give him a second chance, we lost a lot of money, and now he is no longer a student. So thank you to Liberty University for costing us a lot of money as we plan for a wedding and a life together, thank you for totally wrecking any positive view I had of you, and thank you for dropping my fiancés self esteem. I can guarantee you he will never fail a class again. But you will never have the opportunity to see him succeed. Looking for to him doing his school at a school that will support him, encourage him, and recognize that no one is perfect. See ya Liberty!
Please be aware that the Bachelor's Health Informatics program is not an accredited program. You will not be able to sit for exams offered Commission of Accreditation of Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). This program is will be accredited with their school of business. This is very important due to the fact that it affects student employment opportunities in that career field. Please future students steer clear of this program at Liberty University. There are other programs that are online and accredited. Please visit www.cahiim.org for information on accredited health informatics program.
Had a major medical issue, asked for time to pay my bill back. Next thing I know, I'm turned over to a collection agency. VERY Christian of them! There is absolutely no help if needed, financial aid is a joke. Take my advice and go to a real university, brick and mortar and get a real degree.
To those reading reviews by others stating Liberty is just like a "for profit" institution -- esp. veterans? Not in any way. Liberty Military Affairs office is first rate. They give undergraduate students book vouchers for free books up to $400 ea semester for veterans and spouses. They give you basically 50% off tuition -- yeah REALLY FOR PROFIT. Please....do not listen to them. They obviously had their own issues and are wanting to take it out on the university. I have finished my Bachelor's and am finishing Masters now. My husband, a retired Army officer also got his 2nd masters from Liberty and is graduating in the Spring with his Ed.S. and they are awesome. Not real professors? Hello !!! Yes they are. All graduate and most undergraduate have a doctorate and all have a masters in their content area. Many of them also teach residentially and at intensive courses. The Dean of Secondary Instruction taught my husband and an Associate Dean as well. We have had wonderful professors and their grading is not easy or inconsequential. They give great feedback and if you have something to say ...fill out the survey and follow up with your appropriate dept. I would recommend LU to ANYONE. They are top rate ! Oh and within 6 months of graduation with his masters my husband as working in his field making $10,000 more annually as a teacher than most teachers during their first year. I am working as well in a long term substitute position awaiting licensure.
I am almost finished with a Master's of Education degree in Elementary Education, and I could not be more pleased with Liberty University Online. My favorite aspect of Liberty is that it is truly Christ-centered - even in online courses! Each of my instructors has been caring, thoughtful, and resourceful. Assignments are rigorous yet manageable, and grading is equitable. The admissions process was not stressful, and I have had amazingly helpful staff with each contact I have made to the school. I could not recommend Liberty University more highly. It has been a blessing.
I at first thought Liberty University would be a great for me, with me being a full time single mom and full time preschool teacher. Boy was I wrong. I got accepted right away, but the Financial aid office kept sending me more and more documents that the needed, but not until the last minute. It seemed like every time I thought they had everything, nope they would need something else. I found another school with the same program, but not nearly as much trouble getting through just the financial aid process....
Liberty University is a very solid school. All the professors are trying there best to help you improve. The classes are well organized. The advisors give you a lot of support. They will pray with you and for you. I highly recommend Liberty Univeristy and Liberty University Online.
I love Liberty University. They have the best customer service. I can't say one bad thing about LU out of 2.5 years, never had an issue with any of the staff or departments. Thank God for Liberty University. I graduated summer 2015 with my Masters in Public Health. It was not easy nor did I expect it to be. It challenged me and I learned a lot from the courses. I would recommend anyone interested in obtaining the MPH degree to look in to attending LUO. You will not be disappointed.
