"Lincoln Christian University is a unique place. Located in the middle of a corn field, it creates an almost monastic vibe that forces you into community with your classmates and demands you take your homework seriously -- there is quite literally nothing else to do! I loved my education there. The curriculum is extremely challenging, especially if you are taking anything in the philosophy program. The professors want to know you and help you succeed -- I am actually still friends with quite a few of my old professors. They do a lot to connect students with local congregations to prepare you for ministry post-graduation. They try to be very ecumenical in their instruction. I had classmates from all different denominational backgrounds and they all felt they had a voice in discussion. Most professors would not tell you any certain way to believe, rather they would provide you with resources, facilitate discussion, and leave you to decide for yourself. I will say that campus life presents in a very evangelical way, so if you are uncomfortable in the evangelical church, that may be a hurdle for you to jump over. They also have a very strict code of conduct that you must agree to -- no drinking, smoking, or participating in premarital sex. I understand these rules are in place for accreditation purposes and because they are trying to uphold Christian values with their students, but it strays a bit too far in the camp of puritanism in my personal opinion. What happens in your personal life should not affect your standing as a student. There must be room for moral failure to happen and still allow for the student to graduate. Better to have students struggle openly in the place they are being trained for a life of service than in secret when they are a pastor of a local congregation. I know that it does take quite a bit to actually be dismissed from the school and that they handle these cases of moral failure with grace and understanding. This element of their culture is something to be aware of going into it, not anything that should deter you from the school at all."

"LCU is a great bible college with exceptional professors and the university is graduating professionals who are going out into the world and doing impressive things! Like so many other colleges, the burden to pay skyrocketing expenses is poorly addressed and little room is given for out of the box thinking or creative problem solving in dealing with payment."

"LCU is a school that genuinely cares about the students not only as students but individuals as well. The counseling professors are amazing. They are not distant educators. They are engaged mentors. The counseling program is CACREP accredited which is a huge plus after graduation."

"Lincoln Christian University is an amazing place for Christians of all denominations to come and learn. The professors are very nice, and are committed to seeing every student succeed. The workload is very reasonable, and they make it easy to have a full-time job or a family while attending graduate school. Most graduate students live at least an hour from campus, and they let us stay over night in the dorms for $15 per night with free internet access. Lincoln is a great place to study."
