"Go to another college. I’ve had a terrible experience at this College. I don’t recommend it to anyone. Like the previous review said, they don’t care and they try to make you pay more than you should. At the administration, you will try to reasonably talk to them and they don’t listen. They are extremely rude and uncooperative. It’s like their purpose in life is to make the students life difficult. Most of my professors were great and helpful. I had unpleasant experiences with just a couple bad ones. At LACC I had a completely different experience, people actually cared and made your life easier."

"This is my second semester attending LAVC and I’ve hated it. I was previously enrolled at LACC which is where I completed 90% of my classes but I needed a class that LACC didn’t offer during the season so I had to take it at the nearest college and they made me switch home schools in order to get my financial aid. It’s been ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. It seems like everytime the semester start they take their precious time with the disbursements and then they always try to take ext money. They don’t take academic status into consideration it’s basically like they don’t care. Counselor office is hard to get an appointment with so if anything does go wrong it takes weeks to see a counselor and then EXTRA WEEKS for the to fix the issue"

"My time at Los Angeles Valley College was nothing less than great. In the semesters I've spent at the college I got to understand the value behind an education while learning more about myself. When I first graduated high school I didn't know what was next for me I had no plan on pursuing a degree but yet I wasn't ready for the opportunities that were available to me. In my first semester I realized that there were many that felt the same way young undergrads undecided on the future. The indecision and responsibility was too much for me at the time so I went off to work full time and disregarded college. The decision I made 7 years ago affect me greatly I was angry at myself because throughout grade school I was always a average student while all my friends overachieved. My self esteem towards education wasn't there I felt like I turned my back on myself but I had to look from within in order to correct myself. Turns out I always battled with laziness when it came to being focused but because I was never driven to successed in something I liked. Once I figured out the problem I came back to Valley College with a different perspective. There's a lot that the college offers but I believe it's up to the student to take full advantage of the opportunities. I came to appreciate the equal opportunity program, student services, writing center, and math tutoring center. All the departments helped me through the tough process of returning from a long break but eventually I successfully graduated with an AA in Humanities. Now as I set my goal in transferring to a higher institution but without a doubt Los Angeles Valley College paved the way for me to be successful in every way possible."

"My academic experiences at Los Angeles Valley College (LAVC) along with my acceptance into the BUILD PODER community at CSUN, have been the catalysts driving me towards the pursuit of scientific research at CSUN. LAVC has equipped me with a strong foundation of knowledge in my discipline as well as the technical laboratory techniques necessary to begin my journey in the research environment. While attending LAVC, I was mentored by the best and most amazing professors I have ever known. My passion and tenacity for Biology were always encouraged and my desire to learn more was cultivated with extracurricular responsibilities and opportunities such as the Biotechnology Capstone program at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center. It was the advisement of one of my mentors at LAVC that led me to the BUILD PODER program. The guidance given to me in this amazing program as well as the community of determined and motivated individuals has continually inspired me on my path to scientific research."

"Valley College is a great place to start off college. They are very helpful, with the option for drop-in appointments if you have a question. The teachers are always available and happy to answer any question you might have, clarify something from class, or even have a discussion with you, with their many student drop-in hours where their time is dedicated to just you. Valley College also has great athletic options, in addition to a warm environment and many helpful and warm staff members."
