"Very great clinical program, but if you decide on a macro concentration, options are a more limited. The school is very expensive and thus middle-class and White. Internal scholarships are few and far between. The city and location are great and provide lots of career and internship options."

"This is a great institution and a wonderful program. The School of Education has created a program that is largely student driven and gives each the freedom to study what interests them. The program professors are highly intelligent and top-notch! Chicago is wonderful as well, just really expensive..."

"Loyola provides an excellent graduate education in a supportive, collegial environment--none of the infighting for which some high-level graduate programs are notorious. The faculty are expert as well as approachable. The program is geared toward training future college teachers, so seminars often have a pedagogical component. All Ph.D. students receive assistantships, and most are given numerous opportunities to develop and teach their own courses. The location in Rogers Park, right along Lake Michigan, is beautiful, and the university is investing heavily in new infrastructure, with an emphasis on sustainable building practices. However, this neighborhood is far from downtown and some of the more exciting parts of Chicago. Overall, it's an excellent program!"

"Loyola is extremely good at helping students network and go where you need to go. They set you up for the future and provide you with an opportunity to take an array of classes according to your interests within your field....not to mention, Chicago is a fantastic place to be when out of the classroom!"

"While the program is outstanding and well recognized in the field, the school offers little to no financial support."

"The pros are the location, reputation, and focus on ethics. The cons are the lack of grad financial aid and overall costs of school and living in the area."

"Pros: over 1000 hours in field placements to acquire hands-on learning. Professors that currently work in the field and have real life experiences to share. Cons: Expensive to live in the area, as well as hard to acquire aid for the tuition."

"Everyday, (even on the stressful ones), I remind myself of how lucky I am to be going to Loyola for medical school. The staff, faculty and students are all so supportive, friendly and helpful. I am getting a wonderful education and I am very happy and fulfilled. Come to Loyola if you can!"

"The program is accredited and has taught me so much in two short semesters. However the school provides next to NO assistance for those needing help with tuition. I have a 4.0 and have begged for help, but my only option is to take out loans. I will be $140,000 in debt once I leave the program. :("

"Professors are very understanding about students who are also working full time jobs, and they make themselves available accordingly. Professors and classmates are knowledgeable and helpful, but there is a lack of curriculum understanding on the advising side of the program."
