"The DSc in Cybersecurity at Marymount is essentially a racket to generate revenue from student tuition. All that the department is interested is in enrolling a large number of students for their tuition. The IT Department Chair is an unethical individual who will not respond to emails for weeks. To maintain enrollment (and tuition revenue flow) she has frequently turned a blind eye to rampant cheating during assignments and exams, even tacitly encourages it. The Director of the Cybersecurity program acts as though she is semi-retired even though she is a full-time tenured faculty. She is on campus only once a week. Most of the teaching is done by adjuncts who have barely any knowledge of cybersecurity, hence the quality of the program is very poor. Stay away from this program if you can, this will burn a hole in your pocket."

"Marymount University is an exceptional institution of learning. My transfer experience from Northern Virginia Community College was seamless and I was amazed at how many credits transferred. The faculty and staff are beyond helpful. I learned so much both within my major and outside of it due to their expert guidance. Most importantly they strongly advocated on my behalf and helped me find a valuable internship. Marymount's campus is pure eye candy, and the little touches like seasonal flowers help make it one of the most beautiful campuses in the area. The classrooms are also state of the art and feature the latest technologies. Lastly, Marymount is a fun school to go to. The students are all very friendly and the school creates no shortage of activities to do with them"

"Unless this is your very last option, I strongly recommend you avoid this school. You can get a better student experience at any community college, which this school basically feels like but for a hefty price tag. There is almost zero student life on campus, students are unfriendly and many don’t care at all about school. Ballston campus is a cloud of cigarette smoking and the parking lot is always closed. Financial aid office is basically run by students who don’t know what they’re doing. This school just wants to make money and doesn’t care about how students actually do in class."

"I enjoyed my degree program. The variety of field experience Marymount provides was incredibly beneficial to my future career as an educator. I still utilize some of the tips and tricks of the trade I learned in my classroom to this day. Many of my professors were very knowledgable and personable. The math and science professor should no longer be employed by Marymount, as she does not actually teach the course. I was very disappointed to find out she is not only still employed by the university but still using her techniques to poorly prepare Marymount students for their careers. I was very well prepared for social studies and language arts instruction, and I had great professors in all other academic courses (including an amazing geometry course separate from this math instructor). I still suffer to this day in my career due to the poor teaching skills of this professor, and Marymount should be ashamed to still employ her - it is why I did not even consider them for graduate school. Otherwise, I recommend them! I loved creative writing and all of my English classes too!"

"Marymount university is a small school in Arlington Virginia that was perfect for me as a college experience. The small setting makes getting used to college easier. Also I have Cerebral palsy and the disability support office is exceptionally supportive in terms of doing their best to make sure students with disabilities are not held back by preventable issues related to their disabilities. There is also a wide variety of programs to major in for those that are unsure what career path they would like to follow. I find the Psychology department to be filled with great professors but I don't think I've ever met a Marymount professor in or outside of my field that wasn't passionate about their field and their students. Marymount's Nursing and Fashion programs are especially renowned. The only downside I have seen at the school is low security and strict rules in the dorms regarding noise and other policys. Once the dorm staff write you up for something minor they tend to show prejudice against those students in the future . Honestly, the security has improved but those issues can be remedied by communing if it's an issue for that particular student. As a commuter school it's nearly perfect."

"I enjoyed attending this university and feel that the material taught was appropriate for the work force and what I needed after graduation. I liked that it was a smaller school and therefore it was more personable with teachers and staff."

"Marymount University is a small private school in Virginia. Our professors are great and offer much help during and after class time. Our physical therapy program is highly accredited and one of the best programs in the state. It is very competitive to get in as well but definitely is a smaller and more of a family atmosphere compared to other physical therapy programs"

"I feel that the small class sizes are definitely a pro for this university. Students get a more one-on-one with their professors and get a chance to know them. Since it is my first semester, I haven't experienced and negatives thus far. I am thoroughly enjoying the program and the challenges that have come with it."

"The professors care about each and every student they have. The small classes allow you to know your professors and they know you. They are understanding when other life events slightly disrupt your work for their class because of this connection. They have also built a wonderful collegial network among students and faculty. It was a great place to earn my master's degree."

"Great school, like a small community, small class sizes, great professors and great overall staff. Beautiful campus just a few miles from Washington DC and all the benefits that come with such a close proximity."

"It was a wonderful suburban campus close to DC. The atmosphere was of a close community of professors and students and all other staff. I had a wonderful time diring my years there. My only real pet peeve there was the food. Everything else was normal or awesome!"

"I attended Marymount University's accelerated second degree nursing program. This program was only 16 months long, prior to starting this program I had obtained my Bachelors degree in Biology . This program was fast paced and initially Marymount was extremely disorganized. We had a professor or two that would begin teaching the class and then leave and they would scramble to find a replacement . The best part of this program was the clinical portion. We were able to submit our preference for our capstone clinical, I was given my first choice which was Georgetown University Hospital . I was able to get an inside look at the hospital and also show my work ethic to the current staff. The staff nurses were very supportive and encouraged me to apply for a "New Grad" position. I ended up receiving a job offer before my graduation which I can attribute to the opportunity Marymount gave me through clinical placement."

"I believe that the pros are a committed and caring faculty who really gets to know their students plus having small class sizes. The cons are the cost and the distance from my house."

"CONS Classes have been more conceptual than practical so far. Some aspects of the program requirements are difficult to navigate. There is little guidance in some areas, like internships/practicums. PROS Professors are very accessible with open office hours and high email responsiveness. Professors are all highly experienced in the field of counseling are are usually still working in the field. Huge plus is that the counseling program is CACREP accredited and includes requirements for state/national counseling licensure."
