"Memphis College of Art was very conceptually driven. Many professor are concerned with the idea behind the work over the quality, craftsmanship, and technique. Paying $ 13,000 a semester I feel that I would have gained more by saving the money for those four years.I am very disgruntled, because my Sculpture professor asked us in our advanced class to write a description of what we would like to learn in this class. Basically writing our own syllabus. And, upon meeting with this professor to discuss my education I had written that I was interested in and wanted learn how to cast silica bronze. To which he replied: that is too complicated I am not going to teach you that! I walked away trying to discern why, and severely frustrated."

"Memphis College of Art is a fantastic Art college located in the heart of midtown Memphis. You will find MCA located in the middle of beautiful Overton Park, right next to the highly renowned Memphis Zoo and many other great hot spots near the revived Overton Square. The school has a wonderful sense of community, while maintaining a strong competitive, and rigorous curriculum that will test and refine students' abilities as they evolve and grow as professional working artists. MCA has a great staff with dedicated teachers and many travel learning opportunities and internships available for students. Along with its great studios, working facilities, and diverse course options, Memphis College of Art is the ideal school for aspiring art students."

"The faculty at MCA make this school. The surrounding area make off campus living a challenge and expensive in some areas. But that being said if you have a roommate you can find something pretty reasonably priced. The program is still growing and developing, but the artist community around it is strong. The support we get from professors, advisors, and galleries around is amazing. I believe the education and guidance I will receive here will open a lot of doors in the future."

"My graduate program is helping me with my professional practices as an artist. Allowing me to grow and developing new concepts, techniques and research. This is beneficial for me to succeed later in my artist career, but can be costly depending on new techniques and supplies needed to accomplish this. While the financial aid helps cover a portion of it, the financial need can be significant at times."

"I feel that the pros and cons are that I love that the instructor are here to really help me become successful such as find internships, enter competitions, and offer a lot of great workshops. The one thing I believe is the main factor is the cost and the support system to really make it affordable."

"stop firing good faculty and keep the ones that inspire the students and art involved in the arts. they are financially unorganized and losing good teachers fast."
