"There IS no better instructor than experience. I was told before I enrolled that after graduation I could qualify as a service manager that could not have been farther from the truth. I was not taught how to do pm service or what to even look for when doing a service. I was hired at Kenworth of Indianapolis in March of 77 I think because of my diploma but it became quickly apparent how much I didn’t know. I was extremely lucky to have a service manager and two shop foremen who took an interest in me and taught how to do it and do it right. I stayed there for 25 yes and then started my own business in 2001. I received several awards KW and the major engine manufacturers.Unless their curriculum has changed I don’t think it is worth the money these days because dealerships don’t provide personal instruction like I recieved"

"I attended their twelve month program and graduated in 1995. During the twelve month program I received poor instruction and almost zero support from my instructors. I was left on my own much of the time. I had my personal mini truck that I worked on much of the time because of the lack of instruction. I accured a lot of student loans. I graduated and left the college with no support of finding a job. Jobs that were available were minimal paying jobs in the industry because of my extreme lack of skills. I finally realized I could not stay in this line of work because I could not pay minimal bills. The college made many promises to me and my parents during the recruitment phase but never did what they promised. It was a complete waste of my time and $20,000 for tuition, room and board. Run, don't walk, from this school."

"I am from Jasper, IN. I was hired on the spot when I told them I just graduated from Nashville auto Diesel. I worked there for over 10 years and almost all of our mechanics we hired during the time I worked there were NADC graduates. I was promoted to Assistant Service Manager. To the best of my knowledge NADC Grads. never had a problem getting a Job at any of the 4 car dealerships in Jasper if they were in need of a mechanic! My nephew is also a NADC Graduate and Worked for the Nashville city bus line a few years, then was hired by Nancy Bear Trucking Inc. in Jasper, IN and then promoted to be their Service Manager! "The school did need some updating when I was there 12 years ago but the teachers were all very informative and would help every student THAT WANTED TO LEARN. I had a pretty solid background in auto/diesel before attending the school but the instructors would cater to every persons level of skill the best they could. I am now a fleet manager for a state department with over 80 pieces of equipment to maintain/repair and multiple employees I have to help train. I would not be in this position if it wasn't for the instructors I had at NADC."

"First off I will say this: DO NOT let anyone convince you to go here based on NADC Tradition because those times are all but gone. I had a great experience there (when it was NADC) I have done pretty well for myself since graduating there, but it wasn't because of the school itself. I could have succeeded with a much cheaper school option. It was around $11K then, but I hear it's close to 40K now. No way is it worth that I can promise you. You are a cash cow to these "recruiters". It doesn't matter if you like your instructors because they don't get the tuition bill in their mailbox.....YOU DO. All you need to get started in this field are the FUNDAMENTALS in Automotive. There is no school in the world that can MAKE you a technician. That is a thing you have to work towards once you have the fundamentals under your belt. I work with current and former students in the field at a large shop and most of what I see are a bunch of people who have been mislead. They think they will be coming out of school making these big bucks within a couple years. Nothing could be farther from the truth. These days it takes almost 10 years to make a good auto technician, as opposed to 25 years ago when it took less than 3. No matter which school you choose, don't let any of them BS you."

"There are a lot of students that's don't want to learn, and you will have the opportunity to learn, don't go unless you are serious. Never had a problem getting a job are graduating, don't think you are going to go to this school and just be filled with knowledge, it takes effort and school gets a bad rep because of students, this is basically a good link to a job, you can learn the book knowledge for $299 from all data training garage and buy a cheap car and practice on it. Instructors are very good at what they do regardless they are restricted by Corp and department of education, would be better if the could spend all day in shop, definitely learn more"

"This school is full of lies, the campus is nasty, the food is decent, teachers are great, but they're not allowed to teach. The new CDX program is awful, you are on a computer all day everyday. You may be in shop once a month in most classes. Their 'shop time' is considered watching people do stuff on boards in the classrooms. I have a 3.9GPA and 99.7% attendance. So I'm not just a pissed off student. If I knew what this would be like before I started attending I would have never came here. Also, if you're looking for a place to live. Go off campus. We are charged $750 a month for a small dorm room. When you can find a room for probably $500 and have much more room. Their associates degree program also is worthless, it will not go for anything in a shop or transfer to another school. 40k for this school was a waste. Do not waste your money on this school. But if you do, good luck."

"Lincoln school is a complete joke. The school is so out dated and is so worried about other thing than learning. As of right now i work in a shop and i attend the school and going to school there is nothing like a shop experience. The only reason im still attending the school is because I';m to far into the program. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE! ITS A WASTE OF TIME"

"School used to be great. I graduated in 07 with honors just around the time Lincoln tech was taking over. They ruined it. Completely. It's a shame too, there used to be no better place to learn about auto and diesel technology, but now it's a sham. They just want your money."

"As others have said, If you go there to learn you will, if you go to screw around away from your parents you are wasting time and money. Before I graduated NADC I was offered a job at a Cat off highway dealer in Nashville with all tools on a new service truck supplied and benefits. I did not take the job because I had two job offers to choose from back home waiting on me when I graduated. By the way I hated the big city! I started out at a hi performance shop where we built dragsters from the ground up, I would do everything from the electrical to the engine and all the drivetrain. I worked there for years until people learned that I knew what I was doing. After that I opened up my own shop working on hi performance, heavy equipment, and daily drivers. I kept this shop open until 2003 when the local high school wanted me to teach Automotive, this came in handy at the time for me because of health problems. I never would have thought I would be teaching Automotive where I started the trade in high school. I actually enjoy teaching the younger generation about the automotive Industry. I have also learned that if a student truly wants to learn about the trade they will learn, if they are not interested they are wasting the time and money of everyone in the circle. In short NADC was a very good school when I attended if you wanted to learn. In my class there were students that were there for the wrong reason and they did not benefit from there time at NADC. Make a wise decision about your future, choose something you enjoy doing so you don't dread going there everyday.. I have sent several students over the years and most of them have excelled in the automotive or heavy diesel trade. I do not know how it is since Lincoln Tech has took over, but NADC was a very good school for serious technicians."

"Left home at 18 ( first time 450 miles away) home sick for a couple of days, then made new friends(home sick no more). Had a great year, learned a great deal with hands on with the equipment. In 1960-61 there were no text books-the instructor wrote all information and diagrams on to the black board, and guess who had to copy them into our notebooks. The see it-read it-listen to it-,do it method worked great(Super Instructors) Worked for three major trucking companies, retired after 34 years, moved on to another career in welding & fabrication, then assistant welding instructor at a local community college, retired again (FOR GOOD ???). One of my instructors said "you will never get rich as a mechanic, but you can make a very good living"He was right. I have NASHVILLE AUTO DIESEL COLLEGE to thank for my training. In the trucking industry I met a good many other mechanics that attended NADC and all stood out over most learn as you go mechanics."

"If you plan to go back home to a small town in the South don't waste your money . I picked up a few things but not enough to justify the expense. My advice is to find a job in the industry and work your way up. I had to do that after I went to NADC but 20 grand out of pocket. Money my parents paid but could have been better spent . The school is in a rough part of town with hookers and bums around the campus."

"The school is absolutely horrible. From the moment I walked in the door they were lying. My rep was Corey and I told him I couldn't do in class work well, so he said oh it's almost all hands on. I'm in my third mod...around day 70 and I might have seven days in shop. It is the biggest waist of time. The instructors are some of the smartest technicians around but they are the worst teachers around. They charge you thirty thousand and give you a 500 dollar teacher. Horrible school!!!!!!!!!!! Oh did I mention there was a armed robbery across the street then a couple days later a huge drug raid in the house right beside the school. Parents better think twice before sending your kids here and they set them up for failure. They DO NOT I repeat DO NOT want you to succeed they get paid either way because of the way they charge the veterans for the school. Its a joke."

"Look elsewhere. Campus is dirty. The kids are all idiots. It's basically a dumping ground for kids who don't want to go to college. I read lots of reviews saying that you get what you take out of it and that's true. I have a 4.0 and %100 attendance and am on track to having a great career. But I could have gotten a much better experience and education elsewhere. My jaw hurts from gritting my teeth all day because of the stupidity of the kids here. I have had some excellent teachers here who are very knowledgable but they all cater to the lower end kids. I'm not saying you won't learn much here but you will do much better if you look at some other options. The other thing is I have 4 months left of classes and am being forced to switch from night classes to morning which completely ruins my work schedule. They told me this with less than a months notice. Look elsewhere."

"Where do I start... First off Nashville is a great place don't get me wrong but as far as goin to NADC... DO NOT GO. The school is all about money that's all. I been there for one module and stop goin. Mr.black worst teacher there is all he do is talk and talk about nothing. If your recruiter told you that you won't have book work he is a damn lie . Each module you go through there's book work and you barley get to see the shop. College park is the ghetto side of the school I would not want to stay on that side if I was you . Douglas is where I was it's pretty nice an chilled. The dorms there are nasty. My first week there my room mate and I was fighting off roaches, spiders, and other types of bugs. There's no wifi or cable there the dorms are nasty and unclean. About the only thing I can say is good about that school is the food. But the meal plains they have are point less. There's the 10 meal plain and 15 meal plain. They each are designed for u not to eat on the weekends. With the 15 meal plain u can eat 3x a day mon-fri. With the 10 meal plain u can eat 2x a day mon-fri so chooses wisely how to eat."

"This is a fabulous school. Anybody that has anything bad to say about this school either got suspended or expelled because they thought it was smart to come down here and party hardy. And that's now what it's about. If you're on time. Have social skills, can make friends and have commen sense then learning at this school will not be a problem. They have a sophisticated curriculum. I love it down here. Teachers are nice. Students are nice. Every now and then you get a rotten egg. But what school doesn't have a bad student? The lunch is amazing. All you can eat buffet, desert, fountain drinks, breakfast, everything. 3 times a day, 7 days a week. If you get the meal plan. You won't starve. Trust me. The financial aid program is wonderful also, I only had to pay 10,000 to go to this school. And I have until 6 months after I get my first job to pay it off. All the negatives you hear about this school. Are slow paced people. Slow minded, and should have went to a 2-year technical school. You gotta be quick on your feet and already have a good understanding of what feild you're going into. Or you'll be lost. So in other words. Don't go just cause daddy and mommy told you to. Don't go to party. And don't go to waste your time. If you're gonna go. GO! Be punctual, follow the uniform dress code, return back from breaks on time. Keep your ears open and your mouth shut. And you'll be successful at this school."

"I had a good time at NADC when I went. I had a pretty easy time going through the school, growing up on a farm we did most all our own shop work I could rebuild pickup engines and rebuilding auto transmissions at 15. But there was a lot I picked up at NADC, I had a local job lined up before I got out of school and have never had more than 1 day between jobs. I now farm and own a Heavy Duty Tow/Recovery company I went to NADC in 87-88 school year"

"My time at NADC was well worth it--with this background I could get a job anywhere I wanted. I was a Lincoln Mercury technician. But also Mercury & OMC technician. Lincoln Mercury- Ford began testing in 1984 and with my knoledge wasn't left behind like most of the old time mechanics. Not military but did retire the second time from Red River Army Depot. Retired now."
