I am a recent graduate from NAU and I have to say that I am not a proud graduate. I personally believe that NAU is nothing more than a scam artist. In what would have been my last term, I found out that my instructor did not grade an assignment that I had completed and handed in, giving me a D in the course which was a Capstone course, meaning I needed a C to pass. I was 10 points from the C that was needed. I was on vacation when I found out that I needed to repeat the course, and that wasnt even... Read More the topper. The topper was that I was also told I needed to take another class that I had already taken and passed the year before. They also told me that I was out of Financial Aid, so for the last 6 months of school I ended up paying about $7,000 out of my pocket, and thats not including books. Because I was so close to finishing school, I decided to retake these courses. They told me that in order for me to graduate, I needed a B in one class and a C in the capstone course. Since my gut instincts told me that if I got these grades, that somehow I would be told to repeat them again, so I made absolutely sure to get a better grade than what they told me, which I succeeded. I agree with all the 1 star reviewers here, and sadly will give the same rating. Do not waste your money at this school.

I took their IT program. I originally enrolled in the BS program, but converted to the AAS so I would have a credential after the two mark for promotional purposes at work. I'm continuing with the BS program in the fall. I only had issues with two classes, one was due to an instructor that had difficulty making his expectations clear, but once I got used to nailing him down on details and over-delivering, the class went ok. The 2nd issue was due to outdated and broken links in the course material.... Read More When I brought up to the advisor and provost, I was invited to assist with updating the course for the following quarter. The experience wasn't perfect, but the staff and senior leadership were always available to speak with me, and took my feedback seriously. I really appreciated their willingness to listen and work with me. As to the quality of education, my experience so far has been positive. The AAS has a lot of gen-ed to it, and much of it was information I already knew, I just needed more practice. I'm looking forward to the BS program, and I expect to be challenged.

NAU prepare me for my entry into the civilian job market after retiring from the Air Force. As a matter of fact I completed two Bachelor of Science programs there (Applied Management). The instructors were very helpful as many were also employed in their respective fields of expertise. As a matter of fact because of my excellent experience with NAU, I decided to pursue a Masters of Science (MS) degree in Information Technology not at NAU but at another university to prove to myself I had been well... Read More prepared. During my studies for the MS it was clearly evident that my previous studies had prepared me to be successful and I completed my MS with a 4.0/4.0 GPA. You have to be willing to put the work into it to be successful. The difference is if you go to a public college and are not academically inclined, it will not hurt you in the purse as bad.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! I have been attending NAU for the past two years. As an international student I warn every international student, do not waste your money on this school, if I could get out now I would but I would be losing $16000 dollars and not getting the diploma I have already worked so hard for. Don't go to this school!!!! Check around about credit hour prices, trust me you'll be surprised. I attended NAU online at the Sioux Falls school and I attended NAU College of Military Studies. Both are a waste of money and time. They overcharge you for classes and books, but don't explain their return policies or anything else. When you drop out they either try to charge you for tuition or books that you shouldn't owe them for. They are no help whatsoever with your classes or anything else. NAU is a fine college! I'm in my 4th quarter of my NBA. CLASSES are not easy; however, the students are given plenty of resources to be successful. I have never had a problem with financial aid or for that fact with any of NAU. It's a bit different from a state school but still meets the same HLC accreditation. The professors are extremely supportive and understanding. I feel very supported as a student. My only complaint is the high turnover with Grad advisors. I'm on at least my 3rd one... Classes... National American University is absolutely an A++ educational institution! I have attended NAU since March 2015 and will graduate this December 2017 with my MBA degree. I am currently enrolling into the Master of Management Program E-Marketing Emphasis. From day one I have been treated with the greatest amount of respect and supported 100+ percent by Learner/Financial Advisors and Faculty!! This is the solemn truth!! I have NEVER once had a problem with school finances and anytime I have ever contacted... Read More Financial Services, someone returned my call within 24 hours. The courses are challenging, however, if you are wanting to learn they should be! I have been offered support by so many means such as my advisors, librarian, professors, tutors and even school directors. I am shocked with the negative comments left on this forum. I truly believe there are many underlying issues that do not involve NAU alone! The greatest issue facing this institution is the fact that it is willing to take in students with no S.A.T. or A.C.T. scores. This creates a high turnover rate of unsuccessful students. Many students complain that they do not receive the help they need, but the help they need is too significant of an obstacle for them to graduate from any university. You get out of this school what you put into it, like any school. I graduated with my Associates Degree in Business Administration. There will always be classes you don't like, instructors you don't love, and obstacles to overcome. I feel that the staff will address any concerns if they are actually brought to someone's attention. Asking questions, and using the resources provided is the KEY the having the best experience. NAU is seemingly more expensive, but I am happy with my education and I have decided to continue on to obtain my BSN.

I will be graduating with an A.A.S. Management degree from National American University with the conclusion of this current semester. Personally, I have found the staff to be very helpful, especially the Director of Student Success, who seems to be always on hand and responds quickly when I send her a message. The classes are easy to navigate and the curriculum/schedule are well defined and posted. Most importantly, I feel like I have really been learning and I feel prepared to use what I have learned...
