"The Illinois campus gets all the benefit of our $150k tuition. The Florida campus has almost no clubs, no dorms, no gym, no buildings of our own. One facility is shared with a community college all in 3 classrooms with peeling wallpaper and roaches. We literally stomped roaches during lectures. The other building uses only the first floor because the other 3 floors were closed due to ASBESTOS. One of my professors has a bucket next to her desk when it rains. Curriculum is heavily sports and rehab focused so if you want to learn to care for moms/babies, personal injury, or anything else you have to buy further education elsewhere on your own. Only go to NUHS if you attend the Chicago campus, otherwise you may have your white coat ceremony in a dusty lobby of a run down building. Stay away."

"NUHS has a 110 year history of producing the best primary care chiropractic physicians in the world, But I attended their Naturopathic Medicine program which began at NUHS in 2006. This is a primary care doctorate degree focused on natural medicine. Many of the classes are blended together with the chiropractors, and the curriculum is 70% the same. I did enjoy that aspect, but at times, I felt my learning was held back because classes were catered more towards the DC students. I loved my school however and wouldn't choose a different career if I had to do it again."

"This is a great private university for completing your Bachelors in Science very fast. If you are looking to have a career in science or clinical research or even pharma, the education here will help. The class sizes are pretty small, usually between 8-30 people depending on the class. I even had a genetics class that had only two people, which was very hands on. They will try to sell you on going into chiropractic medicine or naturopathic, but don't fall for it. If your going to spend that much money for a doctorate, why not become a real doctor. Most of the DC and ND are so deep into the quackery of their major that they cant see how crappy being a chiropractor really is. Ever notice most chiropractors have tiny little store fronts in strip malls or old houses on busy roads? Stick to the bachelor program and go to a real university for your advanced degree."

"National University of Health Sciences has always looked at it's students as being the fore runners in alternative medicine. By incorporating classroom lecture, hands on lab study and innovative clinic practices, the students leave the program as doctors understanding the importance of wellness and the prevention of diseases to ensure a well balanced life style. With an indepth knowledge of the human body, National graduates are able to think outside the box when treating their patients health needs and help them come to an informed decision on treatment options that in most cases prevents surgery or dangerous drugs. Many of the doctors will successfully return to their home states and practice as primary care physicians specalizing in natural medicine and nutrition. With many doctors choosing to specialize, our country will lose over 133,000 primary care physicians over the next ten years. National helps set the stage for new doctors to help close this gap."

"I like how NUHS challenged me to expand my base science beyond biology. Much emphasis was given to physiology and anatomy to help me become a stronger doctor. They are selective with who they accept, so classes are highly competitive."

"This school is by far THE BEST in the country. National prides itself on the rigorous and comprehensive education it provides. As a naturopath, the student learns and practices a vast variety of modalities in addition to the core skeleton of naturopathy, to include aspects of chiropractic, oriental medicine, acupuncture and massage. In fact, it is the only school that provides the ability to dual enrol in two of the aforementioned programs. All of the services offered are student focused without ever having to wait in line. Classroom sizes are incredibly intimate so there is much one-on-one time with instructors (approximately 20 to 30 students). National University also has a Whole Health Clinic on site where students can get an entire year of internship hours working with reputable clinicians with a wide variety of experience as well as receive free services themselves."

"The science courses were challenging but not unbearable. The teachers for the most part are very helpful and will assist you if you make an appointment or if you wait after class. The campus is older but not bad and I felt completely safe. I like that it is a small campus, because it makes it easy to find a study buddy."

"This school is only after your money. Stay away. They mislead students into thinking lucrative careers in chiropractic await them upon graduation - the average chiro associate comes out of school making 30-40k with 150k in loans. This is one of the worst investments you could make. Even if students open their own practices upon graduation, the average take home salary is around 60k. There are many other degrees in the medical field with a lot cheaper price tag that will give a student a much better starting salary, and many more options for their future. If you have a chiropractic degree - that is pretty much all you can do with it as most other professions will not consider your chiropractic training as a valuable school. If you are reading this, do not make the same mistake that I did. IF only someone had warned me like this prior to starting this school, things would be much different for me professionally. Good luck in any other discipline."

"I think overall National is not the best choice for a chiropractic education. Also, they are now at risk for losing their accreditation and were put on notice by the Higher Learning Commission. I would advise people to lookup their notice on the HLC website before deciding to come here. I would not want to go into 200k of debt if it's not as legit as it seems. I am really upset with its administration as well seeing that they lied to all the students to try to make it sound like it was no big deal, but it definitely is a big deal!"

"I am currently pursuing a degree in Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine and am overall pleased with my experience. The majority of the faculty and staff members are very knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects. The clinic-run primarily by intern students, for students-is a great resource for both affordable healthcare and experience. The housing, though expensive, reflects other housing options in the area, and is located conveniently on the campus. The financial aid office is very helpful with questions and concerns. The only changes I would make are relatively minor: Wi-Fi in the apartments, a cafeteria of sorts (not just vending machines and the bookstore snacks), and increased availability of the learning resource center (open more hours)."

"The administration could use a little more help, but the school is quite small. Most are very helpful, and the curriculum is great."

"The Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Program is accelerated and encompasses integrated medicine (Western and Oriental). As such, it incorporates the Anatomy lab, Western diagnostics and skills as well as Oriental diagnosis and treatment plan strategies. It is intense! Yet, the Professors have considerable experience and expertise. They are very accessible. Moreover, the clinic is integrative; i.e., offering opportunities to work alongside Chiropractors, MD's, Diagnostic Imaging Experts, Naturopaths, and Massage Therapists. I don't know of any other program that offers such a diverse and integrated environment!"

"I love learning about naturopathic medicine. The professors are very knowledgeable and inspire my ability to succeed in this re emerging field. We are trained as primary care physicians although the curriculum is very rigorous. I'm also studying for my Master in Oriental medicine and I'm also very happy with the curriculum and professors. The school is located near the city of Chicago which offers so many exciting things to do if I had free time. Financial aid is not sufficient for the cost of living in the area. My tuition is covered but I struggle with paying for my off campus rent, books, school supplies and food."

"Program vigorous and intense but it's all worth it! Like any medical program - the 1st term and year is probably the most challenging. You learn a great deal of information in a relatively small amount of time on wide array of subjects (Anatomy, Botanicals, Counseling, Biochemistry etc.). There are things that are frustrating but if you focus on your goals it will be alright! It's a beautiful campus with a revamped library! The profession is growing it's certainly !"

"This graduate program had several pros - the first that where the most important and highest on the list in my opinion was the fact that NUHS trains each student to be a primary care physician. What this means is that we are not just chiropractors we are looked at and trained as Doctors of the state of Illinois. Another huge pro of this program was the program offered a bi-degree as well as single degrees, meaning you could get a Doctorate of Chiropractic and a ND as well - Natropathic Doctor, the reason this is a pro is because we got to experience not only medical and chiropractic classes, but also Botantical classes - from the ND side. Another Pro was in a a class which we had 7th trimester I believe (there are 10 Trimesters in the program if you go full time) we had the benefit of working side by side with an ND who was at the same education level as us and what the huge benefit with this was the class was a doctor/patient relationship class and we had to get random live sim patients with made up problems and do our best to diagnose them. Long story short we had DC side and ND side. The biggest CON national faces is that it has so much freaking potential they just need to get a few things situated, BUT the president who just recently took over is basically changing everything around and I am just happy that the future NUHS students will get the benefits that I didn't."

"I love the location, being able to live on campus, the facilities (except for the gym) and being able to use the clinic for all of my medical needs for free. Not all of the professors are great and sometimes people do not respond to my e-mails, otherwise I am very happy where I am and the courses that I am taking."

"Program is very challenging but that is expected for a medical school program. Pursuing a degree in alternative medicine is a passion and calling and being surrounded by like minded students and teachers is exciting! The level of diversity is rather slow which is a bit of a disappointment and career support is non-existent which is unfortunate."

"I believe my graduate program at this school is very good because each student has the opportunity to choose if they want to be full time or part time and finished the program in between 3-5 years depends on the course load that each student prefers. Also, all professors are very qualified and have many years of experience not only at this school but in general. Another very important thing is that for each class the university has a tutor that students can go for free and this give the opportunity to all students to have better grades in all classes."
