"I would not recommend this program. It is full of busy work without any meaningful instruction- at all. It was least expensive I found but there's an adage that goes along with that. I graduated. Were it not for what I learned during my clinical rotations I would not be prepared at all."

"Northern Kentucky University is a hidden gem. I chose NKU because financially I needed to stay in state for my education and it was unlike any other school in the state. The location is a large benefit, students are about 7 minutes from downtown Cincinnati. There is always something do and to get involved in. The faculty at NKU are the most genuine, caring, and truly loving individuals I have met. Students are encouraged to do what they are passionate about, they are never swayed down the wrong path just for the university to make an extra dollar, and it is small enough where you feel like you are known but big enough where it doesn't feel like high school. NKU will foster your dreams and individuality."

"Chose this due to the "scholarship" award, was told several of MSN courses I had already would transfer in 8/18 but was not given the final decision until 1/26/2019 after already retaking several courses I already had, this was disheartening to say the least. The course work I had before was 10yrs old but was WORTH the time I spent, this program is 100% teaching yourself, ok, may 90% but most courses was 100% self-taught. I am now in a specialty tract with the same results. There are NO online or video lectures, I am reading 15 chapters a week, condensed a 16 wk course literally into 7 wks with discussion board postings that do nothing for my learning and actually take away from the time I need to teach myself the course content from the readings, there are only about 1% content covered in power points but no discussion or instructor review/commentary of the material on them. I've not gotten any feedback on my case studies, or discussion board postings or replies, and no correct answers on quizzes so I don't know what I am missing or not missing. I am not even sure they are reading the discussion board postings in the specialty track at all. If i had to do this over, I would NOT chose NKU! I feel unprepared for clinicals let alone the boards and practice."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Northern Kentucky University when I attended for my Bachelor's degree. It is the perfect university for those who want a small town college, but close to Downtown Cincinnati at the same time. NKU offers plenty of performances in their BB&T Arena; have a superb basketball team; their theatre department can rival others in the area. I'm looking forward to heading back this fall for my graduate degree!"

"The faculty and course content was appropriate. My problem was the system called Canvass. I reviewed the online Canvass tutorial but it was not helpful when it came to staying organized with the live program. Too much content was printed, the canvass view was cluttered and confusing to use. I am a hands on person and a little older than my cohorts and the online review was not helpful. Contacts to the IT department were not helpful either. Maybe more input from older students returning for their doctorate should be incorporated in next canvass update. When I say older I mean those 60 and older. I withdrew because canvass was a big change from blackboard. So for students who are not computer savvy take learning a new/different online system into consideration"

"As far as quality of curriculum is concerned, the Northern Kentucky University Theatre Department is pretty darn good. It's often considered the most advanced university theatre program in the state of Kentucky. Western Kentucky University comes in at a close second (at least this was the case when I was still attending NKU between 2013 and 2017). With all of that being said, it is a tough program to endure if you are a minority student. I was the only black female playwriting student in the program for the duration of time that I was there. I found the sometimes racially insensitive department culture frustrating. However, there are some gem professors who will change your life: Mike Hatton, Daryl Harris and Corrie Danieley to name a few. If you've got the determination to get as much out of the program and from the surrounding Greater Cincinnati theatre community as you possibly can, then apply! It's a great place to get a B.A. and/or B.F.A in theatre."

"My program was industrial/organizational psychology which is very business related (HR). The key improvement would be to require an internship or help more to get practical experience. All jobs typically list 3-5 years of experience as a requirement."

"College is a time of exploring new ideas, social settings and activities. Make the most of all of these without sacrificing one for the other. Be serious about exploring job opportunities while you're still in college. Network. Intern. Don't take out large amounts of debt if you can help it. Have a future plan, even if it changes."

"The school itself is decent. The campus is a good size and has had several updates since I have graduated. The classes were good, decent in size, nice knowledgeable professors. School is lacking in networking opportunities and advising both academic and career."

"This program is the most unorganized, confusing and mediocre program I have ever attended. Instructors expect Graduate level work but only put out elementary level instruction and materials. Rife with misspellings and poorly developed classes. Powerpoints look like they were assembled by a fifth grader, the instructors claim to want to help you succeed but are incapable of putting together an intelligible assignment. The clinical programs are so confusing that 3 weeks into a semester, few have started due to misinformation and contradicting information. They try to re-use material but do not change the original due dates and information that has changed since their lesson plans were developed. I had very similar situations in undergrad (ADN) courses here as well that led me to get a BSN elsewhere. Grad level is no different. I do not know how they keep accreditation honestly. I DO NOT recommend this graduate level program for anyone. I will probably end up leaving NKU and going to Mount Saint Joseph University in Cincinnati or Xavier."

"The NKU MBA program was a wonderful opportunity to explore all aspects of business. The class sizes are small enough that you get to know your professors and peers on a deeper level, creating relationships that last past graduation."
