"Oklahoma City University had many great qualities, however, it also had many frustrating qualities. One of the main issues that I had with the school was the schedule of courses that were required for my major. As a dance major, I not only took dance classes, but I was also required to take regular academics. The issue here was that the dance school and the college itself clearly did not talk enough. I was required to take a certain amount of credits in jazz, tap, ballet, and etcetera. Many of my dance classes would conflict with my academics. In order to get all of my credits done in time, I either had to participate in a summer course through the school, or take the academics online and transfer them in. This was extremely frustrating. I was already taking out thousands in student loans to afford to go to this school. Then on top of that I began having to spend even more money to other colleges in order to receive my diploma on time. I believe that this was something that the school could have worked on. I believe that there should have been other ways to keep this from happening. It was not only a financial burden, but it also made everything extremely more stressful. I believe that any student who is looking into coming to Oklahoma City University should be aware that they will have to spend extra money by transferring in more credits to the school in order to graduate."

"The school of theater was a great place to learn and grow. I was able to pursue my major, as well as multiple minors within the SoT that fulfilled all of my interests. The professors were hands on, and extremely invested in their students. In addition, I was a four year member of the honors program, which was an excellent way to continue to be challenged academically throughout college. OCU is a great place for those wishing to pursue various interests, those wanting a challenge, those who like to overachieve, and those looking for a truly personal college experience."

"Oklahoma City University was the perfect school for me. I wanted somewhere to hone my creative skills and to allow me to mature while far away from home, but in a safe place. OCU was a 7-hour drive from my hometown, making it seem like a world away, but close enough to go home frequently. It's a small school and the academics were easy for an over-achiever for me, but the challenge in my major was enough. They are working on building a diverse student body. The teachers really care about their students, and there is a service learning aspect which is nice. The dance, music, law, nursing, and business schools are well-known."

"I received my Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre from Oklahoma City University from 2008 to 2012. It is a very small campus with just over 4,000 total students in all departments. Due to the size, it becomes a very personal and hands on experience everywhere you go. I loved that I knew almost everyone I saw walking on campus, and that it did not take long to get from one place to another. Each department at this institution is exceptional, especially the performing arts schools. Whether it's music, acting, or dance, each department at OCU has the professors and opportunites to prepare any aspiring performer for work, immediately following graduation. You make a family at OCU, and those connections will serve you greatly long after you leave campus. Go Stars!"

"Oklahoma City University is a great institution to pursue your degree at. I pursued my Master's Degree in Accounting there and the program was just what I needed to further my career. The instructors are very insightful and the university does a wonderful job of including adjunct professors that bring actual relevant experience to their classrooms."

"I would highly recommend the programs at Oklahoma City University, Kramer School of Nursing. The faculty are super to work with and learn with and understand the needs of working students. The curriculum is challenging and I feel prepared to move forward with my graduate studies as a result of attending here."

"The instruction is detailed and organized. Few books are required. The professors are thorough, caring, and communicate consistently. The curriculum is well-rounded and seems to provide rigorous preparation for a career. There are many opportunities for clinical practice even before the start of the clinical year."

"The environment was excellent for learning. The small class sizes were very conducive to learning and discussion. The instructors were friendly and approachable. The campus was safe and clean. Students interacted with each other without regard to major. I highly recommend this University."

"The Nonprofit Leadership Program is the only program like it in Oklahoma. The program director is a former Executive Director for United Way and a pillar of the community. He makes sure that we have the best professors. They are individuals who are either current or former leaders in the community."

"The professors at OCU make it a personal experience you're unlikely to find at a large state school. My instructors cared about me on a personal level and my achievement in the program, not about pushing me through and getting paid. The courses I took helped to prepare me for the CPA exam as well as for projects and responsibilities that I would go on to encounter in my career. The classes are evening classes so working and going to school is totally manageable."

"I've talked with fellow 1Ls at east coast law schools, such as the law school at the University of Virginia, and feel competitive at their level. I like how accessible our faculty is at all times. They treat us like professionals, without talking down to us or belittling us, yet I feel I'm becoming more and more prepared for a profession of law by the week. Faculty are supportive, patient, and always careful to take the time to understand student questions. My biggest qualms with OCU School of Law are the price of tuition, the lack of scholarship opportunities, and the surround area's safety. It seems 23rd Street is becoming a better, cleaner, and safer place to be as the years go on, but I'm still glad the school is moving further downtown. I am thrilled with my choice of OCU and can't wait to say I'm an alum of their law school!"

"It's a great program; however, the price is incredibly and painfully high. Some of the academic support is not the greatest, but I do get the feeling that everyone wants me to succeed."

"The price of the program is definitely a con. It is so much more expensive to attend OCU than it is to attend OU. The only reason I chose OCU over OU was because OCU has a part time evening program where working adults can still attend while working full-time."

"It appears the OCU Law program will give a student a solid set of skills to begin practicing upon graduation. Many Oklahoma judges have a OCU diploma. The alumni network appears strong. The professors seem to actually care about your success and take an interest in teaching. The new dean appears to have a plan to take the school in a positive new direction starting with the school's move to downtown Oklahoma City. This is a good thing, since the current building is old and crumbling. Parking is also a challenge. The only other con I can mention right now is the tuition: expensive when compared to a state school. However, OCU is the only law school in Oklahoma that has an evening program for working students, so the tradeoff might be worth it."
