The lessons were all from the early 90s. Old block macs, polaroids, floppy discs. I just requested my money back and threatened with lawyer. Never was I told this data would be from the 90s. I finished most of the program but I found it hard towards the end to keep going knowing its all so dated and these peopke scammed me out of $800.
I am currently enrolled in Medical Billing and Coding and I have to say it was easy till I got to the coding part. It isnt easy which is nice cause things shouldnt just be handed to you. I also went to penn foster for my high school diploma and never had a problem with them. The only thing I hate is how I cant transfer my credits over till my current course is paid for. I am trying to transfer my credits over to their MA program but cant. Minus that the school is great. I love that its all at my own pace. I am a mother of two and I cant always make it to a class but I can sit down at bedtime and do some work and the payments I can work with.
I completed the program and made my monthly payments. I never received my certificate and was later told that I could not have it until I paid in full. I am a single mom and fight to stay ahead and this career was supposed to help me achieve that. THEY ARE RIDICULOUS!!!
The school is a scam. There is no admittance process. They allow anyone in as long as you pay. The professors all seem like automated responses saying look in the study material. When you loose interest and try to cancel you school GOOD LUCK GETTING ANY MONEY BACK!!!!
I just enrolled in the Penn foster program and so far so good.I enjoy getting my education on my own time.I have been seeing alot of negative talk about this school but 9 times out of 10 most people will write a bad review just because of a slight misunderstanding they had with a Instructor...etc. Me personally I just want to get me education and further my career in what I love to do in the Healthcare field .and I feel by me being enrolled with penn foster onlince classes will most definently help me.every time I call with a question or in need of help with a subject I have always received Great services.I would most def recommend penn foster to anyone that really wants to educate them self.
I enrolled in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program. I was given about a five minute tutotial on how to use the site, how to do my classwork, etc. over the phone and then left for dead. Webinars? I didn't even know those were part of the course until I was e-mailed to let me know I was severely behind on them. Not once in nine months did I have a silibus to explain the course and what's expected; an e-mail or mailing to let me know how the course worked; any interaction with an instructor... unless you count the webinars I finally figured out how to use. I don't. Most webinars are continuously cancelled, especially the required ones. The material is out of date. The website is a joke. Yes, let's make a social media site instead of an operational education site. MOST universities will not accept transfer credits from Penn Foster, and Penn Foster accepts very few transfer credits from other universities. The worst part for me though was Penn Foster's Student Care Department. If you call as a prospective student you get to speak someone right away. If you call as a current student you wait roughly 15-30 minutes on hold before speaking to someone who tells you they can't answer your question but they will have thier supervisor call you back at their convenience. Even if you offer to hold for a supervisor, they're ALWAYS in a meeting. If you go online and try to chat through thier Student Care chat the representative just spams the hours to call Student Care... who tells you they can't help you but they'll have someone call you back... who never does. It was infuriating. And all I wanted to do was change degrees. If you're considering going to school online look into your local community colleges, technical school, or universities. You might pay a little more but trust me it's worth it! I would only use Penn Foster again as a last resort. Maybe if all the schools in the world closed except for Penn Foster... but only then.
Penn Foster will randomly add on charges to your balance and there is nothing you can about it. Because if you decide to withdraw from the school, you will still have to pay and your balance will go to collections and be reported. I left Penn Foster for mistreatment from the Math department, they were very unprofessional and rude. I came back 9 months later after being promised they had a new tutoring system online. I was told my previous balance would be combined with my new balance and I could pay it off with extended payments. Not True!! The amounts were never combined. Penn Foster added on extra fees for the previous balance and I found out later that if I had paid the collection company, I would have saved $350. Penn Foster charged the full amount and the fees they paid the Collection company and added on 'other fees'. I came back to better my life and was willing to take responsibility for my debt, in doing so, Penn Foster continues to increase my old debt and refuses to work with me. I regret coming back to Penn Foster and if you can afford to go anywhere else, I would. You get what you pay for. Penn Foster is a cheap school, in more ways than one.
Three years ago, I received my certificate for pet grooming. When it was time to get my business management degree, Penn Foster was my first choice. I am still working on the associates degree, but I love being able to learn on line and not actually have to attend classes. The courses are very easy and self explanatory and keep me challenged as I advance. I feel that the opportunities that will open up in my future are huge! Thanks Penn Foster
I enrolled at Penn Foster in November 2013, and love it. Signing up was easy and very helpful. The website is very easy to get around. We are currently enrolling our daughter in a community college in our town and the sign up on there website is not clear and the staff at the school are not very helpful. It makes me appreciate how nice of a school Penn Foster is. I have been in the medical field and work for a well known company in my town for 14 years, and with my program have learned so much. The program is helping me do things more accurately and also has shown me in areas I could improve with my professionalism. After I finish my program I had plans to in enroll in our community college here, but after the problems I have had with my daughter's sign and my good experience I have had with Penn Foster. I will enroll in the degree program with Penn Foster with no question.
I thought Pennfoster would be the perfect school for me. So far it has been ok. I feel they don't care about their students. I have not received books for any courses in about 8 months. I am a single mom of two kids working hard to make a better life for my kids and I. It would be helpful if they actually would help me complete the program . I struggle to make the payments while taking care of a disabled child and a toddler by myself. They have made it harder for me to complete the courses due to not having any materials to study.
