The financial department is crooked!! The reviews that I have read speaking of this are true. Paying out of pocket for all my books, there was loans taken out that never was shown to me til after the fact. I withdrew from Post University after being told for the mod I was in enrolled in was going to cost $2500 out of pocket. In rereturn I could not afford this, now I'm being told I owe the University back $1700 back under title IV. After getting a run around from I withdrew to late or I didn't withdraw in time there is still no answers. The actual counselor was helpful and respond back to any questions or emails. The staff themselves was a joke!! I really want to finish my degree and I'm so close..
I decided to leave this school because the Masters of Education at Post University did not meet my expectations. The professors and administration are not helpful, not supportive, do not care about students, does not provide feedback to help you to succeed and do a poor job. I am going to get my Masters of Education somewhere else better. I do not plan to return to this school.
Post University has been a lifesaver for me. I am currently on active duty and plan on retiring in next couple months, Post was the first university to cover my books after I received my Associates Degree. They are very user friendly. They have an excellent turn around time in reference to getting you a student agreement after you send in your information (AARTS, transcripts, and other docs). I received my information the next day. The curriculum can be challenging but it is very relevant. Some of the classes that have took actually dealt with some of the topics that I deal with at work in Human Resources and as an Instructor. I am definitely not saying that it is easy, but it is obtainable, you have to manage your time wisely. If you call them they will return your call if they are unavailable. They have a Malcolm Baldridge Business Accredidation (he went to the school). There are presidential awards given to businesses in the name of Baldridge. Post is ranked as one of the "BEST" online Universities and it is true. I could actually be there spokesperson if they asked. I try to tell everyone one I can, because they try to make going to school as smooth as possible without all the headaches. EXCELLENT UNIVERSITY, I GRADAUTE IN MAY 2015!!!
The experience I had with the support staff, professors and students have been great. I learned so much along the way from both the professors and students. I proudly graduated in front of my daughters who have inspired me to pursue my Masters degree. I am currently pursuing my MBA through Post University and their degree programs have landed me an excellent career.
Beware of Post University, I read some bad reports online but I did not listen. First of all they are a FOR PROFIT school, and they do not care about you or your needs. All post cares about are their checks from the government. Post is disorganized and their so called academic success advisers are a joke. I was told I would hear from them on a weekly to monthly basis, after being at post for 7 months I have never received a phone call or email. I tried to transfer and all of a sudden I was told I must take classes or I would owe them money. They purposely ignored phone calls from the university I was transferring to. After many calls,(over 7 days) and being placed on hold for extended periods of time, they replied in an email they were unable to send my transcripts because their was an "issue with my acct". They are an awful school and I regret going there, my only hope is that I can stop others from making the mistake I did. Do yourself a favor and research all universitys keenly before signing on the dotted line.
School sucks literally I graudated high school 7 years ago and P.U. still need high school transcripts to process financial aid bull crap in the midst of arguing with my advisor I told her I was leaving because my transcripts hadn't come and I can't afford classes she then said the moment you logged in your responsible can you say scam yea I am sure bbb would hear about this
Maybe things are different on campus, but online the site is built terribly. You'll be spending hours trying to get it work instead of working. There's very little actually help when it comes to teachers, financial, or technically. The online program just seems way behind and is not worth paying money for.
Post University is wonderful. The faculty and staff seem to genuinely care about the students and their success. Most of my instructors would work with me when life would arise and I needed extensions, or simply didn't understand something. The staff is great to work with, all respond quickly. Most important to me was a business/marketing program that was a "Science" degree (not an Arts degree) that was from a legitimate brick and mortar school- with dorms, sports teams, etc. I value my degree more knowing that it came from the same place that traditional students get theirs from. While there are cheaper online programs (and definitely more expensive), many are from for-profit businesses, and not actual educational institutions.
The impact in earning my college degree had affected my life tremendously. It has made my home life hectic but it has made my career easier as a Quality Technician and Audits. The experience that I have had at Post so far has been good and bad. The bad side is I had an instructor that wasn’t that great in Module 1 and I failed participating to my full benefit because of the misguided direction in the course. The other bad experience is being accused of plagiarism when I wrote a story about my own personal life experience. I originally wrote the story in 2004 and someone had published a similar story on a website in 2009 yet I received a zero. It was upsetting, discouraging and humiliating. I got over it and went on and was thankful that I was not expelled from the class. The professor had every right to dismiss me and she didn’t. I thank her tremendously. The overall experience at Post has been excellent. My success coach is great, my financial advisor is great, and my instructors moving forward have been great. I couldn’t have picked a better university from the experience I have received from Post. I hope it continues to go down this positive road. I recommend Post most definitely.
I enjoyed Post for the first few years I was there. Now it seems as if they are trying to get rid of me. They are assigning grades that are funny they are so low. I actually received a 10 out of a possible 100 last week for a discussion board! I didn't know you could get a 10 unless you just didn't hand in any work. I thought it was a mistake so I wrote the teacher who told me she thought I was trying to get my future clients to like me. A 90 point deduction for liking me? I admit I'm not the greatest guy in the world but I shouldn't be charged 90 points for letting anyone like me. The school has now started having people turn in here first db by Wednesday along with discussions of two other's work. Online school used to be about people being able to work while in class. All I have learned in the last few classes is how much I hate turning in work there. I am transferring to finish my degree because Post demands that you perform a field practicum for each concentration that you take. I do not live in CT nor do I want to. They do not help you at all in finding the sites where you can perform these practicums but won't let you graduate without them. I found three sites and asked for them to be approved by Post, but they were all turned down. I wasn't told about these practicums and they do not give the online students a catalogue to work from. I have had four different advisors since I have been there as well. Do yourself a favor and either go to a "brick and mortar" school or look for state schools who are starting to have online schools.
