"Great school with more financial aid than SUNY schools. Focus on science and research, so if you want to go into direct practice and not graduate school, more clinical programs at other schools would be better. Overall, good faculty, staff, program."

"Excellent science college, engineering and computer systems colleges. Nerdy culture and made for those who know what they want for a major and are willing to work for it."

"The co-op program is awesome. Half the professors are awful, the other half are somewhere between ok and awesome"

"RIT is a great school for the technology sector. Many of my friends are highly successful in their engineering or computer related fields. Career suppirt for my major left something to be desired. Great hockey atmosphere too!"

"RIT is a great school with excellent professors. RIT offers programs which include co-op (work) blocks so that students can graduate with work experience to overcome the most common hurdle a graduate has, lack of experience."

"Rit seemed to care less about students the longer I was there. Class sizes kept increasing"

"If you are interested in psychology and research or psych and going to grad school, this is the school for you. If you're looking for psychology and going into some sort of human services field, there are a lot cheaper schools that will give you a better experience."

"RIT is an excellent school to attend to pursue a graduate degree. Faculty excel in helping place their students in jobs applicable to their field of study. They focus on molding students who are excellent in their field and competitive in the job market. They do this by bringing companies, businesses, and organizations to the campus for job fairs and internship opportunities. RIT encourages students to work with students in other disciplines. They challenge students to work together on projects in order to develop cross-disciplinary knowledge. RIT emphasizes the importance of technology and its constantly changing nature. They do this by maintaining top of the line, up-to-date technology for its students in the classroom, laboratories, studio spaces, computer labs, and lounge areas. The blend of students and their interests on campus is exciting. Students are highly intelligent and social. Faculty and staff encourage a welcoming and down to earth attitude amongst its students. RIT has greatly built up its "college town" experience. There are many restaurants, cafes, stores, living quarters, and lounge areas for students. The location of RIT is not prime. Campus is in Henrietta, which is a 15 minute drive from the city of Rochester making it driving distance from activities outside of the RIT community."

"Was fast paced which worked well for me to not get bored with classes. The depth was maybe not perfect due to the pace but the skills I learned in order to keep up/do well have been more valuable to me in my job than the exact nature of what I learned. The mandatory co-op/intern system helped me choose what field of engineering I wanted to pursue."

"It is a good school, but like most schools struggles to find good, helpful, knowledgeable professors. I had some good ones and a lot of bad ones, but the co-op program offered by RIT is the best I know of and has been a real leg up in the search for a job. I started at my current position less than a month after I graduated and I attribute it partly to the experience I gained through the co-op program."

"Due to economic downturn there went that many internships available and I took a liberal arts degree at a technical school hat was my fault, but all these professors taught though provoking courses and were readily available for discussions on class materials on resources on writing a resume and finding a job. Tuition was raised while I was school, housing was unnecessarily complicated and the ten week quarters was very different then what I expected but all things considered I love RIT."

"RIT is significantly larger than the college I attended for my undergraduate career. Understandably, teacher to student ratio, and thus the level of attention, is not quite at the level of a smaller school. However, the opportunities are greater for the program of study I am registered for. RIT has more connections with local businesses and the community. The network spans over a larger area, which increases the student's opportunity to make a positive difference in the community. The resources available to the students also makes this institute worth the time and energy to attend. The surrounding area is relatively affordable, however with the cost of tuition and other expenses, this extra cost of living becomes a burden."

"RIT is a great school for those we love to study and work hard. I am in the mechanical engineering technology program at RIT and I love it. The teachers are great and are classes are so hands on. This is what really drew me to the M.E. tech program. The class sizes are much smaller than that of the M.E's. I feel a much closer bond with my teachers as well as fellow classmates. I would have to say my least favorite part about RIT has to be it's miserable winters which seem to never end. Another great thing about RIT is all the clubs and activities. There are plenty of club and intramural activities, which all are very easy to join. Academically RIT is amazing, especially if you are planning to study something within the field of science or technology. They also have a really good photography program as well. I would recommend RIT for those who are strong willed, hardworking, and success driven. If you are not sure whether college is for you, I might recommend some place else. RIT keeps students very busy with work and partying is certainly not as common as it is at other schools. However, parties do happen and sometimes they can be fun! The other great thing about RIT, that kind of makes up for the lack of parties, is the fact that you will meet some insanely interesting and diverse people. People come from all around the country to go to RIT. There is also such a wide range of majors offered at RIT that you are bound to meet people with many different interests and personalities. There really isn't a stereotypical RIT students, because everyone is really quite different. So far RIT has been great for me, and I know it will really pay off in the future. GO TIGERS!"

"One of the most significant strengths of this particular program is the immediate and direct application of coursework in a practical setting. Students begin their first practicum placement in the first semester, which greatly enhances learning."
