Rutgers University-Newark Reviews
Student & Graduate Reviews (3)
The psychology program at Rutgers University-Newark was one that was unique. The program exposes students to the realities that are associated with working in the field of psychology as well as granting students the opportunity to put what they have learned into practice.
My University is fantastic when it comes to educating students on the curriculum however, when it comes to finding a suitable career that allows you to pay back your student loan debt, they are not very helpful. I love the environment, they encourage humanitarian efforts and have options to pick and choose courses that interest you. Although I made my plans for pursuing a career in Dentistry clear to my professors and I demonstrated academic excellence by maintaining a 3.4 GPA, I was still unable to even get an interview into their Rutgers dental program. I have secured a seat at a different university but as Rutgers alumni I would have liked to have a bit of acknowledgement from the alma mater.
The department of Social work has some extraordinary staff and professors who are well informed and helpful. The classes are great and you will learn a great deal about American Social Welfare Policies, and how to respect diversity.
