"Saint John's University is a small liberal arts campus surrounded by breathtakingly beautiful Minnesotan woods and lakes. It is also partnered with the nearby College of Saint Benedict's, and classes are held on both campuses. The atmosphere at the school will hit you within minutes, as the politeness of the students to one another really made the school stand out to me. There is an undertone of civility to life at Saint John's that has gone missing from the larger US society. My time on campus was truly educational as well, for since the campus is secluded in the woods of Minnesota, most of the students live on campus allowing for student bonding and educational talks well into the night. The professors encouraged this air of exploration by prompting the students to think and debate a whole slew of issues. For a small liberal arts college in the middle of nowhere (metaphorically speaking) the talent of the faculty was mind-blowing. The professors are all there because they want to teach, and I can honestly say that I did not have a single bad teacher during my tenure there. More than that, a series of professors certainly fit the "life-changing" mold. I cannot recommend Saint John's University highly enough for motivated students who want to learn from both their professors and peers alike."

"Saint John's University is an incredible school situated in the backwoods of central Minnesota. Professors of your degree of choice are highly qualified and further your professional work ethic and ways of thinking. While this is important, the most valuable lessons learned came from the liberal arts courses. Students choose from a diverse array of courses and have the opportunity to think for themselves in constructive manners. This yielded a constructive and positive outlook on the world."

"College was a great experience! It gave me a chance to broaden my horizons and network, along with learning new content, while in a less controlled environment than home, but a less controlled environment than post-college life. It was worth it for me for the experience and degree I achieved, but everyone is different, and should not go to college because they feel obligated. It's a cost-benefit analysis, and should be something you want to do."

"University of St John/College of St. Benedict was a superior school for even-handed, pastorally responsible theological studies. The school of theology/seminary was an excellent learning environment and well supported by the university at large as well as a collection of genuinely scholarly faculty. I recommend this university."
