College was a great experience! It gave me a chance to broaden my horizons and network, along with learning new content, while in a less controlled environment than home, but a less controlled environment than post-college life. It was worth it for me for the experience and degree I achieved, but everyone is different, and should not go to college because they feel obligated. It's a cost-benefit analysis, and should be something you want to do.
University of St John/College of St. Benedict was a superior school for even-handed, pastorally responsible theological studies. The school of theology/seminary was an excellent learning environment and well supported by the university at large as well as a collection of genuinely scholarly faculty. I recommend this university.
