"I attended the Madrid campus of Saint Louis University and only attended the Missouri campus one semester. Overall it was an amazing experience, I highly recommend it."

"SLU Law is a great school with a lot of caring people that are there to help and support you. The new building is great! I love that the parking garage is in the building. All of my classes are in the same building. It helps keep me safe and helps save time. I am a quiet person, and usually keep to myself. The faculty see that and still make me feel welcomed and cared for."

"The value of my degree is undeniable. Right now, Masters in Physician Assistant Studies is the most economic degree in our country. It is also a pivotal profession as it will change the future of healthcare and its effectiveness to meet the needs of our country and citizens. Unfortunately, the rigor of my program does not allow me to engage in the culture surrounding St. Louis. More interaction with the people I will serve in the future would better prepare me for a career after graduation."

"SLU's MPH program so far has been very comprehensive and has made me more interested in public health. The program makes sure that you are receiving not only classroom education, but also experience out in the field. The workload is manageable if you put in enough time to it. The professors really care about their students and give constructive feedback on assignments and projects. As far as cons are concerned, Saint Louis in general is not the safest area and I try not to go out at night, which could be unappealing for someone who enjoys the nightlife. They also have limited avenues for financial assistance, which is difficult since it is a private university. Overall though, I have enjoyed my schooling there!"

"Saint Louis University provided me with far than just a degree. Through college I was able to obtain real-world experiences, create lasting relationships with friends, classmates, and professors, and become a part of a large community. My time at Saint Louis University changed me for the better and I could not be more happy that I made the decision to attend SLU."

"It was an interesting journey, and I would like to take my master's but I can't find time and money to do so. Need this to get a better job, but I also wish I took up something rather than tourism."

"I only attended the home campus in Missouri for one semester, the rest of the time I was in Madrid at the Spain campus and that was an amazing experience. Great profs, just an amazing student body, and obviously the best of settings. I was studying International Business, so it made that so much better."

"I am pursuing two graduate programs: one in law and one in health administration. The programs do not always work well together in terms of scheduling classes, making for some really long days with constant back-to-back classes. Additionally, my health administration program--though it is a well established program--does not cultivate and maintain its alumni network as best as it could, sometimes making the process of finding connections with alumni difficult. On the flip side, however, the law school career services staff are spectacular, and are more than able to make connections with prior dual-degree alums, which makes up for some of the difference in the other program. I do think that--while I sometimes have reservations about both programs--the combination of both degrees will make me better capable to achieve the career I want in hospital administration."

"The public health program at Saint Louis University is well regarded in the field of public health and produces graduates who are ready to tackle various national and global challenges in public health. A key strength of the program is opportunity to combine concentrations to gain a larger scope on the different areas of public health. In regard to a disadvantage of the program, graduate assistantships are competitive, but the faculty and staff are helpful in assisting students find opportunities for work or internships."

"The program I entered is the Accelerated Generalist Masters in Nursing. It's a degree program for students that hold a Bachelors degree outside of nursing. It's accelerated, obviously, so a large amount of information is crammed into a short amount of time. The location is ideal because it's close to Forest Park (Zoo, Art museum, golfing if you're into that) and the school is very close to the hospitals for classes."

  • Degree: Spanish
"Choosing Saint Louis University - Madrid for my Masters degree in Spanish has, so far, been te best academic choice! There are a lot of choices when choosing Graduate school and for what my academic needs are (Masters in Spanish), this is perfect! Pro's: 1) Small program: the MA in Spanish at SLU is a small program and that is excellent. The students are in many of the same classes which form really good relationships and study groups. I know all the students in my program and feel comfortable talking, studying and asking them for advice. Because it is a small program the professors, faculty and administrators also know all the students and there is a sense of friendship and almost, family, within the Masters program. 2) Accessibility to professors & advisors: My professors and advisors have all been very accessible and easy to communicate with. This makes me feel very important and as if I actually matter in a sea of students. As opposed to a huge program where the prof's either are too busy working on research or don't know your name. 3) Tons of support: there is a TON of support from the faculty, professors and peer students. I feel, so far, that the professors go out of their way to ensure we're understanding the material, have resources available for our needs and the other graduate students really gave me a warm welcoming when I arrived on campus. They've all been supportive sharing their experience as a first year and positive feelings about everything. 4) Curriculum: I've been reading and learning more in the past 2 months than I have in the past 5 years. Our professors are knowledgeable, passionate and very well certified in what they do. A+ to the professors! 5) Resources: there are lots of resources for the graduate students to take advantage of: assistantships and on campus work for tuition discounts, Spanish Language center, movie and discussion nights and language exchange practice partners Great choice so far! Con's: 1) I'm half a country and an ocean away from my fiancé 2) Being abroad for graduate school is financially difficult for many reasons 3) The campus is quite small and we're often crammed into seas of english speaking American study abroad students"

  • Degree: Physical Therapy
"The benefits of Saint Louis University's Program in Physical Therapy include a focus on serving and treating the whole person, accessible and knowledgable faculty including a one-on-one mentor program, up to date and quality education, access to and cooperation with a vast number of clinical sites, and a program structure that accepts students as incoming freshmen allowing them to complete a doctorate degree in six years and encouraging cooperation instead of competitiveness between students in the program. The program allows for students to study and participate in clinical opportunities abroad. Faculty and students also have the opportunity to serve at an off-campus Pro Bono clinic, encouraging the ideals of service, hands-on learning, communication between faculty and students, and inter-professional education and cooperation. The program could improve in housing available to it's graduate students, course load distribution and interclass dialogue."
