"The program is run by women that can no longer practice hygiene due to pain from the profession. They don't tell you this in school but very very few hygienists can actually practice more than 15 yrs because of how hard it is on the body, and certainly not full-time. A few instructors were very helpful and kind, while most are rude and will even berate you in front of patients or gossip about students to each other while patients are being seen. Multiple classmates cried during clinic. You are expected to find all your own patients to meet certain criteria while also being enrolled in five classes at a time that are on site, do clinical rotations and 10 volunteer hours per semester- leaving little to no time to study so everyone cheats because it is the only way to actually pass the ridiculous requirements. Clinic is run like the military. After speaking with dental students and hygienists, hygiene school is harder than dental school and harder than actually being a hygienist. My advice, don't waste your time-choose another career that won't break your body."

"You can’t just add another class in the middle of enrollment. You make new students take the new class, but you do not just add it in the middle of getting your degree. 4th year will not be required to take the class. Why not? May as well just add it to their schedule like you did for the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st. This is ridiculous."

"The nursing program is abysmal. Unorganized and they do not care about their students. One professor literally admitted he doesn’t read through tests in advance and takes all the questions from question banks. They don’t check test questions for grammar mistakes or for incorrect answers. I would recommend everyone stay as far away as possible from this program if you actually want to be a good nurse. Their accreditation should be revoked."

"The nursing program here SUCKS. Especially if you have kids. There is no organization and no communication. You’ll be scrambling last minute over and over to find babysitters. On top of that, they throw in a terrible teacher in 4th semester that made it impossible to pass. The pervious semester doesn’t prepare you for the next one. The first semester teachers are amazing then it’s all downhill from there. By the last semester, you’ll be ready to drop out."

"I attended SLCC after attaining a biology degree from Duke University yet struggling to find work relating to that degree. Surprisingly, going to SLCC was the best decision I ever made, and opened doors that my Ivy-tier degree never could. While the instructors aren’t uniformly good and some classes could be structured better, overall I learned enough to get my foot in the door as a junior developer (less than two weeks between graduation and employment), and quickly advanced into a six-figure position with a Silicon Valley company which also afforded me global travel opportunities. The tuition is very modest, and has had a vastly better ROI than my previous private-school degree, which in spite of its prestige, did little except ruin my finances. My classmates at SLCC have all done quite well, in spite of many having no prior university education. Provided you are dedicated and finish the degree and actively pursue employment, you should have no trouble building a productive and lucrative IT career for yourself. Worth every penny."

"This nursing program is awful. They were super unorganized. The dean doesn't care if students graduate or not. Some of the teachers try to make the class as hard as they can. Other teachers do not conduct themselves professionally. They gave little help with the pandemic. The nursing advisor tells you to take classes that aren't needed so that the school can make money. I was told to get an associates degree before I could apply to the RN program. They also do not accommodate disability restrictions. I would not go here again if I had to do nursing school over."

"The professional truck driving program is an excellent program the instructors are very good with the students and very knowledgeable it doesn't really feel like school I actually enjoyed going there everyday kind of felt like going to work with friends the equipment is great all the trucks are 2017 or newer and they teach you how to shift standard unsyncronized transmissions nowhere near as easy as cars or as easy as you would think it is but once you get the hang of it it's kind of fun and it gives you a lot more control over the truck and they actually used 53-foot trailers not smaller ones like some of the other schools use they have approximately 20,000 lbs in enormous tractor tires in them so you're actually getting experience pulling weight I had a good time in this program the education is top-notch and the price is very reasonable probably the lowest that you're going to find especially for the quality of experience that you are gaining."

"The mass majority of my classes in the science field were considered" filter "classes and they may be extremely difficult because they thought their of filtering for the med schools, pharmacy schools ,or nursing schools, Their job is not to filter but is to properly educate which they did very very poorly."

"Been here since 2017, the teachers lack passion,. The teachers are there to collect a paycheck. The problem with slcc is most of the teachers need to be proactive with people understanding the topics. We seek understanding. Classes are 100% PowerPoint based & there is no time to understand them. No doctorates as far as I know. It's cheap and they hire cheap teachers. Do online if you go to slcc"

"In general I had a great experience, statistics class should be taught by better instructors who prepare and show students step by step. And final should not weigh in so much of grade. It would be helpful if student advisors would be better informed to help students, most meetings with advisors I walked out just as clueless as when I walked in. Other than that, good experience."

"Salt Lake Community College is a great way to be able to go to school within a flexible schedule. Their tuition isn't too high and they offer a variety of tools and amenities to help you succeed. I am going for an Associates in Business and they have a great business program. They have programs to help you get internships, they have advisers, and they also have great transfer programs."

"I love going to Salt Lake Community College. The classes are small, the instructors really do care if you succeeded. Class availability is a little hard but it works out in the end. I would recommend this college to anyone. The instructors, love to have fun and love what they do, which helps. The advisors needs a better system for more personal relations."

"I attend salt Lake Community college, the program or coarse I am participating in is pre professional in order to get all my prerequisites done for pharmacy school.. the counselors and program advisors are very kind and helpful, always checking up on you as well as the teachers. The environment in the class room is casual and a lot less number of students. That being, a lot of the time you are able to work with the teacher as well! Great for getting your associates and heading to your bachelors ."

"I am a non-traditional student at Salt Lake Community College. I decided to go back to school after having two children. I learned that being a single mother of two with a minimum wage job was going to be hard to provide for my family. I turned to education for a better wealthier life cycle for the three of us. When I decided to go back to school I was scared of the fact that I felt to old. I felt that I would be looked down upon because of my age. However, I am still a student attending at SLCC and I love how the advisors and the community are towards me. I have came to learn that we are all students here trying to live a dream we are all chasing after."

"Salt Lake Community College is a great starting place for all types of students. It is a financial friendly place to complete your generals and/or your associate degree. Most of the teachers are helpful and understanding, some not as much, but you can expect good and bad teachers anywhere you go. They are accommodating in so many ways, because all they want is for you to succeed. I would highly recommend SLCC to anyone and everyone."
