Graduation Year: 2012

I researched several online programs from various schools. SJVC online offers accelerated programs of study with instructors that are working in their fields. This has proven to be great in online lecture discussions.

PLUS, I have been able to do my school work when my schedule allows. At times this has been at 1 and 2 a.m. The lectures are recorded for repeated viewing as needed. This is a regionally accredited online institution which is necessary for credit transfer to continue educational pursuits.

I love SJVC and I am pleased with my decision. I look forward to graduating this July and having Student Services to assist setting up interviews.

As you start your courses, keep an open mind and an open book. Remember that you signed up for college for a reason. There is no time for laziness in these fast paced courses. If your dedicated and willing to take that huge step to success then enroll and let SJVC offer you the best education!

Their staff and educators are all professional and you will find that your collegues are willing to help you out as you all venture on a journey of a lifetime. I was scared and thought many times to myself, am I able to do this? It is a big step, one that you will be proud of yourself for accomplishing.

There are many tools to use for your convenience, the online learning library is my friend, the instructors get back to you in a timely matter, they leave you feedback (always in a postitive manner). The tutors are helpful and will call you at your convenience and trust me the math tutors know what they are doing!

Utitize the library, tutors, live lecturs and the labs to your convenience. Speak to your advisors as soon as you think you can't do something, they will help you and encourage you. So go ahead..Pursue, dream and accomplish!

Aftert reading the reviews on SJVC, I was very disapointed. I have been attending SJVC since Feb of 2010. While reading these reviews i notice people didn't recommend SJVC because they weren't flexible enough or because they didn't change the place of a students extern, but you have to remember THIS IS COLLEGE. The professors want you do be professional and to work hard. Don't attend ANY COLLEGE if you don't expect to have lots of work. Honestly, what did you think you were going to do in college? The teachers are very flexible, but they aren't doormates.

If you can't keep up with the work, then ask for tutoring, or simply stop being lazy. You can't blame a college because you, as an individual, can't keep up. Also when someone wrote about how they couldn't change their externship because the doctor believed you to be superior because of the online classes, than you have a duty to try to prove that doctor wrong.

If you worked hard, and proved to be educated, than the doctor wouldn't have continued to believe that. The point of not allowing you to switch extern is to teach you to try to "stick it out". As you can tell it says that they quit after they couldn't switch their extern, which shows their laziness, that was probably also shown in their work ethics.

Since I started attending SJVC, i've grwon education wise, and just simply as a person. SJVC is WASCA approved, unlike most private schools and is much more intuitive with their students. All the teachers I have had have helped me as much as they could. Of course there are teachers that are better than others, but that's what you'd expect at any college. I WOULD recommend SJVC to others.

ALthough, SJVC does have it's downside. SJVC is a private school, which means its expensive. Many people don't agree witht the price, however, in my opinon you get what you pay for.

Graduation Year: June 2012

This is a great school. I have been attending SJVC for eight months and will be finished in six more months. I have had really great instructors and the support that is available is extremely helpful. I have read some of the reviews and would like to say that you will get out of SJVC what you put into it.

It is hard work and you must be dedicated to the program in order to be successful just as you would at college. If you are shopping for an easy degree with little effort you should keep shopping!

Graduation Year: 2011

I started with SJVC online because I am self supporting and need to work full time. The classes fit into my schedule and I can do the work with I have the time. I have tried regular classes at the local college, but I could never get the classes when I needed them. This CMA program did cost a little, but all the books were brand new, delivered to my home, and my time was worth it!

I did have wonderful instructors! It seemed that every semester(5wks) I had some major life event happen and the instructors understood. I also had to repeat the math class and got very awsome support to pass the class! This school is no different than any other school in cost once you figure in books, lab fees, cost per credit hour, etc. It is also accredited and will transfer to other schools!

I am glad I picked SJVC online over other online schools! Hats off to Josh M. my student advisor!

The teacher’s are very friendly and approachable, the problem lies within the administration. My graduation date was June 30, 2011 it’s now July 18 2011 and not a word from the administration and still no diploma but I have my final transcripts. I sent emails with none being answered, I was just a number to them and without a doubt money.

I attended San Joaquin Valley College Fresno Industrial Technology Program and was very disappointed! The only Instructor that was half way decent quite and the others didn't care what was going on in class and offered no help. Not only am I out the money to attend this waste of time but I got no support in them helping to find me a job! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

The unit/class week was to start on Friday, with a live lecture at the beginning (anytime between Friday and Monday would have been fine) leaving time to post to discussion boards, do assignments and take quizzes and ask questions if needed. This generally happened in the beginning.

A Sociology class I was attempting to take when my daughter and father in law were in the hospital, had to be cancelled and re scheduled for two reasons, 1. My family was in the hospital 2. The live lectures were happening on the last day or second to last day (WED or THURS) of the course week. Also they were scheduled at a time when I was at work.

Attempts to move the live lecture to the beginning of the week were met with stern opposition. Saying that my requests were mean spirited and unprofessional. This also happened again when I started the Sociology class the second time with the same results.

A Computer class 5 weeks long barely covered the textbook materials. Some of the software was pretty relevant to construction as it was Scheduling and Estimating programs that even though I passed the class, I wouldn’t know how to use either one right now if you asked. I would be embarrassed if I had told a potential employer I went to college to be a Project Manager, but could not use the software. The instructor himself said that we could spend 5 weeks on each of those two programs alone. A total of 5 programs were studied. Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project. Also a Means Cost Estimating program. Thank goodness I was familiar with MS Office or it would have been a failure for sure.

One course on resume writing had no live lecture at all. I would think that would be critical in making the LARGE investment in SJVC online classes. It was beginning to look like I was going to pay you a boat load of money to teach myself, or prove what I already know. If your collection agency continues to try to elicit payment, I will take my argument to the highest levels of whoever has jurisdiction over your accreditation. I will send all the books back (They are as pristine now as they were when I got them) and the $395.00 computer you charged me $750.00 for as well. Just give me a ship to address. And we can call it even
