Degree: Medical Billing & Coding

So the folks that I've interacted with from the school have been nice and seemingly helpful at times but I think that's the only positive thing I can say here. What I'm upset about is that I'm now paying off a loan for a program that basically got me no-where whilst still working at the job that I'm trying to get away from because the place that I did my externship at (that the school found for me, by the way) was not hiring for an entry level position but more than happy to accept free help for... Degree: HVAC

I strongly caution anyone thinking about taking classes at SJVC. Going to SJVC is turning out to be one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made in my life. I graduated June of this year (2023) from the HVAC program. they sell you on the idea there are jobs out there. (there aren’t, not for people fresh out of school) and that the schooling itself is hands on. (it’s not, 80% of the program was book work 20% was 25 - 30 dudes crowding around 3 ac units trying to troubleshoot). It’s now November and I still... Read More

Degree: Medical Assistant

I am a graduate of the medical assistant certificate program, and I finished in 2017. I am so happy I did this and I have been employed for 6 years by two major hospital systems in my state. While hands on skills were limited to none during the program, the externship provided some experience to help my confidence. Looking back, I’m very happy for the help and cheering on that the teachers and student advisors gave me to finish the program. I’m now going back to nursing school feeling even more confident... Degree: Pharmacy Technician

By far best school I’ve attended. My teacher Ms Mora ( pharmacy technician) has been helpful in all my school work. Made sure I competed everything and if I needed help she would change her schedule to tutor me. Ms Mora and Mr H (career service advisor) has helped me along the way. Never left my side until I landed a job. I couldn’t have done this without them two. Best of the best

Degree: Electrical Engineering

I'm currently attending SJVC Temecula's Electrical program, I have already graduated from their HVAC program. Overall I have liked my experience here, my admissions and financial advisors were always friendly and helpful. For the most part, my teachers have been helpful and supportive. I had classmates who would complain that they weren't learning much, but they don't show up to class half the time. You get out of the program what you put into it. Career services had a lot of people leave during... Read More

I am enjoying my time here. The staff is knowledgeable and always ready to assist me with any problems I encounter during my training. I am going for my AS degree in electrical technology; the requirements for my certification will be met next week. I realize the responsibility of securing a position rests with me. I am excited about my future.

Degree: HVAC

Arrived at the HVAC program to find it mostly run down at the Temecula Campus. The rest of the school implemented ID card access points to enter the building for safety, considering all the school shootings. However, anyone at any time can just walk into HVAC and do pretty much whatever they want. The equipment used for hands on exercises are old and hardly work. The program was severely lacking tools, so much so that the instructors had to bring their personal tools to class for students. Good luck... Read More

Degree: Electrical Engineering

Me and some friends decided to check out some education and training courses.Compare some in the bay area and the valley, Modesto We all had slightly different interests and skills. So we went to sjvc. They were selling it hard, pushing all the dreams. I went in to electric and well I was disappointed. Tuition was high, promises and success stories shown A few of the instructors in my program seemed to know electric, there were a few that just blew hot air. Seemed the chief running the place was... Degree: Pharmacy Technician

Hello this review is to share how how disappointed I am. I completed my pharmacy tech coarse with perfect attendance and a 3.8 GPA I tried really hard to do everything accordingly just to have the school treat me like nothing of importance. I endd in October had my graduation in November passed the PTCB test have a job available since November to find out that my application for license was never received by the board that not until after my 3rd visit to the campus after receiving a message from... Waste of time and money. The teachers failed to engage any of the students. The class sizes ,students, are way too large. Didnt cover anything remotely useful to an industrial tech career. Do not fall for this scam. Youtube is better. 2 teachers quit.

Degree: Criminal Justice

I went to this school after graduating boot camp for the National Guard because I was interested in the Associate of Criminal Justice Degree. The coursework was ridiculously easy, I have no idea how people did not pass other than they did not want to show up to class. However, they will squeeze you financially for all that you got. Not to mention when I first enrolled the lady doing my financial aid erroneously advised me I could not use my Montgomery GI Bill since I had not served on active duty.... Read More

Attending this school was the biggest mistake I have ever made. They convinced me I was making the best move for a career path and in the end the Career Services Advisor didnt even want to help me. They took all my Pell grant and had me take out 2 student loans. Now Im getting letters that I was sent to collections and owe them another 4500 dollars! My wages are being garnished and this is just wrong! This school is a fraud!

SJVC has a incredible Criminal Justice program. The instructor's were very detailed during their lectures and were especially informative when it came to the hands on training. I have full confidence in my ability to work in the field and will take their advice, to remain open minded throughout my career.

Degree: Information Technology

The IT Degree is not worth the paper it is written on. The online labs are a joke. The career services leave something to be desired. Your better off just getting your CompTIA certifications and then move on to Cisco. Employers do not give a damn about your degree, they are looking for your experience and your certifications.

While you are in school, they are supportive, once you graduate you are on your own. Almost all employers are requiring in office experience. They never tell you that. Certain favored students are placed in an externship where they are sure to be hired. Others are just throwwn in anywhere the business wants some free help. I got good grades, met all requirements, and now 9 months out of school Iam still unemployed. Dont go here.

bad experience as scool, expensive. great time with students. but my guess is every private school is about the same now: get the money, grill the students to get passing scores, and get the students out. it boils down to what you want to get out the program. i can tell there were a few great inspiring professors, but most were about the gossip. NO ONE WILL FEED YOU THE KNOWLEDGE. prepare yourself , teach yourself, get a strong group of peers to get through it. quiz yourselves even when youre drinking,... Read More

There were equally good and bad instructor s. We didn't get everything that was promised in the beginning and there was a lot of miscommunication. I don't feel that it was worth the cost. I was lucky because the GI Bill covered most of my tuition. Compared to the pay in the feild doesn't make sense.
