Degree: Medical Assistant
Graduation Year: 2016

The school at first painted a perfect picture they claim to be all about professionalism yet they are far from it. First of what of things I found unprofessional was the instructors.Reason being we always had new instructors all the instructors by the second year left and were replaced, before they left they all mentioned to the students that the school was all drama and problems. For us students we had to adapt to new teachers or in some cases new doctors and their teaching style only to learn it for them to leave and have to pick up on someone completely different. To add to that we went through maybe nearly ten deans in those two years I swear. Another thing if you ask questions to why mistakes where made in your classes all you get is everyone pointing finger but no answer. They made mistakes in choosing classes in our financial aid and even graduation date and externship. What really set me off is I did my part which was obey they're regulations I tried to never miss class alway be on top of my school work alway have good grades etc yet the school claims that they stay on top of our education and they care so how did they make soooo many mistakes? And trust me I've complained and asked my questions and have never gotten straight answers or anything resolved. To be honest I paid a lot of money I expect them to be beyond perfect but they seem to be beyond not perfect!

Degree: Business Administration
Graduation Year: 2016

Great staff and great professors. I enjoyed the evening classes which allowed me to keep working during the day. Small class cohort which allows for interaction with the teachers. All my teachers had professional and teaching experience in the field of study.

Degree: Medical Assistant
Graduation Year: 2015

By far the WORST possible school to obtain a degree at. They will fight you tooth and nail if you raise any sort of questioning regarding the $$$$ expensive education you are paying for. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT go here. It was the biggest stressor and struggle just getting simple documents from the admins.

Degree: Nursing
Graduation Year: 2015

This is the worst possible school ,they teach from books we don't even have and the one teacher here gets away with murder. She makes your life a living hell and there is nothing you can do about it. Even the president of the school has been contacted with no luck, these people do what they want. There is no set rules, they abide by what they want and they play favorites... this is pathetic, I wish I would have known what I know now. I would have never come here, payed way too much for this garbage... save yourself money and stress,go elsewhere!

Degree: Criminal Justice
Graduation Year: 2010

I had a blast at SBBC, the instructors were excellent. I graduated with a 3.5 and received my A.S. in Criminal Justice. I had no problems with my financial aid, and I feel I earned my degree, it was not given to me. Since I graduated, I landed an awesome career in a prison as a family liaison. If you are considering SBBC, go for it!!!

This school is absolutely pathetic. It is a mess of a school and the administration admits that "this is a business" more than an educational institution. By far going to this school was the worst decision of my life.

I realized early on that this school didn't really know how to teach much. What I was unaware of was that they do not know how to use the financial aid students have. I withdrew from the school and am being charged with the amount that they told me they received from my FA but never did. I also explained that I was unemployed and could not make payments and they told me not to worry about it until I start a job. Today I received a notice that I'm being sent to collections. Which is fine if I had been told that would be the process, but I was under the impression that all was well for a few months. Also, don't try to ask for a supervisor, none is ever available.

From the beginning there was something not right. In my first interview with the admin staff I was told my credits would transfer. They don't automatically transfer and Santa Barbara City College and UCSB make it very difficult to transfer SBBC's credits.

A month into the program there were classes cancelled because they didn't have a professor and they found one off the street who wasn't very helpful. Some people quit the program and some stayed. I chose to stay and regretted it.

Afterwards the job placement program was terrible. I found a job on my own and as someone else has mentioned getting transcripts is a hassle.

Do not waste your time with this school. I have been trying to get a copy of my transcript for nearly 3 months. They do not follow up, or even answer their phones. When I do get someone on the phone they make it very clear that I am interrupting them. As this is an administrative function and they are in the administration dept. it leaves me completely stunned. How can they teach professionalism and business ethics when this is how their staff acts?

There are many schools out there that care much more for their students and will go out of their way to help and accommodate you. And not just their admissions dept. where they take your money.

I am in the massage program and love it! The only issue I've had at all with the school is that they tend to treat you like you are still in high school. We are told what to wear, have a limit to hours we can miss no matter how good our grade is before we auto fail, and some instructers try to hide the fact that we can actually get our license and begin practicing before we graduate.

When I found that out I was a little upset because that is something that can help our career instead of them hiding it they should put it out there for us and let us know how and what we can do. But the actual curriculum was amazing! I learned so much through this college its crazy. A typical massage school gives you 250 hours whereas ssbc gives you 660 so you can imaine the education you recieve. definintly even with its flaws i would reccommend this college!
