"Excellent academic education over the summer sessions. Field placements can be hit or miss."

"Pros: My program is very clinically oriented and does as excellent job teaching students how to integrate clinical theory into practice. I love that my program has an anti-racism commitment and strives to create an open and inclusive environment for all students. Faculty are friendly, approachable and eager to help students. The campus is filled with a variety of students from diverse backgrounds. Cons: Unlike other doctorate programs, there is little financial aid support. The town of Northampton, MA is not very diverse and generally financially privileged which can lead lower SES students or some students of color to feel isolated."

"Smith College has an amazing reputation for their masters program in social work. So far, I have loved every professor and class I have taken. The professors are readily available to help and encourage you throughout the program. I find most of my support and confidence within the network of educators and staff, which is something I did not experience in undergrad. The only thing that Smith lacks is diversity of its students. This probably has something to do with the private school status and the cost of tuition. I wanted to go to Smith to gain my MSW because of its intense structure that consists of short amounts of time in the classroom and extended amounts of time within a field placement."

"The Social Work program is very good and has an emphasis on clinical training, which is rare for many MSW programs these days."
