I am attending Southwest Florida College now for interior design. I transferred from another school due to my family moving across state and I was very unhappy about how they did not transfer a lot of classes that I had already taken.

The whole office is very unorganized, not helpful, and unprofessional. The school is a joke. I feel like I'm in high school again. I take that back, junior high. I want a degree so that is why I'm sucking it up, and finishing up here for a few more months since there are no other schools within two hours for my major. But who knows if this degree will even help get a job.

From reading the reviews it looks like the school won't be good from even that. What a waste of my time and money.... If you are thinking about going to this school, DON'T! If you want to actually learn something and get your moneys worth look into other schools. If you want an easy degree where you learn nothing and pay a fortune, this school is perfect for you!

Graduation Year: 2011

"We offer day, evening and weekend classes at all of our campuses so that your education fits with your busy schedule"

This is their ad, which is also on TV but don't be naive enough to believe it. They will wait until your last semester to tell you it's either nights or online..their way or the highway. Even a willingness to travel to another campus to fit a class into your schedule doesn't work since they all are on the same scheduling frame.,/p>

In my year of being a student I have never seen the administration care about whether a student has a working or family life outside. I am fortunate to have a perfect attendance record but I have seen students penalized for a sick child or a job shift change conflict. The school salesman do give terrific lip service and the old "Rah, Rah" but reality is a whole different ball game.

Don't waste time, energy or money on this school, there are way better options out there for a good education at a better price.

Graduation Year: 2012

I know for a fact that as expensive as it may be, the classes are small and the teachers are good. They have a max of 15 per class for a reason. BETTER education. You must have went to a different campus. Surg techs are needed all over and as long as your learning and you do your clinicals... you will get a job. I have 2 friends who graduated from there. I will in 12'. Maybe it helpd because we already work in the hospital but, so many people get jobs. Sorry about your experience. You should have went to another campus!!

i'm currently in my 5th class at STC and LOVE this school. I haven't had any problems what so ever with any department. I'm on the presidents list and love the classes they offer. The schedule is flexible and the teachers are very student oriented. They are more than willing to work with you no matter what the problem or situation.

Some people like to complain about everything but they usually don't stick around long. You can definatly tell who is attending the school to obtain a brighter future and who is there to goof off. They usually dont last long. The staff is wonderful clean down to the facilities manager.

I LOVE THIS SCHOOL!! We are like one big family. I would highly recommend this school. Check it out for yourself. Alot of people just can't cut it cause they don't want to do the work so when they drop out they want to bad mouth the school when in reality it's their fault for not applying theirselves.

This school changed my life. At the beginning, I was a little nervous that I could do the work and stay in school for 18 months since I hadn't been in school for a LONG time.

The teachers were nice and cared about whether I was in class. They even called to check up on me when I wasn't there.

I met alot of great friends and I have a job that I really like now. I'm happy that I went to Southern Tech, and most of my friends are too.

I work at the Sanford location. We have had hundreds of graduates. This fall is our FOURTH annual graduation ceremony in a huge ballroom downtown. We have people working in the field all over town. We have NEVER lost our accreditation. We have ZERO lawsuits against us.

People can write whatever they want on internet review sites. Unfortunately, some people just make things up.

Hey - I am a student at this school and don't appreciate the lies I am reading!! The faculty are all qualified...I actually checked before I enrolled.....did you? I also looked into their placement rates before I enrolled ....did you?

I graduate at the end of May...I already have a job, started at $12 an hour (a little lower than I hoped), but I went to $15 ater 60 day, and will go to $18 after i graduate. I put a LOT into my education...did you? You mention deadbeats...sounds like you're one of them. Don't complain about what you don't know about.

STC is NOT blacklisted and has a great reputation in the industry...I work in it so I know. I don't appreciate you blaming them for your failures and hurting MY reputation.

I went to this school for medical assisting. The teachers were great and I got a job right after school.

There is a problem with some students having very bad attitudes but they don't last long and usually drop within a few classes.

The good ones stay, graduate, and most of my class got jobs. A+

DO YOUR RESEARCH ON SCHOOLS BEFORE YOU ENROLL. I cannot believe there are not any other schools in this area that offer a decent degree program for HVAC. I am shocked that this is all Orlando has to offer. They charge you $30,000 and 80% of the teachers are clueless as they read directly from the book to teach the class. I took this HVAC class to start a new career and barely learned enough to make it on my own out in the real world. The class covers way too big of a spectrum of HVAC material and does not focus on residential AC enough to make you comfortable working with split systems. The hands-on training is minimal to say the least and a lot is promised and never followed through. The exams that are given are a joke but, some people can learn from the silly mistakes form the way tests are written.

This school attracts huge numbers of slackers and deadbeats that get government assistance that pay for the program so be ready for it. It is all about getting a free ride and there are very few students that go there to learn. I paid 25,000 cash for this BS and I wish I had my money back. As far as Southern Technical College goes to find you a job is non-existent. They have no connections or strategies whatsoever.

What they don't tell you !!!! The fact is that you CANNOT open your own ac business after you complete this degree or class. You need a State license that requires you to have 4 years of supervised experience before you can even test for it.
