Degree: Mechanical Engineering
Graduation Year: 1989

Tell us about your college experience.

I had already been employed as a Design Engineer when I enrolled at STCC. The classes that I took, and the fact that I earned my associate degree along with the 20 plus years of engineering experience I already had allowed me to be promoted several times. If I had not gotten my associates degree, I would most likely have been promoted. STCC was a good fit for me since the cost was reasonable, and it's location was convenient. The courses were far more practical than the ones that I had taken many years earlier at Western New England College. STCC also gave me credit for courses that I had taken at WNEC many years earlier, and WNEC would NOT give me credit for the courses that were completed prior to seven years before.

Would you get the same degree if you could start over?

No. There are not enough opportunities in the Mechanical Engineering field in this area anymore. If I went back today, I would choose something in the medical profession.

What advice can you offer other students?
