"St. John's is a stellar school that provides their students with endless opportunities. From the study abroad program, to the campus events, it caters to every student. In the middle of Queens, the diversity emerges beyond the campus gates. Student safety is of utmost importance, public safety is constantly on duty to ensure the well being of the residents. St. John's also gives discounted Broadway tickets, and the basketball games in Madison Square Garden are to live for. The dorms and apartments are perfect, with suite style apartments, spacious and great for decorating. St. John's also has a great sense of community, with many different clubs and organizations to join. With strong Venetian pride, SJU does not force their morals on anyone, but encourages their students to visit their beautiful on-campus catherdral. There is truly no other place to be in New York City, with the strong sense of unity, as well as city-like experience."

"St. John's University is great school that is very diverse. The professors are amazing and understanding. The only downfall of St. John's is that the student body is very "cliquish" and the tuition is expensive. St. John's is very community and family oriented."

"The six-year Doctor of Pharmacy program at St. John's University is one of the best programs in New York City. Combined with a beautiful campus, a student and alumni-oriented Career Center, and a study area designated for health science majors, the Doctor of Pharmacy program grants every student a high chance of obtaining a Pharm.D. The program starts with three bi-annual semesters of undergraduate work and one semester of introductory pharmacy classes. This is followed by a progression interview that challenges every student's dedication to becoming the best pharmacists they can be. The remaining four years are dedicated to purely graduate work and finally, an entitlement to a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. These last four years, known as the professional years, are dedicated to educating students about medications, diseases, the United States Health Care System, and more. I am excited and fortunate to have passed the progression interview and am going to attend my first professional year (third year of the program) in the Fall."

"St. John's University is the only pharmacy school which allows PharmD students to study abroad for an entire semester! The location is great - just a short trip into New York City. The student body is very diverse and there are a myriad of extracurricular activities to participate in."

"My St. John's experience was an awesome one. The faculty and staff were extremely helpful throughout my four years of study. I was able to make the best of my experience through becoming very active in student orgs and eventually served on several Executive Boards of those organizations. I had a very difficult experience during my freshman year that made me feel I would have to leave school, and my grade advisor went above and beyond in ensuring that I received all of the assistance I needed to move beyond my personal traumas and achieve my academic goal. For the school to be so large in student population, the administration really took time out to get to know me, and that was definitely an important factor for me. I would absolutely recommend my alma mater to anyone."

"Saint John's is one of the most respected universities in the New York metro area. It has a long line of tradition, diversity, and commitment to their students and image. I decided to attend Saint Johns for two reasons. First, logistically it was convenient for me to attend. The office which I currently work in is located 10 miles from the campus. Secondly, economically, it was less expensive than some of the other universities surrounding New York City. With an already abundant undergrad loan, Saint Johns made it affordable for me to obtain my MBA part time and continue to advance my career. On the other hand, Saint John's MBA program does not have the best rank on most College websites. This weighed heavy on my decision making during the application process. Secondly, Saint John's is not located in the safest of areas. The entire campus is enclose behind a gate. They make it as safe as possible, however once you leave the campus, you do not want to be caught walking around at night by yourself. Overall, after only few months attending Saint John's, I am happy with the decision I have made. I have learned a lot from my classmates through group discussions and projects, the professors have been very informative, and the faculty in the business school has been nothing but helpful throughout my experience."

"Foremost, I wish to say that I could not have asked for a better training program for my expected master's and Ph.D degrees in clinical psychology. St. John's University offers a very balanced program--well-rounded in both research methods and clinical skills. Students start right away in the university's psychological clinic learning valuable foundational skills that not all universities offer their students in the first half of their programs. The emphasis throughout is the use and dissemination of empirically supported treatments and being competent scientist-practitioners. The academics are rigorous and the expectations of the students are very high for this program. However, it is not overwhelmingly difficult... Like many older students in the program have said to me: St. John's gives you the opportunity to do plenty of hands-on research and work, but it's not going to fall into your lap. Altogether, I enjoy the program and the training here at St. John's--the school is in a nice area in one of the most culturally diverse counties in the United States. You couldn't ask for more excitement! As for the cons regarding the university, my only concern would be the price of living in New York City. The university itself bears no complaint on my part, although I believe that any place where students are learning should always strive toward perfection in the quality of its professors, staff, and academic expectations."

"The campus is relatively safe compare to the SUNY school I attended in undergrad. The school safety cars are around patrolling the main campus area. The faculty and staff members are all friendly. Professors are approachable. The workload is fine, as long as it is done according to the syllabus. Professors also hear us out and adjust things on syllabus that is unrealistic due to campus events or holidays."

"The pros of the graduate program at St Johns University are: - Welcoming faculty - Many opportunities for networking - Small class sizes The cons are: - Lack of financial aid and financial aid information - Lack of jobs on campus for graduate students who don't have work study"
