"In today's workforce many degree's are not valued. It is to my dismay that I did not find a degree with good earning potential so that I could provide for myself. If I had a penny I would send it to Texas State to let them know that's how much my degree is worth. Luckily, I can move on and earn a Master's and that's exactly what I need to do now, and I need the money to do it."

"Texas State University stands out for their business, aquatic biology, and forensic anthropology programs. The university has one of only a few body farms in the U.S., access to a unique aquatic ecosystem hosting endangered animals and plants and the business school has won many awards. The campus is gorgeous and hilly with a diverse student body that continues to grow. Eat'em up Cats!"

"This was the best decision I've ever made. This college better prepared me than some of the other 'big wig' Texas schools did my colleagues. The professors are all very helpful and the campus is beautiful. 100% recommend-it changed my life for the better."

"Texas State was amazing! I have never considered going there, but when I stepped on campus for a tour, I was sold. It was big enough to get new experiences, with the feel of a smaller school. The care and passion from all staff, faculty, and students is refreshing. The quality experiences inside and outside of the classroom is hard to find and their commitment to student success is proven everyday!"

"The programs faculty and location make it a top program in Texas! The school's website is not top norch and registering for classes was a bit of figuring it out on my own. If i needed any help there were plenty of people to ask with fast replies."

"Loved college. Loved the challenges. I had to learn to manage time which is one of my greatest strengths now. Always strive to make time for everything. It is possible, you just have to learn to prioritize and even delegate at times."

"I love Texas State! I am proud that I graduated from a four year, accredited university. I took mostly online courses, but the time on campus made me wish I had taken all my courses there. The faculty actually care that you graduate and it's not all about your tuition. The campus is beautiful and remodeled to fit our new aged lifestyles. When I was attending, there weren't many schools offering online courses, so they were ahead of the game then and even for those times, using the best of technology. I'm sure now it's even better!"

"Texas State is a great place to go to school! I received my Bachelor's degree from State, and I am so glad to return to receive my MBA! Although I work full time, graduate school can bear a heavy load on its own. It would be such a relief to have some help, and it would help eliminate some of the stress that grad school creates on its own!"

"I would recommend Texas State to anyone, as someone who enjoyed balancing studies with outdoor activities. The location of the campus was situated right in the Hill Country giving it some beautiful views from the upper hills. It is also close enough to Austin and San Antonio for day trips and also allows you to have good access to public transportation. It really is a great area to live and study. The university has some great professors in the liberal arts, education, business, and criminal justice fields. The campus is big enough to offer many different programs, but small enough to where you don't feel overcrowded in a huge university. You can definitely see the growth at the university in both students and buildings by seeing how many new cranes show up on campus. Really is a great time to become a part of the Texas State family. It's always a great day to be a Bobcat!"

"Loved the college campus but the Social Work department is a hit or miss. Some great professors and some professors that didn't teach and instead just told stories. TX State has a lot to offer on campus, especially outdoor activities."

"Therapeutic Recreation masters program at Texas State is insightful and rewarding. Professors help us understand the meaning of recreation and how to apply it in a therapeutic fashion. Classmates are cohesive and grow closer as the semesters pass on. Professors are well connected, very friendly and very helpful. Surrounding areas make it easy to relax by floating river w/ classmates as well as other fun activities. The program is relatively new, somewhat small but quickly growing. Glad I am attending Texas State for this program."

"It's a medium sized college, coming from a big city I loved how close everything and everyone was. The river scene was so fun, a great way to get away for the evening or whatever time! Being so close to the water felt great."

"The program was very industry oriented. It helped me to better understand the nature of healthcare, the challenges it would face and gave me skills to better deal with those challenges once employed. I did feel that there was an under emphasis on data and the importance it has played in healthcare and my current role as a business analyst. I work with data and try to solve data issues every day and that was not taught in class."

"It was okay. There wasn't enough investment in the sciences. The student government had way too much power to spend tuition money or make decisions about campus financial contracts."

"I graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos with a BS in Applied Sociology, minor in Rec. Admin. I only attended Texas State for 7 semesters, including 4 summer sessions, as a transfer student, but I wish I had been there from the start. First thing to catch my attention was the campus. It's gorgeous and full of things to do. Sewell Park hosts the San Marcos River and it's so close to the source of the river it's waters are always clear and cold. I know campus has been under fairly heavy construction since I left because a lot of growth is happening. Student population is increasing because it's both fun and quality education. As a transfer, my studies were predominantly at Jowers, for Rec Admin, and Derrick, for Sociology. But, I did have two semesters of Spanish and they were terrible as summer courses. Too much to cram into too little time. Overall, coursework was practical and useful. I would recommend Texas State to anyone, as someone who enjoyed balancing studies with outdoor activities. I'm a native Texan and I think San Marcos is perfectly situated on the edge of the hill country. Close enough to Austin and San Antonio for day trips and close enough to immerse yourself in the quiet hill country. I easily drove to Wimberley on Sunday's for church and those single-lane 'backroads' where never too busy. It really is a great area to live and study."
