"The College of Wooster is an excellent college, offering abundant opportunities for students to take advantage of. You get as much out of studying at this small, supportive campus as you are willing to put in. Through a variety of funding and fellowship opportunities offered by the College, I was able to spend three and a half months abroad before my senior year doing research for my Independent Study Thesis (our capstone project) while completing an internship relevant to my field. The faculty are not only involved thoroughly in every aspect of your academics, but are truly dedicated to your success and are available to help."

"The College of Wooster as the nation's premier undergraduate institution for mentored-student research has provided me with a broad skill set and background of experience that has prepared me to enter law school. At the College of Wooster an undergraduate student receives a true liberal arts education. The college requires students to pursue a curriculum in various fields of study. In addition, Wooster allows students to develop their own major, catered to their specific interests and needs. As an institution with a focus on undergraduate research, all students must complete an Independent Study thesis before graduating. The Independent Study thesis is a year-long project that is completed with the help of a faculty mentor. Students complete a thesis in the area of their major, but have the freedom to choose a research topic of their choice. During the I.S. project, students develop an original undergraduate research project and collect their own data, ultimately culminating in a 100-plus page, thesis style project. Independent Study at Wooster allows students to truly immerse themselves in their field of study. Students have the opportunity to complete a ground breaking project that will lend itself to future research in the field. The knowledge and skills gained in completing the Independent Study at Wooster are unique in an undergraduate education. Not only will students develop an expertise within their major but prior curriculum requirements will have prepared students across a wide-range of areas of study. The education received at the College of Wooster embodies a true liberal arts education."

"Truly a college that changed our perspective on your academic, social, and cultural knowledge. They have perfected the student-professor relationship by making it a requirement in the form of independent study. If you make the most of this, it will unfailingly prepare you to seek out and develop relationships with mentors and peers."

"Wooster was a wonderful school and I had a great experience there. I do think that for certain students its small size and small town location could be difficult, but most students enjoyed the small community."

"The school offers nothing to a student. There is zero emphasis on the student's future career or employment prospects. One will leave this school in debt with a liberal arts degree. It is much better to go to a state school. A small private liberal arts college is not the way to go."

"I wanted to play sports during college and Wooster allowed me to be a good student athlete! Coaches were understanding of school commitments/demands and professors were willing to be flexible around games/matches. Wooster is a great college experience!"
