The University of Arizona Global Campus Reviews of Master's in Organizational Leadership

I would like to urge everyone who reads this not to enroll in this university. The academic standards are low. The coursework is full of busywork which minimizes the learning. Most importantly, the school is money, hungry, and they will tell you anything you want to hear in order to get you to sign up for a course. On at least two occasions I have been told things that were absolutely not true, in order to convince me to sign up. Once I was told that I would get some work life credit for achievements... Read More in my career, this turned out to be completely not true. Another time I was told that I could finish the coursework by a certain date given the availability of classes. It turned out that later. This was not true either, potentially delaying my completion by up to a year or more due to my own schedule. If your company is paying for this, and it’s the only school available, those are the only circumstances under which I would recommend the school. If your company is paying, and there are other schools available, by all means, select one of them instead of this one. And by all means, don’t spend a penny of your own money on this. Online education is what it. There could be some benefits to be had, but if you’re laying out your own money, try to find a school with a better reputation that respects it’s students more than this one does.

Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT attend Ashford University!! They are unprofessional, unresponsive, and are not in the business of assisting students. I was a student and recently received a call from a collection agency that my account was sent to them. I WAS LIVID!! I called the finance department and she verified that someone had reached out to me on April 6 and that I explained to them that I was waiting on my employer to know what portion I was going to be responsible for. Next thing I know I'm getting... Read More a call from a collection agency. The woman from the finance department then transferred me to the recovery department and he explained that he could only see that the last communication was in March and that my account was placed in a "follow up" status. I said but there was no follow up, this man had the nerve to say "well it's not a real status, its a protection." I said so you mean to tell me if something is in follow up status you don't really mean to actually follow up on it???? He said "No". I said imagine if a lawyers office or a doctors office or any office for that matter said you were in follow up status but never follows up or actually meant to follow up!!! I also informed that a previous matter with a grade that I received was supposed to be looked into but never followed up. (Well I guess follow up doesn't really mean follow up at Ashford.) I called another number and they informed me that they didn't know who the president or vice presdident of the organization was and therefore couldn't transfer me. (ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? WHO DOESN'T KNOW THE NAME OF THEIR ORGANIZATION'S PRESIDENT???) I just want to pay my bill and be done with them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! THERE ARE OTHER AND FAR BETTER ONLINE INSTITUTIONS! Especially one that has a physical office you can go to.

It doesn't surprise me to see some great reviews and some bad reviews like any opinion based review site but I will tell you, My experience here at Ashford University has been stellar and exemplary. I would recommend this University and the online program if you fit the following mold ... you work hard, you are dedicated, you are self driven and you can adapt to the different instructors and what they are looking for in the curriculum. My academic advisor was more readily available in the beginning... Read More of my journey and then as time progressed they would always get back tome within 24-48 hours if not the same day. The instructors always were willing to help and instruct give guidance whenever needed. I would recommend this school to people that are NOT looking for an easy ride though .. if you are, then keep walking because it is not an easy ride and I got both my bachelors and MBA from here. Best decision I could have made.

I am a current student at the university. The school at one time had excellent communication when asked questions. Whenever I call now, I get the run around and sometimes no response from emails at all. I am seriously thinking about enrolling in another school. I am currently obtaining my master's through the online services. The information from each person is different. I had a recent issue. I had to call back several times getting different answers from each person I spoke to. Today I called.... Read More The representative from yesterday told me he would handle for me. The problem was still unresolved after speaking with the rep. today. A lot of inconsistencies. My academic advisor is great. Everyone else, no. If you go, double check any questions you have. I have been going there 5 years. I got my B. A. from the college. Since the school going online only, their high standards have changed. I always in the past thought the school was great and they was, but here lately the disappointments continue to build.

My experience at Ashford University was excellent. If you are looking to complete your education in a nontraditional setting, Ashford University's online programs are an excellent choice. The coursework is challenging, flexible, and rewarding. There is a significant amount of support and guidance by the university's professors. I took the online program and it required a lot of time and dedication. You must be self disciplined and self motivated in order to maintain passing grades. If you do the minimal required work and do it on time you will pass with good grades. I completed my Masters with a 3.55 and am very happy to have completed it. I was also able to meet faculty and other students at an event in Orlando where they treated us to food and deserts. I recommend Ashford University but only if you are intelligent and... I have attended a number of schools in my military career. Because of all the moving, I had to continuously transfer from school to school. Once I heard about Ashford and how close the campus was to me, I started attending school. I completed a BA and a MAOM which I received a 3.9 GPA. The reason I chose an online school versus a traditional school (mind you Ashford does have an actual campus) was the fact that balancing work and family was my main priority. The courses are only 5 weeks and YES you... Read More can learn something if you actually read!!!! In a traditional school setting, most people would agree that you lose focus about 30 minutes into class, these courses force you to read. Also, I liked the fact that the campus was only 45 minutes away from my house; employers around here knew where I got my education from and how reputable Ashford is.

I have to say, after completing a number of years with this school, I really have not had any issues with the money. I have seen some of the reviews of how people have had issues, but 9 out of 10 times it is because the student did not do something correct on their end. For example, adding classes, dropping classes, not filling out the proper paperwork etc., yes, can slow the process up, but my recommendation is this, once you start don't stop!!! The people who say they had problems are probably the ones who blame all their issues on others and never take responsibility for their own actions…… Remember, this school has been doing this for awhile, they understand the benefits and how to process those benefits, and so you have to use common sense when you read some of these negative posts.

All but one of my academic advisors was very helpful, and for the one, I got rid of her by requesting another. They provided me guidance on what courses of action would work for me and would get back to me within 24 hours of an email or call. Remember people, if you're truly dedicated to your education there are a number of schools to attend. For me, this worked best because they are regionally accredited and are military friendly. By the way, I have a number of job offers that pay over $70,000 a year when I retire from the Army
