"The graduate program can be more rigorous. The pros include selecting your own professors that are able to challenge you more. Another pro is the study abroad availability."

"The Clinical laboratory Program at UTPA offers excellent quality of education, covering each section of the clinical laboratory, and preparing students into becoming avid laboratory technicians. The program consists of three full semesters and one summer semester. The work load is pretty heavy but necessary. Finally, the program is connected with 8 major local hospitals in which students are sent to complete their clinical rotations at a professional laboratory."

"The program was very affordable and accessible particularly due to the shift to it being entirely internet based. However, with a major such as Kinesiology, I feel it would me more beneficial for students to have some hands on interaction as many of the professions within Kinesiology rely heavily on communication and hands-on work."

"I believed the University my need to spend more in infrastructure and also concentrate in the lectures given to the students. I can not be possible to use the same lectures of two years ago."

"The most important pro to me is that there are the small class sizes. The cons include, a lack of variety of courses to take."

"This is a great and inexpensive school. If you are looking to go to college in an area where the pace of life is slow and relaxing, come join us in the valley."

"UTPA is located in the middle of paradise (the Rio Grande Valley); unfortunately, paradise can also be tedious and risk being lost. UTPA is a fantastic school, has unbelievable professors and supports its students in every regard."

"It is a great program, it is available to most of all graduate students who would like to pursue the degree. There are some issues that it should be address immediately, for example, undergraduate students sitting in the same course with graduate students, the course should be different and focus in a deep sense of the material learned. More projects and research areas should open to students."

"Our graduate criminal justice program offers a more in depth comprehension of crime, our security, and social and public policy in response to it. It really helps us become more versed and adequately prepared for such specific realms that a career of that nature will consist of. The program really emphasizes a more guided direction for students by each of the teachers. There are smaller classes so more questions could be asked and there is more time for discussion."
